2021 Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week Offensive Athlete of the Week - Michael Morelli, Susquehanna November 01, 2021 Michael Morelli continued his torrid stretch of late, scoring three goals over two games this past week. In the team's final non-conference game of the year against Immaculata, the junior forward scored twice to lead his team to the win. Morelli gave his team an early 1-0 lead over Goucher in the regular-season finale. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Calum Erlenborn, Drew November 01, 2021 Erlenborn made a career-high six saves in Drew's 3-0 victory at Moravian. He posted three of his stops in the first half when the score was still tied at 0-0. Erlenborn has allowed just two goals and has recorded two shutouts during the Rangers' current four-game winning streak. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Kevin Kiernan, Drew October 25, 2021 Kiernan continued his hot streak, scoring a pair of goals to help the Rangers clinch a Landmark Conference playoff berth with a 2-0 week. He netted his first career golden goal in a 1-0 overtime victory over Scranton, then scored the opening tally in a 2-1 overtime win against Elizabethtown. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Austin Coron, Catholic October 25, 2021 Coron allowed just two goals and collected seven saves in two conference contests last week, both victories, as Catholic remained in first place in the conference standings, breaking a four-way tie. He is now unbeaten in his last four starts against conference competition, posting a 3-0-1 record. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Adrian Dilascio, Susquehanna October 18, 2021 Adrian Dilascio was instrumental in the two wins for the River Hawks this past week. Dilascio assisted on two of the team's goals in their non-conference win on Wednesday and scored the first goal of the game in a conference win against Elizabethtown. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Jake Hodlofski, Scranton October 18, 2021 Hodlofski made a total of 11 saves on the week as the Royals played to a draw in both matches. The senior keeper notched a pair of saves in a 1-1 draw at Ursinus on Tuesday, and closed the week with a season-high nine saves in a 1-1 draw with Catholic on Saturday. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Gordie Bernlohr, Catholic October 11, 2021 Bernlohr scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 Landmark Conference victory over Drew on Saturday as the Cardinals scored two unanswered goals in the final 23 minutes to rally from a 1-0 deficit. Bernlohr netted his second game-winner of the season with just eight minutes remaining on the team's 18th and final shot of the game. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Kelvin Del Cid, Elizabethtown October 11, 2021 Junior Kelvin Del Cid led the Elizabethtown College men's soccer team to back-to-back shutouts this past week, topping Penn State Berks (4-0) and Juniata (3-0). The Reading, Pa. native combined for nine saves in 167:39 minutes of work. Del Cid has not allowed a goal in his last 258:45 in goal, including two Landmark Conference shutouts. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Jeremiah Odubade, Goucher October 04, 2021 Odubade totaled two goals and an assist in Saturday's 3-0 win at Moravian, the Gophers first win over the Greyhounds since 2014. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Jeff Castro, Goucher October 04, 2021 Castro posted a 0.45 goals-against average, and a .900 save percentage in a 1-0-1 week. He tallied six saves in a 1-1 tie against Lancaster Bible, a team that entered Tuesday's game 6-1-1, then made three saves in a shutout of Moravian, his third clean sheet of the season. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Gordie Bernlohr, Catholic September 27, 2021 Bernlohr had a point in both games last week with one goal and one assist. The Cardinals have posted a 12-0-1 record in their last 13 conference contests in the regular season dating back to Oct. 6, 2018. Catholic has also posted five consecutive shutouts in Landmark Conference games, lengthening its scoreless streak to 460:57. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Kelvin Del Cid, Elizabethtown September 27, 2021 Junior Kelvin Del Cid continued his strong start to the 2021 season, helping Elizabethtown extend its unbeaten streak to four games and win its first Landmark Conference game of the season. Del Cid started the week by becoming the first goalkeeper this season to hold Messiah scoreless, making three saves in the Blue Jays 0-0 tie with the No. 4 team in Division III. He followed up that performance by making five saves against Goucher in the Blue Jays 4-2 win to open league play. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Ryan Hepler, Elizabethtown September 20, 2021 Junior Ryan Hepler scored in back-to-back games this week, leading Elizabethtown to a 2-0 record and a 4-1 mark overall. The Mountville, Pa. native started the week with a game-winning goal in the Blue Jays' 1-0 victory against Alvernia. Hepler followed that up with a late goal to cement Etown's 2-0 win over Arcadia. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Ethan Higgins, Elizabethtown September 20, 2021 Junior Ethan Higgins made the most of his two first career starts, registering two clean sheets for Elizabethtown this past week. The York, Pa. native tallied 11 saves between the two victories, helping the Blue Jays move to 4-1 on the season. Higgins has yet to allow a goal this season. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Reed Sturza, Moravian September 13, 2021 Sturza helped Moravian to a 2-1 record in non-conference action while being named the MVP of the Brick City Classic hosted by Rutgers-Newark with a total of four goals and an assist for the week. He had two goals, including the game-winner with less than two minutes remaining in the second overtime in a 3-2, double-overtime victory over TCNJ. Sturza took nine shots in the match with four on goal. He finished the week with two more goals and an assist in a 3-2 win over host Rutgers-Newark as Sturza took seven shots with five on the goal. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Jake Hodlofski, Scranton September 13, 2021 Hodlofski helped lead the Royals to a 1-0-1 record on the week as the senior keeper made a pair of saves in a 1-0 victory over No. 23 Ithaca on Wednesday and tallied four saves in a scoreless draw at Kean on Saturday. The clean sheets marked the seventh and eighth shutouts of his career at Scranton. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Domenico Caltabiano, Catholic September 07, 2021 Catholic University freshman Domenico Caltabiano kicked off his career as a Cardinal in style. Caltabiano scored the first two goals of his career on Sunday, including the game-winner in the 74th minute, and was named Most Valuable Player of the Turk Emekli Classic with a 4-1 win over Marymount (Va.). The Cardinals are unbeaten in their last 11 games at Carlini Field. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Michael Bone, Moravian September 07, 2021 Moravian College graduate student Michael Bone led the Greyhounds defensively in a 1-0, double-overtime win over Dickinson College on John Makuvek Field Saturday to begin the 2021 season. Bone stopped the only two shots on goal in 101:18 minutes of action as he earned his fourth career shutout.
