Drew's Mike Ford Named Men's Golf Senior Scholar-Athlete

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes annually, recognizing students in each sport and considering both academic and athletic achievements.

These honorees must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are chosen by a committee comprising Landmark Conference officers, athletic directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications personnel, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.

Mike Ford of Drew University has been selected as the Landmark Conference’s 2024-25 Men’s Golf Senior Scholar-Athlete. He becomes just the second student-athlete in program history to earn the honor, joining Anthony Castronova (2019-20). He is also Drew's third Senior Scholar-Athlete during the 2024-25 academic year.

A two-time All-Landmark Second Team selection (2022, 2024) and two-year team captain, Ford consistently delivered strong performances at the Landmark Championships, never finishing lower than 15th. He played a key role in Drew’s historic 2022 campaign, helping the Rangers capture their first-ever Landmark title.

Ford made an immediate impact as a freshman, leading the team with a 77.7 scoring average. He once held or shared school records for both 18 and 36-hole rounds, including a 3-under-par 69 and a 2-under 142—both achieved during the same event alongside then-teammate and now-head coach Lucas Artigliere.

In the classroom, Ford maintains a 3.40 GPA while majoring in Business with a minor in Data Science. He is a two-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll selection (2023, 2024), made Drew’s Dean’s List in Fall 2023, and completed the Bloomberg Market Concepts certification. In Spring 2025, he also participated in Drew’s prestigious Wall Street Semester.

Outside academics and athletics, Ford is involved in “The Fund,” Drew’s student-run investment group, managing a $65,000 portfolio. He also competed in “Bear Den,” a Shark Tank-style pitch competition, delivering four full-scale business presentations.
