Landmark S&D Championship: Day Two Recap

TOWSON, Md. – Day two of the 2024-25 Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships wrapped up at the Mangione Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola University in Baltimore.

Catholic University surged to the top of the standings with 299.5 points through two days. Day one leader Drew University sits in second with 246 points, just ahead of the University of Scranton at 245.

Sophomore Shawn Mashburn set the tone for Catholic, winning gold in the 500-yard freestyle with a meet-record time of 4:37.67. Teammate CJ Connolly III defended his title in the 3-meter dive, scoring 326.65 points to secure first place for the third straight year.

Drew’s Nicholas Heinio-Widell delivered another standout performance, winning the 200-yard IM in 1:50.03 to earn an NCAA B-cut.

On the women's side, Scranton extended its lead with 388 points, well ahead of Catholic (241). The Royals dominated the 1-meter dive, claiming the top four spots as well as sixth and seventh place. After winning gold in the 3-meter event on Thursday, Nicole Stofko added another title, taking first in the 1-meter dive with 326.15 points.

The competition continues on Saturday, February 15, with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m.
