2019-20 Baseball Athletes of the Week

 
  • Athlete of the Week - Craig Roumes, Susquehanna
    March 16, 2020
    (Sr, Inf. - Succasunna, N.J.) Susquehanna senior Craig Roumes hit .360 (9-for-25 with four doubles and a homer) in a 5-2 week for Susquehanna, including a win over No. 15 Marietta. Roumes hit safely in five of seven games, including three straight games between Mar. 9-12. In a 5-3 win over Heidelberg, he notched a season-best three hits as he connected on two doubles, drove in two runs and scored one. Roumes went 2-for-3 with a home run and a season-high three RBI in a 6-1 win over Baldwin Wallace.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Jack Dovidio, Juniata
    March 16, 2020
    (Fr., P/Inf - Glenmore, Pa.) Juniata freshman Jack Dovidio earned a pair of wins last week during the Eagles spring break trip. In the 10-5 win against Becker, Dovidio tossed 5 1/3 innings, allowing no runs on one hit and fanned four. In the 3-1 win against Keene State, he allowed one run on six hits with six strikeouts in five innings of work. In total, the freshman allowed one run on seven hits while posting 10 strikeouts.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Ben Watson, Elizabethtown
    March 09, 2020
    (Fr., OF/LHP - Glen Mills, Pa.) Elizabethtown freshman Ben Watson had a monster week in Florida, leading the Blue Jays to a 5-1 record this past week. The Glen Mills, Pa. native hit .429 with nine RBI, six runs scored and his first collegiate home run. In Elizabethtown's doubleheader against Muskingum, Watson tallied four hits, three RBI, a double, a home run and four runs scored.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Hunter Ralston, Scranton
    March 09, 2020
    (Fr., P - Duryea, Pa.) Scranton freshman Hunter Ralston tossed a complete game gem to lift the Royals to a 2-1 win over Albright in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. The right-hander allowed just one unearned run on three hits while fanning four in seven innings of work. Ralston carried a no-hitter through the first 5 1/3 innings pitched of the contest.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Derek Manning, Elizabethtown
    March 02, 2020
    (Sr., OF - East Petersburg, Pa.) Elizabethtown College senior Derek Manning mashed three doubles, leading Elizabethtown to two victories on day one of the team's spring break trip. The East Petersburg, Pa. native went 3-6 with three RBI and two runs scored to pace the Blue Jays offense.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Eddie Olsen, Moravian
    March 02, 2020
    (So., P - Easton, Pa.) Moravian College sophomore Eddie Olsen tossed the first six innings of the Greyhounds 15-0 win over New England College in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Sunday night to begin Moravian's spring trip to the Ripken Experience. Olsen scattered two hits and a walk while striking out a career high 10 batters over his six innings.
     
  • Athlete of the Week - Michael Doody, Catholic
    February 24, 2020
    (Jr., OF - Coventry, Conn.) Junior Michael Doody has hit safely in all four of Catholic's games this season and has four multi-hit games. He is currently hitting .563 with nine hits in 16 at-bats, including three doubles. He went 7-for-12 with three doubles, two RBI and a run scored in a three-game series against Montclair State, totaled five of the team's 11 hits in a doubleheader on Saturday.
     
  • Pitcher of the Week - Jeff Serin, Drew
    February 24, 2020
    (Sr, P - Hillsborough, N.J.) Drew senior Jeff Serin enjoyed a tremendous season debut for the Rangers, firing five scoreless innings to pick up the win in Drew's 3-1 victory at Kean, ranked No. 5 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and No. 11 in the D3baseball.com preseason poll. He struck out nine batters and allowed only one walk. He also helped himself by picking a runner off first base in the third, and he went on to retire seven of the last eight batters he faced before exiting after 88 pitches.
