Defensive Athlete of the Week - Onalee Long, Moravian October 25, 2021 Long helped the Greyhounds to a 2-1 win over previously unbeaten The University of Scranton. The sophomore made a pair of important defensive saves in the contest. She made her first save late in the second period to keep the Royals from taking a 1-0 lead, and added her second save early in the fourth period. She also contributed offensively with a goal. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Allie Benadon, Scranton October 18, 2021 Benadon tallied two goals and an assist on the week as the Royals remained unbeaten and improved to 13-0 on the season. She registered a goal and an assist in a 7-0 win over Drew on Wednesday and added a goal in Saturday's key 2-1 win at Catholic that gave Scranton sole possession of first place in the Landmark Conference. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Brooke Wilkinson, Moravian October 18, 2021 Wilkinson posted a pair of wins as the Greyhounds extended their winning streak to seven games and clinched the first Landmark Conference Tournament appearance in program history. Wilkinson had four saves, a shutout, and a 0.50 goals-against average during the week. She made four saves in Moravian's 5-1 win over Elizabethtown College. The victory at Juniata was also Wilkinson's and the team's 11th win of the year, both setting school records. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Sydney Anderson, Moravian October 11, 2021 Anderson led Moravian with four goals in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds as the squad extended its winning streak to five games and tied the best start in school history at 9-2, matching the 1992 squad. Anderson had one goal in Moravian's 4-0 non-conference win over Delaware Valley University. She then had her first career hat trick with all three goals in the Greyhounds, 3-2 overtime win over No. 20 Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action, Moravian's first-ever victory over a nationally-ranked program. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Maeve McCarthy, Catholic October 11, 2021 McCarthy made four saves to earn her first career shutout in a convincing 10-0 Landmark Conference road victory over Drew Saturday. She started both games in goal for the Cardinals last week, totaling a .750 save percentage and a 1.34 goals-against average in 133:52. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Sydney Anderson, Moravian October 04, 2021 Anderson helped Moravian to a 2-0 record last week, including the Greyhounds' first Landmark Conference win of the year. Anderson netted four goals to go with one assist and two game-winning goals. She had both goals in a 2-1 non-conference victory at King's College. Anderson then had two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win at Goucher College. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Clare Maguire, Scranton October 04, 2021 Maguire notched a pair of shutouts on the week as the Royals improved to 9-0 on the year with victories over Albright and Juniata. The Oreland, Pa., native made three saves in a double-overtime win at Albright on Tuesday and added three more saves in a 4-0 win over Juniata over the weekend to notch her fourth and fifth shutouts of the season. The sophomore forward started the week with a pair of goals in a dominant 5-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday and capped it in style with her first career hat trick in Saturday's 3-0 victory at No. 17 Susquehanna. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Clare Maguire, Scranton September 27, 2021 Maguire tallied five saves in her lone start of the week as the Royals remained unbeaten with a 3-0 victory at No. 17 Susquehanna on Saturday. The shutout marked the third of the year for the Oreland, Pa., native who has allowed just one goal in 253:45 of action. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Alexa Thomas, Drew September 20, 2021 Thomas racked up four goals, including a pair of game-winners, in a 2-0 week for Drew. In a 3-1 win over Delaware Valley, she staked the Rangers to a 2-0 lead by scoring the team's first two goals. She followed with two more tallies in a 3-2 victory over King's, scoring the game's first goal before drilling in the go-ahead marker with 8:46 remaining. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Gianna Travia, Scranton September 20, 2021 Gianna Travia played in parts of all three games on the week for the Royals and made her first career start in Sunday's 1-0 win at Muhlenberg during which she notched the shutout. On the week, Travia did not allow a goal in 118 minutes of action and tallied three saves as the Royals remained unbeaten with a 3-0 week. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Ava Edwards, Moravian September 13, 2021 Edwards helped Moravian to a 2-0 record in non-conference action last week. She had just one shot in Moravian's 2-1 win versus Immaculata University before setting school records with five goals and 12 points in a 10-0 victory at Neumann University. Edwards scored the game's opening goal and would add two assists as she netted her second hat trick in three games and now has eight goals on the year. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Katie Koch, Susquehanna September 07, 2021 Susquehanna University senior Katie Koch helped the River Hawks off to great starting, defeating two ranked National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) teams. She had the game winning goal against Christopher Newport University, the #14 team in the country, early in the final period. She followed that up with an assist on the first goal of the game on Sunday, tying the game against the #5 team in Division III Salisbury University. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Mackenzie Bross, Susquehanna September 07, 2021 Susquehanna University junior Mackenzie Bross lead the defensive effort that beat two National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) ranked teams over the weekend. Mackenzie had six saves in each game and gave up just on goal that came on a penalty stroke. She played all 60 minutes and each game as well.
