  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Jeffrey Schriefer Flores, Catholic
    February 03, 2020
    (Sophomore, Lexington, Ky.) Catholic sophomore Jeffrey Schriefer-Flores collected three wins against nonconference Marymount on Saturday. He captured the 50-free with a time of 21.85 before winning the 200-back, touching the wall in 2:02.71. He finished off the day by helping the 200-medley relay team to a first-place finish with a time of 1:41.05.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Caroline Beal, Catholic
    February 03, 2020
    (Junior, Newtown, Conn.) Catholic junior Caroline Beal captured three first-place finishes to help the Cardinals defeat nonconference Marymount on Saturday. Beal swam a 1:45.43 in the 200-free to touch the wall first and was first in teh 50-free with her time of 25.95. He helped the 200-free relay team to a first place finish as well.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Eric Towse, Susquehanna
    January 27, 2020
    (Sophomore, Staten Island, N.Y.) Susquehanna University sophomore Eric Towse collected four wins and three pool records as Susquehanna concluded the regular season with its second straight win. Towse, who tallied 38 points in the win, led both of the team's 1-2-3 sweeps as he captured the 100 backstroke with a Byron Recreation Center pool record of 52.32 before winning the 200 IM in 2:00.22. Towse also led off the winning 400 medley, which posted a pool record winning time of 3:33.18. Towse's third pool record of the day came in the 200 backstroke as he won it in 1:55.12.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Lauren Byrne, Scranton
    January 27, 2020
    (Junior, Cranford, N.J.) The University of Scranton junior Lauren Byrne finished off a dazzling dual meet season with three individual victories and another in a relay event, helping Scranton finish off a 9-1 season in the pool where they beat every school in the Landmark Conference. Byrne's dominant event of the day was the 200-IM, where she beat her nearest competitior by eight seconds.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Evan Bova, Susquehanna
    January 20, 2020
    (Sophomore, Staten Island, N.Y.) (Freshman, Macungie, Pa.) Susquehanna freshman Evan Bova led Susquehanna to its first win of the season with three first-place finishes. Bova won the 200 IM with his time of 2:08.73 before capturing his second individual title in the 500 IM (5:13.51). He then helped the 200 medley relay team to a first place finish with a time of 1:44.67.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Lauren Byrne, Scranton
    January 20, 2020
    (Junior, Cranford, N.J.) The University of Scranton junior Lauren Byrne had a huge week in the pool for the Royals in Scranton's return to action after a long break for the holiday season. She helped Scranton win a pair of duals over Elizabethtown and Drew, winning each event she was entered in individually and in relays. Ended her week with a record-breaking performance Friday night in the 200-IM vs. Drew, smashing the Byron Center pool record in the event with her time of 2:08.29.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Eric Towse, Susquehanna
    January 13, 2020
    (Sophomore, Staten Island, N.Y.) Susquehanna sophomore Eric Towse broke a 17-year old Garrett Complex pool record as he captured the 200 backstroke in 1:53.55, knocking off the old mark of 1:54.22 set by Eric Daney of Albright College in 2003. He also claimed top honors in the 200 IM while taking second in the 100 backstroke. Towse, who tallied 26 points for the meet, led off the second-place 200 medley relay as well.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Cassie Sanidad, Juniata
    January 13, 2020
    (Sophomore, Silver Spring, Md.) Juniata sophomore Cassie Sanidad went a season-best time in the 200 breast (2:56.92) and a lifetime best in the 200 fly (2:43.57) to pick up the wins against Chatham. She also helped the 200 medley relay team to a first-place finish with a time of 4:58.88.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Jack Mahoney, Drew
    December 09, 2019
    (Senior, Erie, Pa.) Drew senior Jack Mahoney had a hand in six victories (two individual, four relays) while leading Drew to the Ranger Invitational title. He captured both the 50-free (21.47) and 100-free (46.65) with times that currently rank No. 1 in the Landmark Conference. His 100 time also lowered his own school and meet records. In addition, Mahoney helped reset meet records in all four of his relays while also breaking school records in both the 400-free relay (3:10.16) and the 800-free relay (7:00.72). The 800-free relay team's time was nearly six seconds faster than the previous school record and eight seconds better than the former meet record.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Katie Cashin, Drew
    December 09, 2019
    (Fr., Franklin, Mass.) Freshman Katie Cashin helped lead Drew to the Ranger Invitational title with an outstanding performance. She won four events (three individually) while posting four meet records and three school records. Individually, her times in the 200-IM (2:08.37) 100-fly (57.61), and 200-fly (2:06.28) all rank No. 1 in the Landmark Conference this season. All three times were also meet records, and her 200-IM and 200-fly marks established school records as well. In addition, Cashin swam on the winning 400-freestyle relay team that set both a school and meet record.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Ellis Prescott, Catholic
    November 25, 2019
    (Fr., Las Vegas, Nev.) Catholic freshman Ellis Prescott swam well in six total events to help the Cardinals place second out of 12 competing teams at the Yellow Jacket Invitational. The freshman touched 1st out of 18 swimmers in the 400 IM (4:13.32). He leads the conference so far this season in the 400 IM, 500 Free (4:50.14) and 1650 (17:04.24).
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Lauren Byrne, Scranton
    November 25, 2019
    (Jr., Cranford, N.J.) Scranton junior Lauren Byrne was absolutely dominant at the Diamond City Invitational, winning every event she was entered into in both individual and relays as the Royals captured the event for the third straight season. Byrne helped Scranton's 200-medley relay team break a meet record with their finishing time of 1:50.49, and she swam anchor on two winning relays (400 and 200 freestyle). She continued her run of dominance on the individual end, as she captured three events (50 free, 100 free, 200 free), as well.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Harrison Neal, Drew
    November 18, 2019
    (Freshman, Wellington, New Zealand) Drew freshman Harrison Neal won two individual events and also swam on a winning relay team to lead the Rangers to a 132-88 victory at Susquehanna. He started the meet by swimming the breaststroke leg of the winning 200-medley relay (1:38.17). He followed up with individual victories in both the 200-freestyle (1:47.97) and the 500-freestyle (4:55.79). His times in both the 200 and 500 are the fastest in the Landmark Conference this season.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Mal Vishwanath, Drew
    November 18, 2019
    (Senior, Bangalore, India) Drew senior Mal Vishwanath won three individual events in a 113-108 loss at Susquehanna. She won in convincing style in all three events, capturing the 1,000-freestyle by 23 seconds, the 500-freestyle by seven seconds, and the 200-freestyle by five seconds. She improved on her season-best times in both the 200 and 1,000, which are both the fastest times in the Landmark Conference this season.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Jeffrey Schriefer - Flores, Catholic
    November 11, 2019
    (Sophomore, Lexington, Ky.) Catholic sophomore Jeffrey Schriefer-Flores led the Cardinals with two individual event wins and a first and second place finish in relay events to help Catholic earn its second meet win of the season.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Madeline Doucette, Catholic

    (Freshman, Yardley, Pa.) Catholic fresman Madeline Doucette paced the Cardinals with three event wins, one individual and two relays, to help Catholic earn its second meet victory of the season.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Matt Mills, Scranton
    November 04, 2019
    (Junior, Sewell, N.J.) Scranton junior Matt Mills won every event he took part in on the weekend, as the Royals coasted past King's, Juniata, and Goucher in three dual meets over a two-day period. He also helped two relay teams take their respective events on the weekend, as Scranton improved to 4-1 on the year in dual meets.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Lauren Byrne, Scranton
    November 04, 2019
    (Junior, Cranford, N.J.) Scranton junior Lauren Byrne continued her dominance in the pool this past week for the Royals, as she was Scranton's only two-time winner in individual events vs. King's on Friday and one of two Royals to do the same in convincing wins over Juniata and Goucher on Saturday.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Casey Marshall, Elizabethtown
    October 28, 2019
    (Senior, Dover, Pa.) Elizabethtown senior Casey Marshall kicked off his senior campaign with three first-place finishes aginast Goucher and Immaculata. Marshall won the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly and helped the 200-medley relay team to a first-place finish.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Lauren Byrne, Scranton
    October 28, 2019
    (Junior, Cranford, N.J.) Scranton junior Lauren Byrne was dominant on the day at Catholic on Saturday, as she won three events and helped Scranton take a relay in a dual meet win over the Cardinals on the road. She won both the 100-back and 200-back by over three seconds, then captured the 200-IM by over seven seconds.
     
  • Men's Athlete of the Week - Jackson Penner, Goucher
    October 21, 2019
    (Sophomore, Newille, Pa.) Goucher sophomore Jackson Penner won the 50 back with a time of 28.69, the 50 free with a time of 23.77 and the 100 free with a time of 52.40. The sophomore helped the Gophers defeat Gallaudet and have a close dual meet with Marymount on Saturday in the season-opener.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Mal Vishwanath, Drew
    October 21, 2019
    (Senior, Bangalore, India) Drew senior Mal Vishwanath opened the season with three victories in each of her first two meets. She swept the 100-, 200-, and 500-freestyle versus Montclair State, then captured the 100-, 500-, and 1,000-free against Catholic. She also anchored the winning 200-freestyle relay versus the Cardinals. Vishwanath distanced herself by 35 seconds in the 1,000 and also won convincingly in both of her 500 victories, winning by over 10 seconds in both races.
