MADISON, N.J. – The Landmark Conference has announced the selection of 32 student-athletes to the 2011 Fall Landmark All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically. Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark fall sports and must be a sophomore or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

The fall All-Academic Team features 15 seniors, 10 juniors and seven sophomores. Eightof the 32 honorees are earning All-Academic honors for a multiple time in their career, while three selections have earned honoree for a third time, and another has claimed four All-Academic selections. In addition all six fall sports sponsored by the Landmark Conference are represented with at least one student-athlete. The Landmark Conference will select an All-Academic Team for each of the three athletics seasons during the year.

Caitlin Conroy from Telford, Pa. has had two productive seasons for the Catholic women's soccer team. She helped the team to a Landmark Championships as a freshman scoring one goal and notching three assists and followed up with a strong sophomore season. She has also excelled in the classroom in her first two years with a stellar GPA as a politics major and has earned Academic Honor Roll status.

Matt Hofrichter of Great River, N.Y. has been a part of back-to-back Landmark Championships for the Catholic men's soccer team including playing in all 21 games and picked up one assist in his senior season. This is his second time on the Fall All-Academic Team and he is nearing a degree in biology. He is a multi-year Dean's List choice and also has earned Academic Honor Roll three times.

Katherine Sacker, a native of Catonsville, Md., also earns All-Academic recognition for the second time in her career following a strong junior cross country season. She had three top-25 finishes in her junior year and a 31st-place finish at the Landmark Championships where she helped Catholic place sixth. She has twice earned Landmark Academic Honor Roll recognition and is majoring in nursing at Catholic.

Pete Wawrsuzin, a native of Potomac, Md., earned All-Academic distinction after Catholic claimed its second-straight Landmark Men's Soccer Championship. He made 18 starts for the Cardinals helping to anchor a defense that had nine shutouts and a 0.95 goals against average for the season. The psychology major boasts a stellar GPA and has three Academic Honor Roll selections to his credit.

Kyle Reinhardt of Newton, NJ was a strong presence on the soccer field for Drew over the course of his four seasons. He started 18 matches in his senior year, helping to anchor a defense that led the conference in goals against average and shutouts. Off the field he is a member of the Economics Honor Society and has been on the Dean's List every semester while pursuing a degree in economics with a business minor.

Jennifer Van Wingerden from Augusta, N.J. emerged as a force for the Drew cross country team in her junior year. In her first season on the team she set a new school record at 6,000-meters, won the Misericordia Cougar Classic and ranked among the fastest in the conference in several events. A political science major, she has been on the Dean's List each semester at Drew.

Kevin Walpole of Newark, Del. closed his senior season for the Drew men's soccer team by earning first-team All-Conference honors. He started every game for the Rangers in his senior campaign, scoring twice and adding an assist as the team posted a 15-4-1 record. A dual-major in Spanish and biology, he is a three-time Academic Honor Roll choice and has never missed a semester on the Drew Dean's List.

Emily Weida from Lancaster, Pa. helped Drew reach the Landmark Women's Soccer Championship as the team's leading scorer and was second on the team in 16 points. She earned first-team All-Conference selection for the second-straight season and ranked among the Landmark goal leaders. She is majoring in art with a minor in Spanish and has been a Dean's List honoree each of her three years at Drew.

Ashley Fan from Ellicott City, Md. was one of the top defensive players in the Landmark as a libero for Goucher. She set a new school record with 33 digs in a three-set match, and led the team in digs with 631 in her junior year, while ranking in the top-four in the Landmark in digs per set. A biology major, she boasts a strong GPA and is conducting research into effects of insulin in Xenopus laevis.

Hugh Geller, a native of Denvens, Mass., produced a strong season in his sophomore campaign for the Goucher cross country team. He produced a 45th-place finish with a time of 27:42.6, improving by 27 places from his freshman season. He is a participant in Goucher's International Scholars program, and was the recipient of scholarships for fine and performing arts as well as Global Citizens.

Micki Manheimer of Falmouth, Maine capped stellar career for the Goucher field hockey team by playing every minute in goal her senior season. She led the Landmark in saves and was the co-leader in shutouts, and was an All-Conference selection in her junior year and finished with a 3.54 goals against average for her career. This is her third All-Academic selection and she is working towards a communications degree.

David Spivey of Cockeysville, Md. is off to a strong start athletically and academically for the Goucher men's soccer program. He started the first four games of the year in goal for the Gophers this season, producing 22 saves, a 3.23 goals against average and one shutout. Off the field he is studying biology and biochemistry and was the recipient of Goucher's Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award in spring 2011.

Shauna Deschenes, a native of Duncannon, Pa., was a part of three Landmark Championship field hockey teams and finished her career with 24 goals, 13 assists and 61 points, which ranks in the top-10 in Juniata history in career points. A three-time Academic Honor Roll selection she is working towards a degree in biology, and volunteers with the Huntingdon County Humane Society and is a frequent blood donor.

David Grim of Boalsburg, Pa. earns All-Academic honors for a second time after a strong career for the Juniata men's soccer team. He produced 26 points for his career, including five points in his senior season, which ranked third on the team. He was a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree as a junior, is a member of numerous honor societies and serves as a student representative for Juniata Board of Trustees.

Ceth Parker of Sabillasville, Md. has excelled in cross country for Juniata over the past four seasons. An All-Region and All-Conference performer in cross country, he was the 2010 Juniata cross country MVP, and is a multi-time All-Conference finisher. This is his second All-Academic selection and he is a recipient of the Juniata College Leadership Nomination Scholarship, and a member of the Biology Honor Society.

Amanda Schmidt, from Boswell, Pa., was a part of four Landmark volleyball championships in her career. An All-Conference selection as a junior, she posted 197 kills in her senior year and was voted the Most Outstanding Player of the 2009 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. She's appeared on the Dean's List six times, is a member of the Juniata Activities Board and volunteers with Huntingdon "Communities that Care."

Nicolas Hurff, a native of Sewell, N.J., is a three-year letter winner for the Moravian men's soccer program. He appeared in all 18 matches as a junior, making 14 starts, bringing his career totals to 50 matches played with 25 starts. He has twice earned Landmark Academic Honor roll status as an environmental science major, is a four time Dean's List honoree and is planning a career in the military.

Diana Feldman of York, Pa. closed a standout career for Moravian women's soccer with her third All-Conference selection. The defender was a three-time All-Conference pick, and was on the field for every minute of all 79 matches of her career, totaling four goals and five assists. She boasts a stellar GPA and has earned Capital One Academic All-District and Landmark All-Academic honors three times.

Matthew Lutcza from Dingmans Ferry, Pa. produced an All-Conference season and helped Moravian captured its first Landmark Cross Country Championship. He also earned All-Region accolades for the second-straight season by finishing 27th at the NCAA Mid-East Regional. This marks his third All-Academic selection and the computer science major has earned Dean's List distinction six times.

Cadee Rockwell of Sinking Spring, Pa. was named the Landmark Women's Cross Country Outstanding Performer as she placed first at the 2011 Landmark Championships, and helped Moravian capture the Landmark title. She followed it up by earning All-Region honors at the NCAA Regionals. A five-time Dean's List honoree, she is majoring in psychology and studio art, and this is her third All-Academic nod.

Jason Bohenek of Jessup, Pa., produced a third All-Conference performance in men's cross country in his senior season for Scranton. He earned first-team All-Conference honors for the second time as a senior, and he was also a four-time NCAA Regional participant. The senior has a strong GPA as an environmental science and philosophy major, and this marks his second selection to the Landmark All-Academic Team.

Kathleen Druther, a native of South Abington Township, Pa., has been a standout for Scranton women's cross country team. She is a two-time All-Conference performer for the Royals and was the 2009 Landmark Rookie of the Year, helping the team claim a Landmark Championship. She has twice earned Landmark Academic Honor Roll status, and is working towards a degree in biology.

Emily Farrell of Telford, Pa. has started 58 career matches for the Scranton women's soccer team, playing a key role in a pair of Landmark Championships. She earned first-team All-Conference honors in 2010 and helped the Royals post consecutive unbeaten Landmark seasons. She is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, including a first-team selection as a junior, and is studying early and elementary education.

Bill McGuiness from Forty Fort, Pa. has been a standout for the Scranton men's soccer team in his two years with the program. He's accumulated four goals and six assists over two seasons, and earned All-Conference honors twice, with a first-team selection after his junior year. He is studying finance at Scranton and has twice claimed Landmark Academic Honor Roll accolades with a strong cumulative GPA.

Hadley Elsenbaumer of Fogelsville, Pa., helped the Susquehanna women's soccer team capture a second Landmark postseason berth in three years. She scored her first career goal in her senior year, with a career-high three assists, and closed her career with six points in 40 matches. She is majoring in business administration with an emphasis in finance, and has earned Dean's List distinction in four semesters.

Andrew Murphy from Natick, Mass. emerged as a go-to performer for the Susquehanna men's soccer team in his sophomore season. He ranked among the Landmark leaders with nine goals and four assists, and led the team in both categories, and produced five game-winning goals. He has already earned Dean's List honors twice as well as Landmark Academic Honor Roll this year as a business administration major.

Kate Reese of Wellsboro, Pa. was a key part of the Susquehanna volleyball team for the past four seasons. The libero surpassed the 1,000 dig mark for her career this season, finishing with 1,198 which ties for fifth-best in school history. She had career-highs in digs (571), aces (45) and assists (17) in her senior year. An accounting major, she also competes for the Susquehanna softball team and was a team captain.

Joe Zamadics, a native of West Chester, Pa., earns Fall All-Academic honors for the second time, and a fifth-time overall. He earned All-Conference honors by placing eighth at the Landmark Cross Country Championships, and also set a new personal best at 4,000-meters this year. He has a stellar GPA with a major in economics, is a DJ for the campus radio station and has multiple Academic Honor Roll selections.

Patricia Evenson from Bismark, N.D. was a consistent performer for the USMMA women's cross country team in her sophomore season. She produced her fastest 6,000-meter time at the Paul Short Invitational with a time of 31:11 and also ran a season-best 26:13.17 for 5,000-meters, and helped the team place seventh at the Landmark meet. She has established an excellent GPA in her first two years at the Academy.

Grace Mariani of Amherst, N.Y. had a solid sophomore season for the USMMA volleyball program team. She played in 71 matches for the year, piling up 66 kills which ranked sixth on the team. She was an all-around contributor with six aces, 29 digs, and five blocks for 75 total points. She earned Academic Honor Roll status in her first year of eligibility and has a strong GPA while studying system engineering.

Gary Poulin of Hauppauge, N.Y. earned All-Conference honors for the second time and helped USMMA to its first Landmark men's soccer championship. He posted shutouts in both postseason matches, and had four on the year with a 1.10 goals against average. He is majoring in marine engineering systems, has served as company academic officer, and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection as a junior.

Sam Sanford, a native of Portland, Ore., was a consistent top-5 runner for the USMMA men's cross country team. He was the team's seventh runner across the line at the Landmark Championship, and his time of 28:56.06 at the C.W. Post Invitational ranked fourth best at that distance. He has earned a near-perfect GPA in the early going in the challenging marine engineering program.
