  • Athlete of the Week - Connor Harding, Scranton
    May 07, 2018
    (Fr., UTIL/P - Vestal, N.Y.) Scranton freshman Connor Harding had a big week, going 9-for-22 (.409) with a .500 on-base percentage. He had three multiple-hit games and went 5-for-10 in a three-game Landmark Conference series against Susquehanna over the weekend. He also had four RBIs, three runs and stole a pair of bases on the week as Scranton went 3-3 and locked up the no. 3 seed in this coming weekend's Landmark Conference playoffs. His two-out RBI triple in the bottom of the ninth in Saturday's second game forced extra innings and allowed the Royals to go on to defeat Susquehanna, 6-5.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Anthony Lippy, Elizabethtown
    May 07, 2018
    (Sr, RHP - Hanover, Pa.) Elizabethtown senior Anthony Lippy picked up his Landmark-leading sixth win of the season with a complete game six-hitter on Friday at Drew. Lippy tied a career-high with eight strikeouts for the second game in a row and silenced the Ranger bats, holding them to just one earned run (two total) on six hits. The righty from Hanover, Pennsylvania only issued one walk en route to a nine-inning complete game and his conference-best sixth complete game of the season.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Derek Manning, Elizabethtown
    April 30, 2018
    (So, OF - East Petersburg, Pa.) E-town junior Derek Manning batted .560 with 14 hits in 25 at-bats and raised his conference-best batting average to .434 in the process. Manning had five multi-hit performances in seven games, including three straight three-hit efforts. Six of his hits went for extra bases (five doubles, one triple) and he drove in 10 runs. The outfielder also scored nine runs, walked three times, did not register a strikeout and stole three bases. Manning went 3-for-3 with two RBI and two stolen bases in a 12-11 non-conference win over Franklin & Marshall on Monday. He only bolstered a hot start to the week with his efforts in a doubleheader sweep of Scranton on Tuesday. Manning had three hits in each game and four RBI in game two, finishing the twin bill 6-for-11 with four doubles, four RBI and four runs scored. Manning finished the week with a pair of two-hit games in victories over Juniata.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Anthony Lippy, Elizabethtown
    April 30, 2018
    (Sr, RHP - Hanover, Pa.) Elizabethtown senior pitcher Anthony Lippy threw a complete game three-hitter and matched a career-high with eight strikeouts in an 8-2 game one victory over Juniata on Saturday. Lippy allowed just one earned run (two total) and one walk in another dominant performance.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Tommy Trotter, Scranton

    (Sr., OF - Cranford, N.J) Scranton senior Tommy Trotter had a huge week at the plate, going 12-for-21 with a triple and two homers, and notching the 200th hit of his career. His week started with a 3-for-4 performance with a homer, an RBI and a run in a 7-4 loss to Widener on Wednesday. On Friday, he went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs, three RBI and four stolen bases in a 14-6 win over Marywood. In Saturday's doubleheader sweep at Drew, he was a combined 3-for-8 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base while picking up that milestone 200th hit in the second game. On Sunday, he went 3-for-5 with a homer, an RBI and two runs as the Royals completed the sweep with a 14-3 win.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Mike Garvey, Elizabethtown
    April 23, 2018
    (Jr, RHP - Middletown, N.J.) In his lone start of the week, E-town junior pitcher Mike Garvey locked up Susquehanna for eight innings in a 5-1 victory on Sunday. Garvey was nearly flawless in the winning effort, allowing just one run on six hits and striking out a career-high nine. He held the River Hawk bats down long enough to watch his team break a 1-1 tie with a three-spot in the bottom of the seventh and add an insurance run in the eighth.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Brennan Cotter, Catholic
    April 16, 2018
    (Sr., 1B, Oakland, N.J.) Senior Brennan Cotter made Catholic baseball history this week when he hit two homers in Scranton to become the Cardinals single-season homerun leader (9). Cotter hit 6-of-9 with six RBIs and three runs during Saturday's doubleheader victory over the Royals. He hit 4-of-4 in game one before he lobbed a pair of 2-RBI homers over the fence in game two to tie recent Catholic Hall of Fame inductee Neil Roach '90 for most career homeruns (17). During Sunday's series finale Cotter went 1-of-1 as Scranton walked the league standout four times. Cotter earned a .632 batting average over a five-game this week. Along with leading the league in home runs (9), he is No. 1 in RBIs at 46, which is 16 ahead of the No. 2 spot.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Bobby Grigas, Susquehanna
    April 16, 2018
    (So., P - Frackville, Pa.) Susquehanna sophomore Bobby Grigas went the distance for the River Hawks on Saturday, tossing a complete-game shutout against Juniata. Grigas allowed five hits over seven innings with no walks and fanned seven hitters.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Brennan Cotter, Catholic
    April 09, 2018
    (Sr., 1B, Oakland, N.J.) Catholic senior Brennan Cotter recorded 10 hits in 12 at-bats for a .833 batting average to help Catholic to a 3-1 week. Cotter added 10 RBIs and five runs over four games including five RBIs and three runs on two home runs and a double in the Cardinals series-opening win over the Blue Jays. The Oakland, N.J. native hit 3-of-3 in game two of the series while batting 2-of-3 in game three. After the week, Cotter jumped to the top of the Landmark leaderboards with five homeruns and 36 RBIs on the season.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Rhett Jacoby, Moravian
    April 09, 2018
    (Jr, P - Orefield, Pa.) Moravian junior Rhett Jacoby tossed a complete-game, six-hit shutout in the Greyhounds' 1-0 win at Susquehanna University. Jacoby also allowed two walks to go along with six strikeouts for his fifth win of the season. He also had one assist in the field.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Austin Markowski, Moravian
    April 02, 2018
    (Jr, OF - Neshanic Station, N.J.) Moravian junior Austin Markowski helped the Greyhounds to a sweep of Juniata College and an overall record of 3-1 for the week in Landmark Conference action. Markowski hit .538 for the week, going 7-for-13 at the plate to go along with five runs, seven RBI, a double and two homers for a 1.077 slugging percentage. Markowski also drew three walks for a .625 on-base percentage and he had one stolen base.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Braden Stinar, Elizabethtown
    April 02, 2018
    (Jr, RHP - Forest Hill, Md.) In his only appearance of the week, junior righty Braden Stinar limited Moravian to one unearned run over seven innings during Elizabethtown's 10-3 victory on Monday. Stinar allowed just four hits and struck out seven in a dominant performance. Only one of the hits --a seventh-inning double-- went for extra bases. He retired the Greyhounds in order in the second and fifth innings and also faced the minimum three batters in the sixth.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Max Felsenstein, Drew
    March 26, 2018
    (So, OF - Glen Rock, N.J.) Drew sophomore Max Felsenstein hit a combined .333 in the Rangers' two wins over No. 14 Catholic over the weekend. He had two hits, including a double, in game two of Saturday's doubleheader, a 6-4 victory. Felsenstein scored four runs in the 11-inning, 10-8 win on Sunday and crushed a two-run homer in the fifth inning that gave Drew a 7-6 lead. The sophomore also walked three times in the contest and adding a stolen base in each of the two games.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Nicholas Mazzella, Moravian
    March 26, 2018
    (Sr, P - Bethlehem, Pa.) Moravian senior Nicholas Mazzella tossed a complete game in the Greyhounds' 6-1 win over Elizabethtown College Sunday to begin a Landmark Conference series. He allowed a run on three hits and two walks to go with a season-high seven strikeouts in the seven-inning game. Mazzella also had one putout and two assists in three chances in the field.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Chase Standen, Scranton
    March 19, 2018
    (Sr., OF - Newtown Square, Pa.) Scranton senior Chase Standen had a monster weekend to help the Royals win two of three at Juniata to open Landmark Conference play. He went 8-for-13 with two doubles, three home runs (one in each game), 14 RBI and seven runs scored in the three game series. He had a grand slam, double, five RBI and two runs in a 15-5 win in the opening game; he doubled, homered, drove in three and scored a run in a 7-6 loss in game two, and homered, singled three times, drove in six and scored four in a 17-4 win in the final game. Standen was also 5-for-15 with two doubles, three RBI and three runs in four games in Florida earlier in the week. He finished the week hitting .464 with a .929 slugging percentage, 17 RBI, 10 runs and 13 hits in seven games.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Pat Rohr, Scranton
    March 19, 2018
    (Jr., P - Audubon, Pa.) Scranton junior Pat Rohr made two appearances for the Royals and picked up the victory both times. He worked 5 1/3 innings of relief in a 12-6 win over Messiah on Monday, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits and two walks while striking out two. On Sunday, he got the start against Juniata and held the Eagles to two runs, one earned, on six hits and two walks whiles striking out three in six innings of a 17-4 win. For the week, he gave up four runs, two earned, on nine hits and four walks while striking out five in 11 1/3 innings.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Brennan Cotter, Catholic
    March 12, 2018
    (Sr., 1B) Catholic senior Brennan Cotter helped the Cardinals to an undefeated 5-0 Spring Break trip to advance their overall record to 11-0. Cotter recorded a hit and an RBI in all five games while making it across the plate five times throughout the week. He registered 12 RBI while in Mytrle Beach including a three-run homer in the first inning if Catholic's 19-4 win over Mt. Aloysius. He recorded a second home run that same game and hit doubles against Penn State Berks and Hampden-Sydney. Cotter when 9-of-21 this week for a batting average of .429.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Rhett Jacoby, Moravian
    March 12, 2018
    (Jr, P - Orefield, Pa.) Moravian junior Rhett Jacoby tossed a complete game with a career-high 12 strikeouts in a 9-1 win over Heidelberg (Ohio) University at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida. Jacoby allowed an unearned run on six hits and did not allow a walk in the victory while recording an assist.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Connor Sullivan, Catholic
    March 05, 2018
    (So., OF) Catholic baseball remains undefeated at 6-0 after topping Washington College on Wednesday and Haverford in a doubleheader on Saturday. Sophomore left fielder Connor Sullivan started all three games and batted 5-of-9 for the week with the RBI's a double and a run. After coming across the plate in game one versus Haverford, Sullivan record drove in the winning run of game two when he drove an RBI-single to left field in the fifth inning.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Jack Ropelewski, Catholic
    March 05, 2018
    (So., P) Catholic sophomore Jack Ropelewski recorded his first career win and save this week after the Cardinals topped Washington College on Wednesday and Haverford College on Saturday. Ropelewski faced nine batters in three innings and tossed four strikeouts for the midweek victory over the Shoreman. Ropelewski pitched the final 1.2 innings facing just five batters and recorded one strikeout for save.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Evan Kulig, Moravian
    February 26, 2018
    (Jr, 3B - Allentown, Pa.) Moravian junior Evan Kulig helped Moravian to a 2-1 record at the Floyd B. Wilcox Memorial Tournament hosted Hampden-Sydney (Va.) College to open the 2018 season. Kulig hit .462 (6-for-13) with two hits in each game, and he added three doubles, four runs and five RBIs. He also had one putout and four assists in eight chances in the field and he faced one batter on the mound. Kulig was 2-for-5 with a double and five RBIs in a season opening 10-0 win over Stevenson University, and he was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles in a 2-0 win over Hampden-Sydney. He also had a 2-for-4 game in a 9-7 loss to Wesley (Del.) College.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Rhett Jacoby, Moravian
    February 26, 2018
    (Jr, P - Orefield, Pa.) Moravian junior Rhett Jacoby tossed the first seven innings of the Greyhounds' season-opening 10-0 win over Stevenson University at the Floyd B. Wilcox Memorial Tournament hosted by Hampden-Sydney College as Moravian tossed two shutouts in the first two games of the season. Jacoby scattered two hits and struck out five batters in his seven innings of action, and he also had a putout and an assist and the only stolen base attempt against him was thrown out.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Jack Hennessy, Catholic
    February 19, 2018
    (Sr., SS - LaPlata, Md.) Catholic senior Jack Hennessy spear-headed Catholic to a season-opening sweep of Cabrini and hit the walk-off single in the second game of the doubleheader. The senior shortstop went 4-for-6 in the two-game set including a 3-for-3 game with two RBI in the second contest. In game one he added a hit and a walk as the Cardinals also won in walk-off fashion.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Collin Brown, Catholic
    February 19, 2018
    (Jr., P - , 12) Catholic started the season with two walk-off wins thanks large-in-part to the pitching of junior Collin Brown. Trailing 2-1 in the first game against Cabrini, Brown entered in relief and was nearly unhittable, stymying the Cavalier bats over 3.0 innings with six strikeouts as he picked up the Cardinals first victory of the year.
