2021-22 Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week Men's Athlete of the Week - Finn Armitt, Drew February 01, 2022 Armitt won four events to help power the Rangers to a 188-72 victory over Scranton in their dual-meet finale. A butterfly specialist who is ranked second in the Landmark Conference in both fly events, Armitt showed his versatility by capturing four freestyle events, including the 50 (22.51) and the 500 (4:55.07), topping the second-fastest swimmer in the Landmark Conference in the latter. He also swam the fastest split (47.98-second leg) on the winning 400-freestyle relay team (3:15.44). Armitt's efforts helped the Rangers finish with a 4-2 record. Women's Athlete of the Week - Mackenzie Garcia Hynds, Drew February 01, 2022 Garcia Hynds celebrated Senior Night by winning three events and helping the Rangers clinch their first-ever undefeated dual-meet season with a 156-133 victory over Scranton. Individually, she captured both the 100-freestyle (54.77) and the 200-freestyle (1:59.87). She capped the meet in style, anchoring the winning 400-freestyle relay team that prevailed in 3:42.28. Men's Athlete of the Week - Caleb Leaman, Susquehanna January 25, 2022 Susquehanna freshman Caleb Leaman won both of his events on Saturday versus Scranton, setting the second-highest scores in the conference in both 1-meter (209.60) and 3-meter (204.10) diving. Leaman also set a school record with his 3-meter score of 204.10, besting a nearly 40-year-old record with his performance. Women's Athlete of the Week - Sarah Marston, Elizabethtown January 25, 2022 Sophomore Sarah Marston won two events, helping the Elizabethtown College women's swimming team to a 61-34 victory over McDaniel this past weekend. After taking first in the 200 free (1:58.68), the Leola, Pa. native broke her school record in the 100 fly, touching the wall in 1:00.58. She finished off the day swimming a leg of the 200 free relay that won in 1:45.54. Men's Athlete of the Week - Jayden Corrigan, Susquehanna January 18, 2022 Jayden Corrigan had some outstanding results on back-to-back days, as the junior won four of his six individual races and helped his team defeat two Landmark foes in Moravian and Elizabethtown. He picked up individual wins in the 1000 free, 500 free, 200 breaststroke, and the 400 individual medley race. He was also on the winning 200-medley relay. Women's Athlete of the Week - Colleen McDonald, Catholic January 18, 2022 In a dual meet at Mary Washington on Saturday, Catholic University senior Colleen McDonald placed third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.33 and fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a mark of 2:25.72. Men's Athlete of the Week - Hayden Koh, Drew December 07, 2021 Koh posted an incredible performance while leading Drew to its fifth-straight title at the Ranger Invitational. He won six events while recording five meet records, four school records, two Landmark Conference records, and two NCAA B cuts. Individually, he captured the 100-butterfly (48.93), 200-butterfly (1:49.08), and 50-freestyle (21.52). He clocked his B cuts in the butterfly events while also setting meet, school, and conference records in each event. Koh also helped set a meet and school record in the 400-freestyle relay (3:07.78) with his leadoff leg. Finally, he established a meet and school record in the 100-backstroke with leadoff leg (51.02) of the 400-medley relay, which also broke a meet record (3:47.10). Women's Athlete of the Week - Katie Cashin, Drew December 07, 2021 Cashin won six events to help power Drew to its sixth-straight title at the Ranger Invitational. Individually, she touched first in the 200-IM (2:09.32), 400-IM (4:34.58), and 200-butterfly (2:09.71) while posting the top time in the Landmark Conference this season in all three events. She also swam on three winning different relay teams (200-freestyle, 1:38.30; 400-freestyle, 3:35.01; 400-medley, 4:00.38) that posted conference-leading times as well. Cashin posted an additional conference-leading time while swimming as an exhibition competitor in the 200-backstroke (2:09.16), and her times in both the 400-IM and 400-medley relay were both meet records. Men's Athlete of the Week - Davin Glynn, Moravian November 23, 2021 Glynn won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:31.57, and he also took first in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:06.08 as the Greyhounds won their first-ever dual meet, defeating Juniata College 52-44. Glynn was the runner-up in the 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 1:32.27. Women's Athlete of the Week - Sarah Marston, Elizabethtown November 23, 2021 Sophomore Sarah Marston broke her own school record in the 200 Free against Catholic on Saturday, touching the wall in 1:58.07 to win the 200 free and break her school record (1:58.61) from last year. The sophomore also won the 100 free (55.97) and the 200 IM (2:16.27) against the Cardinals. The Leola, Pa. native currently owns three school records. Men's Athlete of the Week - Eric Towse, Susquehanna November 16, 2021 Eric Towse had an excellent first showing in the first official meet of his senior season, winning the 200-Yard Backstroke (1:56.41) and 200-Yard Freestyle (1:47.51). Towse also helped his 200-Yard Medley Relay Team break the pool record with their time of 1:36.55. Women's Athlete of the Week - Katie Cashin, Drew November 16, 2021 Cashin won both the 200-butterfly (2:16.72) and the 200-backstroke (2:15.52) to help lead Drew to a 185-92 victory at Susquehanna to stay undefeated (5-0) on the season. She won by over seven seconds in the 200-fly, and she captured the 200-back by nearly three seconds. In addition, she swam on the "B" team in the 200-medley relay that finished third. For the season, Cashin holds the top time in the Landmark Conference in the 200-fly (2:14.75), and she is third in the 200-back (2:15.52). Men's Athlete of the Week - Scott Majka, Scranton November 09, 2021 Majka won three individual events over the weekend to help lead the Royals to a 130-18 dual meet victory at Juniata on Saturday. He touched first in the 200-freestyle (2:08.26), 200-individual medley (2:23.02). 100-breaststroke (1:14.61), and was part of the winning 200-medley relay team. Women's Athlete of the Week - Sam Trodick, Drew November 09, 2021 Trodick won three individual events to help the Rangers to a 164-95 victory at Stevens, the team's fourth straight win to open the season. She touched first in the 100-breaststroke (1:11.06), 200-breaststroke (2:34.09), and 200-IM (2:19.03). Trodick won by over five seconds in the 200-breast and by more than three seconds in the 200-IM. Men's Athlete of the Week - Ellis Prescott, Catholic November 02, 2021 Catholic University junior Ellis Prescott had three individual wins in the 500-yard freestyle, 1,000-yard freestyle, and 200-yard individual medley against the University of Scranton last weekend. His time of 5:01.60 in the 500-free is second-best in the conference this year, while his 2:03.80 in the 200-IM is third-best. Women's Athlete of the Week - Lauren Byrne, Scranton November 02, 2021 University of Scranton graduate student Lauren Byrne had three individual wins in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke, and 200-yard individual medley in a dominant 195-99 victory over Catholic University on Saturday. Her time of 1:00.60 in the 100-free is the best in the conference this year, as are her 200-back (2:12.47) and 200-IM (2:13.65) times. Men's Athlete of the Week - Hayden Koh, Drew October 26, 2021 Koh won three individual events and set one record as Drew defeated Moravian 227-30 and lost to Montclair State 151-137. In his collegiate debut in the 100-butterfly, he broke the school record with a winning time of 50.07. He also touched first in the 100-backstroke with a time of 51.86, and the 100-IM (53.95). Women's Athlete of the Week - Sarah Marston, Elizabethtown October 26, 2021 Sophomore Sarah Marston led the way for Elizabethtown in her first official collegiate meet, winning three individual events and helping a relay to a first-place finish as well. The Leola, Pa. native touched the wall first in the 100 free (56.10), 200 free (1:59.53), and 100-IM (1:04.54). Marston matched that performance on the winning 200-free relay, finishing in 1:48.45. Men's Athlete of the Week - Hayden Koh, Drew October 19, 2021 Koh enjoyed a tremendous collegiate debut, winning all four of his events to help power the Rangers to a 154.5-127.5 victory over defending Landmark Conference champion Catholic. He started by leading off for the winning 200-medley relay team, then captured both the 100 and 200-backstroke. He won by over two seconds and came within a tenth of a second in the 100-back. He then cruised to a seven-second victory while finishing less than a second shy of the Drew standard in the 200. Koh wrapped up his big day by winning the 200-IM by over two seconds. Women's Athlete of the Week - Katerina Poulathas, Drew October 19, 2021 Poulathas won all three of her individual events and helped lead the Rangers to a 167-126 win over defending Landmark Conference champion Catholic, giving Drew its first-ever victory over the Cardinals. Making her collegiate debut, she touched first in the 100-freestyle, 200-freestyle, and 100-butterfly, winning by over a second in the 100-free, nearly three seconds in the 200-free, and over four seconds in the 100-fly.
