Catholic, Scranton Set for Landmark Women’s Soccer Showdown

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference Women’s Soccer Championship will feature #3 Catholic University traveling to face #1 Scranton. The Royals enter as the top seed and favorites, while the Cardinals look to pull off an upset and capture their first title since 2015. The winner will earn the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.

How They Got Here
  • Scranton entered the tournament after an unbeaten regular season in conference play and outscoring opponents 42-8. In the semifinals, the Royals defeated Susquehanna 1-0, with Lena Madjor scoring the game-winner in the 72nd minute to secure their spot in the championship.
     
  • Catholic earned its championship berth with a hard-fought 1-0 win over second-seeded Lycoming. The teams were evenly matched in the first half, with multiple scoring chances for both sides. In the 76th minute, the Cardinals broke through when Avery Bowman sent a throw-in into the box, Peyton Coron collected it, and fed Sam Cesario, who one-touched the ball into the net.
