2014-15 Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week Men's Athlete of the Week - Jourdan Stewart, Susquehanna February 02, 2015 (So., Danbury, Conn.) Stewart won all three individual races he competed in during Susquehanna's Senior Day victory over Scranton on Saturday. He set a new pool record in the 200 butterfly (2:01.03), and added victories in the 100 fly (54.55) and 100 freestyle (49.37). Stewart was also part of a 400 free relay team which registered the top time in its race but swam the event as an exhibition. This is second AOTW award of the 2014-15 season. Women's Athlete of the Week - Annie Bruxelles, Susquehanna February 02, 2015 (Sr., Hockessin, Del.) Bruxelles swept the backstroke events in Susquehanna's Senior Day victory over Scranton on Saturday, a win which finished off a perfect 6-0 mark in Landmark meets for the Crusaders this season. She touched in at 1:02.10 in the 100 back and topped the field with a time of 2:17.29 in the 200 back. Bruxelles was also part of a 200 medley relay foursome which put up a winning time of 1:52.88. She will enter the Landmark Championships with the second-fastest 100 back time in the conference this season. Men's Athlete of the Week - Kevin Lindgren, USMMA January 26, 2015 (Sr., Palm City, Fla.) Lindgren took first place in three of his four individual races last week, including the Mariners' only race win against eighth-ranked NYU on Friday in the 200 individual medley (1:54.34). He set new Landmark top season times in each of his four events. In addition to the 200 IM, Lindgren swam in the 100 back (51.63), 200 free (1:46.06) and 100 fly (52.84). He also contributed to a 400 medley relay victory in Merchant Marine's 188-112 triumph over Marywood on Saturday. Lindgren receives Athlete of the Week recognition for the fourth time this season and eighth time in his career. Women's Athlete of the Week - Julia Wisler, Catholic January 26, 2015 (Sr., Phoenixville, Pa.) Wisler won both of her individual races in Catholic's 148-109 meet victory over Randolph-Macon on Saturday. She touched in at 25.13 seconds in the 50 freestyle, and registered a time of 54.91 seconds in her 100 free victory. Wisler also anchored the Cardinals' winning 200 medley relay team, with a 50 free split time of 24.58 seconds. This is the fifth time that she has received Athlete of the Week recognition in her career. Men's Athlete of the Week - Colin Richter, Goucher January 19, 2015 (Jr., Cleburne, Texas) Richter contributed to four of Goucher's 11 race victories during its Landmark meet against Marywood on Saturday. He registered individual wins in the 100 backstroke (55.56), 200 back (2:03.62) and 200 individual medley (2:00.52), and the junior has now won all eight races he has competed in versus conference opponents. Richter was also a part of a victorious 400 medley relay team to start the meet. This is his second AOTW award of 2014-15. Women's Athlete of the Week - Jacqueline White, USMMA January 19, 2015 (Sr., Oradell, N.J.) White won four individual races last week, including three during Saturday's meet at Coast Guard. She posted season-best times in the 100 butterfly (1:00.89) and the 200 fly (2:13.83). Her 200 fly time also set a new pool record. White added a win in the 200 backstroke on Saturday, and she registered a victory in the 500 freestyle and two relay races during Merchant Marine's win over St. Joseph's (L.I.) on Wednesday. This is her second AOTW award of 2014-15. Men's Athlete of the Week - Kevin Lindgren, USMMA January 12, 2015 (Sr., Palm City, Fla.) Lindgren picked up three victories over Division I opponents from Villanova University in a road dual meet in Sunday. He touched first in the 100 backstroke (59.83 – a four-second improvement on his season best time), the 200 back (1:58.70) and the 200 individual medley (1:58.60). He was also part of the 200 medley relay team that came in second with a time of 1:26.97, which was a one-second improvement over their season-best time. Women's Athlete of the Week - Raquel Wasserman, Scranton January 12, 2015 (Fr., Pound Ridge, N.Y.) Wasserman won two individual events and swam on two second-place finishing relay teams as the Royals returned to action for the first time in more than a month and dropped a 162-100 decision to Catholic University in Landmark Conference action Sunday afternoon at the Byron Recreation Complex in Scranton. Wasserman's two first-place finishes Sunday give her 12 for the season. Men's Athlete of the Week - Kevin Lindgren, USMMA December 15, 2014 (Sr., Palm City, Fla.) Lindgren won all three events he swam in against NCAA Division II Queens (N.Y.). Individually, he touched first in the 200 free in 1:54.99 and the 100 fly in 55.24, and he was also a part of the 200 free relay team that won with a time of 1:30.81. Women's Athlete of the Week - Jacqueline White, USMMA December 15, 2014 (Sr., Oradell, N.J.) On Wednesday night at Division II Queens (N.Y.), White won both the 200 free (2:09.52) and the 100 fly (1:02.85), and was the third leg on the Mariners' 200 medley relay team that led off the meet with a win in 2:01.26. Men's Athlete of the Week - William Porter, USMMA December 08, 2014 (Jr., Houston, Texas) Porter recorded NCAA qualifying scores in both the 11-dive and six-dive three-meter dive competitions this past Saturday at the TCNJ Lions Invite. He came in second place in both events, scoring 530.65 in 11 dives and 310.20 in six. Women's Athlete of the Week - Elizabeth Jackson, USMMA December 08, 2014 (Sr., Albany, Ga.) Jackson qualified for nationals in the one-meter dive (11 dives) by finishing in second place at the TCNJ Invite with a qualifying score of 399.70 on Saturday. She also qualified in the 3-meter dive (11 dives) with a score of 444.55. Men's Athlete of the Week - David Foery, Elizabethtown December 01, 2014 (Fr., York, Pa.) Foery kept racking up wins in the 100 and 200 free for the shorthanded Blue Jays. Foery posted the top time in each event Tuesday night at Lebanon Valley, winning both for the third straight meet. His win in the 100 was his fourth in five tries this season. Tuesday he bested the five-man field in the 200 with a time of 2:08.58. In the 100, he placed two seconds between himself and runner-up Garrett Collins of LVC to register a winning time of 57.20. Women's Athlete of the Week - Kimberly Cosgrove, Elizabethtown December 01, 2014 (Gr., Easton, Pa.) Cosgrove registered her second straight three-win meet Tuesday night at Lebanon Valley in a 109-96 win for the Blue Jays. Cosgrove cruised to another distance win by leading start-to-finish in the 800-meter freestyle (10:16.40). The graduate student remained unbeaten in the longest-distance events this season. She was 3-for-3 in the 1000-yard free and is now 1-for-1 in the 800-meter free. As commanding as her swims have been in the distance free, she has been nearly as good in the mid-distance 200 free. Tuesday she put forth a winning time of 2:24.11. Cosgrove also won the 400-meter free in a time of 5:03.29. Men's Athlete of the Week - Kevin Lindgren, USMMA November 24, 2014 (Sr., Palm City, Fla.) In the first event of the season for USMMA, Lindgren seemed to be in mid-season form against a number of Division II opponents. He finished in first place in two events, including the 200-back (1:57.10), the event in which he was the national runner-up in for the past two seasons. He also placed second in the 100 back (52.95) and fourth in the 200 IM (1:57.74). All three times are the fastest in the Landmark so far this season. Lindgren helped the Mariners win the 400 freestyle relay and finish second in the 200 medley relay. Women's Athlete of the Week - Kelsey Lessard, Susquehanna November 24, 2014 (Jr., Chestertown, Md.) Lessard competed in four events at the Bucknell Invitational this weekend. Susquehanna was the only Division III institution competing, but Lessard did not finish lower than 40th in any event. She earned a NCAA “B” cut time in the 400 IM, posting the fastest time in the Landmark this season and the third fastest time in Landmark history at 4:36.52. She also posted the fastest 200 IM time at 2:12.22 and the second fastest 200 breaststroke time at 2:32.27. Lessard combined with teammates to earn a 13th place finish in the 800 freestyle relay at 8:03.49. Men's Athlete of the Week - Jourdan Stewart, Susquehanna November 17, 2014 (So., Danbury, Conn.) Stewart won the 100 and 200 butterfly on Saturday in a meet at Gettysburg with Messiah. The sophomore swimmer posted the fastest in the Landmark in the 100 at 53.82 and finished with the second fastest time in the 200 at 2:02.53. He also notched a fourth place finish in the 100 freestyle at 49.16, another top two time in the Landmark this season. Stewart combined with teammates for a second place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. Women's Athlete of the Week - Lexi Cole, Susquehanna November 17, 2014 (Sr., Danville, Pa.) Cole competed in four events this weekend as Susquehanna competed at Gettysburg with Messiah. She won the 500 freestyle in 5:22.42 to post the fastest time in the Landmark so far this season. Cole boasts the second fastest time in the 200 freestyle after finishing in 2:01.28 on Saturday. She also added a top-10 conference time in the 100 freestyle at 57.03. Additionally, Cole and her teammates finished second in the 200 freestyle relay. Men's Athlete of the Week - Colin Richter, Goucher November 10, 2014 (Jr., Cleburne, Texas) Richter took first place in each event he competed in, helping the Gophers defeat Scranton in a dual meet for the first time in program history. He won the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.25 to best the competition by three seconds and he broke a pool record which had stood since Jan. 29, 2000. Richter won the 200 individual medley in 2:02.07. He was also part of a pool record-breaking performance on Goucher's medley relay team. The Gophers topped Scranton by 0.71 in that race and broke a record which had stood since Jan. 18, 2005. All three performances are the fastest times in the Landmark this season. Goucher is now 5-1 against opponents in scoring meets this fall. Women's Athlete of the Week - Basira Knight, Catholic November 10, 2014 (Fr., Cary, N.C.) Knight won four events on Sunday as Catholic hosted Susquehanna. She won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.95, the fastest time in the Landmark this season. Knight also finished first in the 200 breaststroke, posting a time of 2:33.87, the second fastest this season. Knight combined with teammates to win both the 200 medley relay (1:53.20) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.74). Men's Athlete of the Week - Eric Lawrence, Susquehanna November 03, 2014 (So., Bethlehem, Pa.) Lawrence helped Susquehanna win its first Landmark meet of the season with a first place finish in the 200 backstroke and 100 breaststroke. He won the backstroke in 2:01.60 to post the fastest time in the conference so far this season. Lawrence finished the breaststroke in 1:05.23. He swam the 200 individual medley (2:04.73) and 400 freestyle relay (3:26.05) as exhibition, but posted the fastest time in both events. The Crusaders defeated Elizabethtown 157-52. Women's Athlete of the Week - Alexis Regopoulos, Goucher November 03, 2014 (Fr., Fitchburg, Mass.) Regopoulos accounted for both of Goucher's individual victories at this weekend's meet against St. Mary’s (Md.) and Marymount. She won both the 500 and 1000 freestyle. Regopoulos posted the second fastest time in the Landmark in the 500 at 5:27.28. She won the 1000 with a time of 11:09.02, the top conference time this season and the seventh fastest in Landmark history. Men's Athlete of the Week - Michael Ambrose, Scranton October 27, 2014 (Sr., Coopersburg, Pa.) Ambrose won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke on Saturday in Scranton's meet against Widener. He posted a time of 1:01.57 in the 100 and won the 200 in 2:19.10. Ambrose also placed third in the 200 IM (2:12.41) and second in the 200 medley relay (1:41.41). Women's Athlete of the Week - Paige Agnello, Scranton October 27, 2014 (Sr., Bridgewater, N.J.) Agnello helped Scranton notch its third win of the season on Saturday when the Royals defeated Widener. She finished first in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.02) and the 200 breaststroke (2:32.91). Agnello also picked up a runner-up finish in the 200 IM (2:24.78) and helped the Royals win the 200 medley relay in 1:54.71. Men's Athlete of the Week - Zack Haney, Marywood October 20, 2014 (Sr., Danville, Pa.) Haney won seven events over three meets for the Marywood Pacers to spark a 2-1 opening week. Despite falling 154-82 to D-1 Manhattan College on Monday, Haney did his best to keep the Pacers close. He won the 1000 freestyle in 10:43.11, finished 3rd in the 100 backstroke and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay against the Jaspers. Over the weekend, Haney won two events each against Wilkes on Saturday and Cazenovia Sunday. In the win against Wilkes, Haney won the 100 butterfly in a personal best 55.90 while also taking the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.78. The following day he swam the lead off leg of the winning 400 medley relay, then won the 200 butterfly in 2:06.96. Haney finished the day by winning the 500 freestyle in 5:07.90 as the Pacers defeated the Wildcats 108-46. Women's Athlete of the Week - Christine Loughery, Catholic October 20, 2014 (So., Havertown, Pa.) Loughery won the 500 freestyle on Saturday at Mary Washington. She paced the field with a time of 5:34.80 and finished runner-up in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.46. Loughery also helped the Cardinals win the 200 free relay (1:41.96) and the 200 medley relay (1:54.20). She contributed to all three of Catholic’s victories.
