Scranton Claims Third Straight Championship Title

BALTIMORE, Md. - The University of Scranton secured its third consecutive conference championship on Sunday.

The Royals were led by Aviah Dahlgren, who captured the 1650 freestyle in 17:51.98 to earn the victory. Alyssa Bean delivered a standout performance with two podium finishes, winning the 200 butterfly in 2:08.49 and placing second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:07.29.

In the sprint events, Kimberly Gingrass placed third in the 100 freestyle, touching in 54.33. Scranton also earned a runner-up finish in the 400 freestyle relay, as the quartet of Gingrass, Amelia Griffin, Hailey Wilcox, and Dahlgren combined for a time of 3:41.10.

Other individual event champions on the final day included Tara Wiarda (Catholic) in the 200 backstroke (2:05.36), Kyra Gorman (Drew) in the 100 freestyle (53.32), and Bella Mugno (Catholic) in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.35). Catholic closed out the meet with a victory in the 400 freestyle relay, as Emily Albans, Keriann Collison, Emily Blaskovich, and Grace Kelly posted a winning time of 3:37.09.
