Landmark Conference Men’s Tennis Semifinals Set For Friday

TOWSON, Md. - The field is down to four as the Landmark Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament continues Friday, May 1, with semifinal action at campus sites. Top-seeded Moravian University and No. 2 Catholic University enter following first-round byes, while defending champion Goucher College and Drew University advanced through Wednesday’s opening round.

Semifinal Matchups - Friday, May 1
No. 3 Goucher College at No. 2 Catholic University - 3:00 p.m.
  • Catholic enters the semifinal round after earning the No. 2 seed and returns its entire lineup from last season’s team, which was upset in the semifinal round. The Cardinals are looking to return to the conference championship match for the first time since 2014.
     
  • Goucher arrives with momentum after a 4-0 win over Juniata College and continues its title defense as the reigning conference champion. The Gophers are led by 2025 Landmark Player of the Year Gabe Naftoly, along with Tadeo Asprella and Benedikt Rummel.

Semifinal Matchups - Friday, May 1
No. 4 Drew University at No. 1 Moravian University - 4:00 p.m.
  • Moravian enters the semifinal round as the tournament’s top seed after completing the program’s first undefeated Landmark regular season at 9-0. The Greyhounds earned a first-round bye and now turn their attention toward a conference title run on their home courts. The Greyhounds are looking to advance to the conference championship match for the first time since 2009.
     
  • Moravian has been led throughout the season by Roman Farhad and Joey Kelly, who each posted perfect singles records in Landmark play. The duo of Farhad and Kelly has also been unbeaten in conference doubles matches, anchoring the top of the lineup.
     
  • Drew advanced to the semifinal round after a 4-0 win over The University of Scranton and brings postseason experience into Friday's matchup. The Rangers, 2023 conference champions, are led by returning All-Landmark performers Jesse Faro and Daniel Arcari.
