  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Morgan Richter (Goucher)
    February 01, 2016
    (Sr., Cleburne, Texas) Richter swam the fasted time of the season in the conference with his time of :23.73 in the 50 butterfly in Loyola (Md.) meet. He also won the 100 butterfly (:51.83) and helped the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams to a second place finish at the same meet.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Jolyn Green (USMMA)
    February 01, 2016
    (Jr., Riverside, Calif.) Green was a three-time victor in the Mariners' tri-meet wins over Drew and Goucher on Saturday. She began the day with a win as the second leg of 200 medley relay team that touched first in 1:58.72. Individually, she earned 18 points for Merchant Marine with wins in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.26) and 200 breaststroke (2:34.62). She ended the day as the second leg of the 200 free relay squad that finished second in 1:49.90.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Gerrit Porter (USMMA)
    January 25, 2016
    (Sr., Houston, Texas) Porter set a new Academy record in the three-meter dive (six dives) competition on Friday night at #7 NYU. His score of 367.95 bested 2008 NCAA National Champion Nick Halbach's mark. Porter won both the one- and three-meter competitions against the nationally-ranked Violets and his scores also qualified him for nationals on both boards. He recorded a 325.20 in the one-meter event.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Katie Willis (Susquehanna)
    January 25, 2016
    (Fr., Wallingford, Pa.) Willis had two first and one third-place finish vs. DII Bloomsburg. She won the 200 free by three second-margin and was third in the 100 free. She was also the leadoff leg of the winning 200 free relay team.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - William Kelsik (USMMA)
    January 18, 2016
    (Sr., New Castle, Ind.) Kelsik picked up five first-place finishes in three wins for the Mariners last week, including three individual victories. On Saturday, he helped Merchant Marine defeat a tough Coast Guard squad with three first-place touches. Individually, he won the 200 Fly (1:59.16) and 100 Fly (53.12) and was the third leg of the 200 Medley Relay squad the led off the meet with a win in 1:36.27.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Katie Willis (Susquehanna)
    January 18, 2016
    (Fr., Wallingfod, Pa.) At Marywood the women's swimming and diving team defeated Marywood 163-116. The women's swim team tied F&M 131-131 and the Franklin & Marshall team is regionally ranked ninth in the northeast-south region.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Matt Wagner (Catholic)
    January 11, 2016
    Catholic's Matt Wagner swam his fastest 2015-2016 dual meet this past Sunday against Scranton. Wagner earned four first place finished against the Royals including both freestyle sprint events and both team relays. The senior was the clear winner of both the 50-freestyle (21.89) and 100-freestyle (49.09), hitting the wall over 1.5 seconds before his opponent in each race. Additionally, Wagner anchored the winning 200-medley relay (1:40.22), touching out Scranton by just .66 seconds. During the final event of the day, Wagner swam in first for the CUA 400-freestyle relay win (3:13.70).
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Raquel Wasserman (Scranton)
    January 11, 2016
    (So., Pound Ridge, N.Y.) Helped Scranton edge out Catholic on Sunday in a dual meet by a score of 142-120, helping the Royals win two relay events, while also capturing two individual races. She swam the anchor and fastest leg on both the 200-Medley and 400-Freestyle Relay Teams. Wasserman edged out her nearest competitor in the 50-free, then won the 100-free by almost a second. The sophomore has helped Royals notch 8-1 record in dual meets for the year.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Christopher Kahl (USMMA)
    December 14, 2015
    (Fr., Solomons, Md.) Kahl recorded two victories to help lead the USMMA men’s swimming & diving team over Division II opponent Queens College on Friday night in a home meet. He was the first leg (backstroke) of the 200 medley relay team that led off the meet with a victory in 1:40.06 and then later in the meet he touched first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.64. Kahl also placed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.51.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Blythe Fentress (USMMA)
    December 14, 2015
    (So., Shady Shores, Texas) Fentress won both one-meter diving competitions and recorded an NCAA qualifying score in the Mariners’ home victory over Division II Queens College on Friday night. Her combined score of 411.76 was well above the NCAA cut of 395 for the one-meter dive (11 dives) event.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Guido Saccaggi (Catholic)
    December 07, 2015
    (Jr. Duluth, Ga.) Saccaggi swam three best times in the Cardinals midseason invitational. He notched two second place touched for Catholic first in the 400-IM (4:12.58) and later in the 1650-free (16:38.25). Along with Saccaggi's second place finishes he took third in the 500-free (4:49.48) and was a member of four top-16 finishing relays for CUA.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Jordan Jessup (Drew)

    (Jr. Port Hueneme, Calif.) Junior Jordan Jessup led the Drew women to a victory in the six-team Ranger Invitational last weekend by winning seven events and setting four new school records. Jessup had a hand in 99 of the Rangers' 177 points at Drew's home invitational. She set a new school record by nearly six seconds while winning the 200-yard backstroke in 2:10.12, and swam freestyle in three different school-record setting relay swims, all of which finished first at the two-day meet.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Tommy Kuhn (Elizabethtown)
    November 30, 2015
    (Fr., Pitman, N.J./Pitman) Elizabethtown freshman Tommy Kuhn won the 50-yard freestyle, set the conference’s ninth fastest 100 butterfly time and helped the 200 medley relay team to victory in a dual against Lebanon Valley last Monday. Kuhn’s 24.36 split in the butterfly was almost two seconds better than his top competition, pulling the Blue Jays comfortably in front in the 200 medley relay heading into the final leg. The relay team would set a season best time with a 1:45.53. Kuhn went on to win the 50 free in 24.01 and set a new PR in the 100 fly with a 56.66.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Elizabeth Finnegan (Elizabethtown)
    November 30, 2015
    (Sr., Edwardsville, Pa./Holy Redeemer) Elizabeth Finnegan anchored winning 200-yard medley and freestyle relays, and claimed the 50 freestyle for Elizabethtown last Monday against Lebanon Valley. Finnegan swam her fastest time of the season, a 25.97, in the 50 free. The time currently ranks eighth in the Landmark Conference. Finnegan and her Blue Jay teammates won the 200 medley relay in 1:59.42, with the senior sprinter putting down a 25.52 split. Finnegan finished strong with a 25.65 split in E-town’s 200 free relay win.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Gerrit Porter (USMMA)
    November 23, 2015
    Porter achieved NCAA qualifying scores and placed first, defeating some Division II divers in both the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions in the Mariners' season-opening meet, the USMMA Memorial Invitational, on Saturday. He won the one-meter dive with a score of 285.75 and took first in the three-meter dive with a 326.70.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Raquel Wasserman (Scranton)
    November 23, 2015
    .Helped Scranton win every event on the day at Marywood, as the Royals coasted to a 216-75 victory ... Wasserman swam the anchor on each victorious relay team, swimming the fastest leg on the 200-Medley Relay squad to cap off a win.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Sam Hicks (Catholic)
    November 16, 2015
    CUA hosted Elizabethtown in a Landmark Conference meet on Saturday. During the meet the team competed the NCAA's news event, the 100-individual medley. Freshman Hicks tied his junior teammate Joe Cihak for the top spot. He also touched in first in the 100-free with a winning time of 48.97.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Katie Willis (Susquehanna)

    Set PRs in all three individual events as well as top-10 program times. Was also on a second-place 200 free relay team.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Colin Richter (Goucher)

    Richter placed first in the 200m free with a time of 2:04.33, the 200m individual medley with a time of 2:21.41, and the 100m backstroke with a time of 1:02.79.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Katie Willis (Susquehanna)
    November 09, 2015
    Willis swam in four events and captured first in three with a relay DQ. She won the 50 free with her time of 25.31, the eighth-best mark in program history and went on to win the 100 free with a time of 55.59 which stands as the ninth-best mark in SU history.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Guido Saccaggi (Catholic)

    The Catholic University men's swimming and diving team won their first Landmark meet of the season over Marywood on Friday evening. Saccaggi earned three first place finished helping the Cards to their victory. The junior started the meet leading the Catholic sweep of the 1000, touching in first with a time of 10:23.69, followed by two teammates for a 1-2-3 finish. Saccaggi later took the top spots in the 500 free (5:02.13) and the 200 IM (2:06.62).
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Jordan Jessup (Drew)

    Junior Jordan Jessup dropped her times in all events raced from the season opener one week ago. She scored 18 points for the Rangers by winning both the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke events. She also swam the 50-yard backstroke leg in the 200-yard medley relay team that finished second and dropped two seconds from their time a week ago.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Guido Saccaggi (Catholic)
    October 26, 2015
    Junior Guido Saccaggi took the first event of Catholic's meet against Salisbury, with a first-place finish in the 800-meter freestyle (9:14.05). Later in the contest Saccaggi notched two more first place finishes, touching in with a 4:24.66 in the 400-free and 2:19.08 in the 200-individual medley.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Alexis Regopoulos (Goucher)
    October 26, 2015
    Alexis Regopoulos competed in three individual events and took first place in both the 500 freestyle (5:25.89) and 1000 freestyle (11:12.93). She was runner-up in the 200 free (2:06.24). She helped Goucher go 3-0 at a quad Saturday, beating Hood, 108-90, Frostburg St., 114-89, and Stevenson, 119-81.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Christopher Conway (Scranton)
    October 19, 2015
    Conway's two individual victories led the Royals to season-opening victories over FDU-Florham and Cabrini on Saturday in the Byron Center as the Royals won seven of the 12 individual events. He also swam the fastest leg of the 200 freestyle relay team that also posted a victory.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Margaret Reynolds (Scranton)
    October 19, 2015
    Reynolds' collegiate debut was an impressive one as she won two individual events and was part of a winning relay team as the Royals posted dominating wins in the season opener. Reynolds dominated the 200 butterfly, winning by almost 18 seconds, and later won the 200 IM by more than a second.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Daniel Adams (Marywood)
    October 12, 2015
    Senior Captain Daniel Adams won both his individual events; the 50 Free in 21.95 and the 100 Free in 48.78, and he also led off Marywood's winning 200 Freestyle relay in 21.9 against Division I competitor Manhattan on Saturday.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Mia Nardone (Marywood)

    Mia Nardone opened her collegiate swimming career in grand fashion, winnign two events against Division I Manhattan College. Nardone won her first collegiate meet with a time of 26.21 in the 50 free and then went on to win the 100 backstroke in 1:04:03 by the slightest of margins, edging out the Jaspers' Megan Pagano (1:04.08).
