TOWSON, Md. - Emily Moehringer, an All-American and NCAA Championship qualifier, has been selected as the Landmark Conference’s nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. One of the most decorated student-athletes in Catholic University history, Moehringer excelled across all areas of the Division III experience, pairing record-breaking performances on the track with academic distinction as a nursing major and a commitment to community service abroad and at home.
“Emily’s career captures everything that makes Division III special, excellence on the track, a relentless dedication to her studies, and a genuine commitment to serving others,” stated Landmark Commissioner Katie Boldvich. “What stands out most is the way she leads; with empathy, resilience, and an ability to elevate those around her. Whether breaking records, caring for patients, or building a school in Nicaragua, Emily has left an indelible mark on Catholic University and the Landmark Conference. We are incredibly proud to have her represent us as our NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.”
On the track, Moehringer established herself as one of Catholic’s all-time greats. She competed at four NCAA Championships, earning five All-America honors, including becoming the first female athlete since 2019 to earn First Team All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the 1500m this past spring. A dominant force in the Landmark Conference, Moehringer was a 12-time All-South Region honoree in track & field and earned additional All-South Region recognition in cross country. She was a 13-time All-Landmark Conference selection in track & field and twice more in cross country.
In addition to her individual accomplishments, Moehringer was a key contributor to Catholic’s team success. She was part of the Cardinal cross country squads that won Landmark Conference league titles in 2023 and 2024, and a member of the 2024 women’s track & field team that captured the program’s first-ever conference championship. She leaves Catholic holding six track and field program records and three Landmark Conference records.
“I am honored to be selected as a nominee among such a strong and talented group of women in the Landmark Conference,” said Moehringer. “I’m grateful to my coaches, teammates, and family for their unwavering support, guidance, and belief in me throughout my time at Catholic University. This nomination is a reflection of the incredible people who have shaped who I am and laid the foundation for my success in the classroom, on the track, and in life.”
Off the track, Moehringer excelled academically as a nursing major with a 3.90 grade point average, graduating summa cum laude through Catholic University’s Honors Program. She was a three-time selection to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team and a five-time United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honoree. Moehringer was also named the 2024-25 Landmark Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete, successfully managing the demanding clinical requirements of her nursing degree.
Moehringer’s commitment to service is equally impressive. She dedicated her time to organizations such as So Others Might Eat (SOME) and Sacred Heart Dinners, providing vital support to underserved populations in the local community. She also supported children with disabilities through the Long Island Shooting Stars Running Program, fostering inclusion, physical fitness, and personal growth in track and field. She initially worked one-on-one and with small groups of athletes, before taking on a leadership role that involved organizing practices and coordinating volunteers to ensure each athlete received personalized support.
Internationally, she contributed to BuildOn Nicaragua, helping to construct educational facilities for better access to education. Additionally, her clinical practicum in Costa Rica offered hands-on care to vulnerable communities abroad.
