Susquehanna junior Alexander Dove won his No. 2 singles match against Penn St. Altoona. Dove won 6-1, 6-1 over Thomas Gardner. The doubles match was called due to rain. Men's Athlete of the Week - Jan Lasota, Catholic April 23, 2018 (Sr., - Silver Spring, Md.) Senior Jan Lasota helped Catholic cap its 2018 schedule in impressive fashion as he went a perfect 4-0 on a Landmark weekend with wins over Moravian, 9-0, and Elizabethtown, 8-1. Lasota, the team's No. 1, earned the top singles match in each bout, allowing four-or-less points total in his matches. He also teamed with classmate Rob Alexander to win each No. 2 doubles match. Men's Athlete of the Week - Tarquin McGurrin, Scranton April 16, 2018 (Fr., - Clarks Summit, Pa.) Freshman Tarquin McGurrin led Scranton to a pair of Landmark Conference victories by going 4-0 on the week while playing at the #1 flight for both singles and doubles. In a 9-0 win over Moravian on Saturday, he teamed up with brother Keller McGurrin for an 8-4 win in doubles before winning at the top flight in singles, 6-3, 7-5. McGurrin then posted an 8-1 doubles win on Sunday at Elizabethtown to go along with a 6-1, 6-1 victory in singles. Men's Athlete of the Week - Vineet Vemulapally, Drew April 09, 2018 (Jr., - Boca Raton, Fla.) Drew junior Vineet Vemulapally went a combined 4-1 across singles and doubles against Saint Elizabeth, Catholic and Goucher. He won both his matches in the Landmark-opening 6-3 win over Catholic on Saturday and notched a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Jan Lasota at No. 1 singles, and won 8-5 win over Lasota and Rob Alexander at No. 1 doubles. He extended his winning streak at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph against Goucher's Tetsuya Ota on Sunday. Men's Athlete of the Week - Jack Hodges, Goucher April 02, 2018 (Sr., London, England) Goucher senior Jack Hodges was the lone two-time winner on the day for the Gophers at Susquehanna on Saturday, as the Gophers opened defense of their Landmark Conference championship with a dominating 9-0 win. The Gophers are already 14-3 on the year, as the team is one win away from matching their total from a season ago. Men's Athlete of the Week - Vineet Vemulapally, Drew March 26, 2018 (Jr., - Boca Raton, Fla.) Drew University junior Vineet Vemulapally won both of his matches at No. 1 singles in the Rangers doubleheader against Rutgers-Newark and Pratt on Thursday. He beat Brandon Davis of Rutgers-Newark 8-4 before knocking off Pratt's Ben Erickson 8-2. Vemulapally also played No. 1 doubles with Geoffrey Diehl in the Rutgers-Newark match, defeating Brandon Davis and Veer Kachhiapatel, 8-2. Men's Athlete of the Week - Jack Hodges, Goucher March 19, 2018 (Sr., - London, England) Goucher College senior Jack Hodges helped the Gophers win their third straight match on Saturday at regionally-ranked Ursinus, winning at both doubles and singles. The victory at number two singles clinched the match for Goucher, an eventual 7-2 victory. Men's Athlete of the Week - Slade Dumas, Goucher March 12, 2018 (So. , - Great Falls, Va. ) Goucher College sophomore Slade Duman went undefeated on the day against Harford C.C. and St. Mary's on Saturday, helping the Gophers collect a pair of 8-1 victories that pushed their record on the year to 10-2 overall. Dumas is now 11-2 in singles action for the year, playing primarily in the middle of the Gophers starting line-up, and he is also a combined 9-4 in doubles acton, as well. Men's Athlete of the Week - Jack Hodges, Goucher March 05, 2018 (Sr., - London, England) Goucher College senior Jack Hodges was a two-time winner on the day at Washington College on Saturday, helping Goucher collect its first win over WC since 2005. Kicked the day off with a dominating 8-1 win at doubles, then pulled down a three-set victory at number two singles to put Goucher up, 4-1, in the match. The win in singles was the 50th of his career at Goucher, putting him fifth all-time on the programs career singles victory list. Men's Athlete of the Week - Tetsuya Ota, Goucher February 26, 2018 (Fr., - Wesley Chapel, Fla.) Goucher freshman picked up where he left off in the Fall this past weekend, going 3-0 in singles action as the Gophers won two of the three matches they took part in at Salisbury. He is now 7-1 on the year in singles action, going a perfect 5-0 in dual matches for Goucher. Ota has also won each of his singles matches in straight sets. Men's Athlete of the Week - Geoffrey Diehl, Drew October 09, 2017 (So., - West Hartford, Conn.) Drew sophomore Geoffrey went 2-0 in the 7-2 win at Farmingdale State on Thursday. He teamed with Eric Gomez to post an 8-4 victory over Steven Gaudio and Bradley Maslak at No. 2 doubles and beat Gaudio 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Men's Athlete of the Week - Alexander Ochalski, Scranton October 02, 2017 (Jr., - Hopewell, N.J.) In their lone pair of matches for the Fall season, Scranton junior Alexander Ochalski went a perfect 4-0 in singles and doubles action on the week, as Scranton shutout Marywood (9-0) on Monday, then beat Messiah, 8-1, on Saturday. Men's Athlete of the Week - Austin Grace, Moravian September 18, 2017 (Jr., - Orefield, Pa.) Grace helped the Greyhounds begin the season with a 1-1 record as he won both of his singles contests. Grace had a straight sets win at fifth singles against Delaware Valley University, which Moravian defeated 9-0 to start the season before bumping up to fourth singles and earning a three-set win at FDU-Florham, one of three points by the Greyhounds in the 6-3 loss.
