TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athletes in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.
Annie Shaw of the University of Scranton has been selected as the 2025 Landmark Conference Field Hockey Senior Scholar-Athlete. She becomes the sixth Royal to earn the award, and the third straight, joining former teammates Bridget Abraldes (2023) and Lauren Franco (2024).
Shaw, an Advertising, Public Relations, and Social Media major with a 3.78 grade point average, closed out her senior season in spectacular fashion. She helped lead Scranton to the 2025 Landmark Championship, scoring two goals in the Royals’ 3–0 win over Susquehanna in the title game to earn Championship Most Valuable Player honors. She’s also a two-time All-Conference selection (Second Team in 2024, First Team in 2025).
Academically, Shaw earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCAA) Scholar of Distinction recognition in 2024 and is a three-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll selection.
Shaw also leads on campus as a Morgan’s Message Student Ambassador, working to create a positive environment for student-athletes by helping break the stigma surrounding mental health. She organizes awareness events and fundraisers and uses social media to educate the campus community about mental health resources and support.
