MADISON, N.J. – The Landmark Conference has announced the
selection of 32 student-athletes to the 2010 Fall Landmark
All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of
the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which
honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically.
Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark fall sports and must
be a sophomore or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
The fall All-Academic Team features 16 seniors, 14 juniors and
two sophomores. Twelve of the 32 honorees are earning All-Academic
honors for the second time in their career, while one honoree
claims the honor for a third time. In addition all six fall sports
sponsored by the Landmark Conference are represented with at least
one student-athlete. The Landmark Conference will select an
All-Academic Team for each of the three athletics seasons during
the year.

Caitlin Conroy from Telford, Pa. has had two productive seasons
for the Catholic women's soccer team. She helped the team to a
Landmark Championships as a freshman scoring one goal and notching
three assists and followed up with a strong sophomore season. She
has also excelled in the classroom in her first two years with a
stellar GPA as a politics major and has earned Academic Honor Roll
status.
Matt Hofrichter of Great River, N.Y. has been a part of
back-to-back Landmark Championships for the Catholic men's soccer
team including playing in all 21 games and picked up one assist in
his senior season. This is his second time on the Fall All-Academic
Team and he is nearing a degree in biology. He is a multi-year
Dean's List choice and also has earned Academic Honor Roll three
times.
Katherine Sacker, a native of Catonsville, Md., also earns
All-Academic recognition for the second time in her career
following a strong junior cross country season. She had three
top-25 finishes in her junior year and a 31st-place finish at the
Landmark Championships where she helped Catholic place sixth. She
has twice earned Landmark Academic Honor Roll recognition and is
majoring in nursing at Catholic.
Pete Wawrsuzin, a native of Potomac, Md., earned All-Academic
distinction after Catholic claimed its second-straight Landmark
Men's Soccer Championship. He made 18 starts for the Cardinals
helping to anchor a defense that had nine shutouts and a 0.95 goals
against average for the season. The psychology major boasts a
stellar GPA and has three Academic Honor Roll selections to his
credit.
Kati Eggert of Denville, NJ was selected the Landmark Field
Hockey Offensive Player of the Year following her senior season.
She scored a Landmark-best 18 goals and led the conference with 45
points. A three-sport athlete for Drew, this marks her third
selection to an All-Academic Team, as she pursues a degree in art
with a minor in education. Eggert also earned the Irene Meyer Award
for aspiring teachers.
Curtis Fornarotto of Ewing, N.J. earned first-team
All-Conference honors for the Drew men's soccer team as a senior.
He is a two-time All-Conference choice and anchored a defense that
allowed only three goals in conference matches. He is studying
economics and political science, is the President of the Drew
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee,while also serving on numerous
other organizations and committees.
Adrian Kawuba of Watertown, Mass. closed his senior season for
the Drew men's soccer team by earning first-team All-Conference
honors. He spearheaded the team's offense with five goals and five
assists, including the match winner against rival FDU-Florham. He
has earned Dean's List distinction all but one semester as a
business studies major and a French minor, and is a member of the
French Honor Society.
Emily Weida from Lancaster, Pa. helped Drew reach the Landmark
Women's Soccer Championship as the team's leading scorer and was
second on the team in 16 points. She earned first-team
All-Conference selection for the second-straight season and ranked
among the Landmark goal leaders. She is majoring in art with a
minor in Spanish and has been a Dean's List honoree each of her
three years at Drew.
Dan Brody from Stonington, Conn. has been a steady force for the
Goucher men's soccer team during a stellar four-year career. A
four-year letterwinner with six goals and six assists for his
career he scored once and produced one assist in his senior
campaign. He has three Academic Honor Roll selections to his credit
and is pursuing a degree in English with a minor in pre-law.
Micki Manheimr, a native of Falmouth, Maine, collects her second
All-Academic selection following another strong season for the
Gophers field hockey team. She led the Landmark in saves and earned
All-Conference honors while posting a 2.10 goals against average in
17 starts. She boasts a strong GPA while majoring in communications
and has twice earned Landmark Academic Honor Roll distinction.
Kasey Quinn of Ellicott City, Md, adds All-Academic honors to a
selection to the Landmark Volleyball All-Conference Team in her
senior year. She closed her career ranked sixth in school history
in digs and she led the team in digs and was second in kills and
aces as a senior. Quinn will graduate this year with a degree in
religion with a minor in Spanish and has maintained an excellent
GPA over her four years.
Adam Scipione of Wallpole, Mass. closed a stellar cross country
career this fall. He placed 16th at the Landmark Championships,
narrowly missing an All-Conference spot and running a time of
28:16.60. This is his second All-Academic selection as he earned
the honor in the winter of his junior year, and the philosophy and
business management major is a multi-time Academic Honor Roll
pick.
Caitlin Bowman, a native of Seven Valleys, Pa., helped Juniata
to a fourth-straight Landmark Field Hockey Championship as she
scored three goals and added three assists. She has piled up nine
goals and six assists in three seasons for 24 points. She received
a scholarship from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Association, plays viola in the Juniata Orchestra and is majoring
in biology.
Kenny Goodfellow of Duncansville, Pa. has enjoyed a strong
career for the Juniata cross country team. He posted a top-30
finish for the Eagles at the Landmark Championship, helping the
team to a second-place finish. In the classroom he has a perfect
GPA and is a recipient of the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and
several awards given to outstanding Juniata science students. He is
majoring in physics and mathematics.
Jeff Gring of Mechanicsburg, Pa. finished the season with three
goals and three assists for the Juniata men's soccer team. He had
two game-winning goals this year and has five goals and three
assists over his three seasons. His research placed second at the
Landmark Summer Research Symposium, he volunteers at the Huntingdon
Humane Society and is majoring in biology with a minor in
environmental studies.
Nikki Hankinson, from New Baltimore, Pa., moved to defender
after two years at forward for the Juniata women's soccer team,
scoring one goal this year, giving her four goals and an assist in
three years. She was also picked as the Landmark Defensive Player
of the Week once. An elementary and special education major, she
studied abroad in France, is active in Campus Ministry and
volunteers for the Special Olympics.
Diana Feldmann, a native of York, Pa., helped anchored the
Moravian women's soccer team defense. She was a second-team
All-Conference pick as a junior following a first-team selection as
a sophomore. This is her second-straight All-Academic selection and
she boasts a perfect GPA while majoring in environmental science.
She was chosen for the ESPN Academic All-District Team each of the
past two years.
Brian Hunscher of Ypsilanti, Mich. closed a strong career for
the men's soccer program with 66 career appearances over four
seasons. He served as a team captain in his senior season and
produced five assists in his career as a defender and midfielder.
He is a double major in mathematics and education, has been on the
Dean's List every semester, and is a three-time Landmark Academic
Honor Roll choice as well.
Matthew Lutcza from Dingmans Ferry, Pa. earned the Landmark
Conference Men's Cross Country Outstanding Performer after winning
the Landmark Cross Country Championship. He also earned All-Region
honors with a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Regional and qualified
for the NCAA Championships. A is studying computer science and he
is a four-time member of the Dean's List.
Cadee Rockwell of Sinking Spring, Pa. had a memorable season for
the Moravian women's cross country team. She was a first-team
All-Conference honoree by placing third at the Landmark
Championships, then earned All-Region honors with a 17th-place
finish at the NCAA Regionals and qualified for the NCAA
Championships. She is studying psychology and studio art and is a
three-time Dean's List honoree.
Jason Bohenek of Jessup, Pa., closed a strong career for the
Scranton cross country team with a top-10 finish at the Landmark
Championship. He earned his second All-Conference recognition in
his senior year after earning first-team honors as a junior. The
senior has a stellar GPA as an environmental science and philosophy
major and has earned Landmark Academic Honor Roll status on two
occasions.
Michael Drew, a native of Sellersville, Pa., has been a
consistent force for the Scranton men's soccer team throughout his
career. He was an All-Conference choice as a junior and finished
his career with 23 goals and 10 assists for 56 points in 66
matches. This is his second All-Academic selection and he has also
earned Landmark Academic Honor Roll status three times as an
exercise science major.
Beth McLaughlin of Middletown, N.J. was a standout for the
Scranton field hockey team over four seasons. She earned
All-Conference honors following her senior season, becoming the
first player in Scranton field hockey history to earn
All-Conference honors four times. She has earned three Academic
Honor Roll choices as an elementary and special education major
with an outstanding cumulative GPA.
Chelsea Paskman from Chalfont, Pa. has been a dominant performer
for Scranton over a four-year career capped by being named Landmark
Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year for the second time.
She was a four-time All-Conference selection along with earning
All-America and All-Region accolades as a junior. She will earn a
degree in psychology and has twice been an All-Academic choice.
Julia Amendola of Mountain Top, Pa., had a strong senior season
for the Susquehanna field hockey team by being chosen as an
All-Region performer. She had a career high six goals and 10
assists this season, was invited to play in the NFHCA DIII Senior
Game, and earned a third All-Conference selection. A business
administration major this is her second selection to the Landmark
Fall All-Academic Team.
Brandon Eisenhart from Mechanicsburg, Pa. appeared in 74 games
over a four-year career for the Susquehanna men's soccer team. He
scored three goals, including two game winners, along with four
assists in his career, and was an All-Conference performer in his
junior and senior year. He claims his second All-Academic Team
honor and will graduate with a degree in psychology and German.
Samantha Price of Minersville, Pa. claims All-Academic honors
after her junior year for the Susquehanna women's soccer team. She
played 18 matches and made eight starts as a junior, producing one
assist which gives her three goals and four assists for her
four-year career. In the classroom she has compiled an outstanding
GPA as a biology student and has twice earned Landmark Academic
Honor Roll recognition.
Joe Zamadics, a native of West Chester, Pa., has been a standout
runner for the Susquehanna cross country teams, and helped the
Crusaders win their fourth-straight Landmark Cross Country
Championship this fall with a 17th-place finish, and he was an
All-Conference runner in his sophomore year. He is majoring in
economics with a nearly perfect GPA and this marks his second
All-Academic Team selection.
Cristina Fernandez-O'Toole from Washington Depot, Conn. enjoyed
a strong four-year career for the USMMA women's cross country team.
She served as a captain for the Mariners in her senior season and
was the team's second finisher at the 2010 Cross Country
Championships. She's maintained a strong GPA as a marine
transportation major and earned Academic Honor Roll status three
times in her career.
Ana Fuschetto of Swink, Colo. earns All-Academic honors for the
second time in her career after four years with the USMMA
volleyball team. She was the team's starting libero and captain as
a senior, and ranked among the Landmark leaders in digs while also
seeing time at setter. She is studying logistics and intermodal
transportation at the academy and is a three-time Academic Honor
Roll selection.
Gary Poulin of Hauppauge, N.Y. has enjoyed two outstanding
seasons as the goalkeeper for the USMMA men's soccer team. He
earned All-Conference honors as a sophomore and helped the Mariners
advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals while ranking first in the
Landmark in goals against average. He is studying marine
engineering and boasts a strong GPA and claimed Academic Honor Roll
status as a sophomore.
Warren Tucker, a native of Madera, Calif., closed a strong
career for the USMMA men's cross country team this fall. He was a
top-5 performer for the Mariners throughout his career and helped
the team place in the top-six in the conference in each of his four
years. A marine engineering and shipyard management major he will
earn his degree with a near perfect GPA and several Academic Honor
Roll selections.
