2020-21 Women's Basketball Athletes of the Week Women's Athlete of the Week - Madison Amy, Moravian March 01, 2021 Moravian sophomore Madison Amy helped the Greyhounds to a 1-1 week while averaging 19.0 points per game. Amy was 13-for-29 from the floor and 8-for-18 beyond the arc while playing 72 of a possible 80 minutes, and she had five rebounds, five steals, seven assists and just three turnovers during the week. Amy had 13 points in a 72-51 loss at Scranton. She then had a career-high 25 points in a 77-68 win at Drew. Amy added a career-best six assists to go with four steals, four rebounds and a 7-for-11 performance beyond the three-point line as she became just the third player in school history to make at least seven three-pointers in a game at Moravian. Women's Rookie of the Week - Sam Osorio, Moravian March 01, 2021 Moravian freshman Sam Osorio averaged 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Greyhounds. Osorio shot 9-for-21 from the floor and 7-for-10 at the foul line, and she averaged 23.5 minutes per game with a pair of steals. She had seven rebounds and six points in 19 minutes during a 72-51 loss at Scranton. Osorio then had her second career double-double including a career-high 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 77-68 win at Drew where she played 28 minutes and shot 7-for-14 from the floor and 5-for-6 at the foul line. Women's Athlete of the Week - Joey Meyers, Drew February 22, 2021 Drew University sophomore Joey Meyers averaged 18.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 5.0 steals per game while shooting 60.9 percent from the field to lead the Rangers to a sweep of Juniata. She opened the week with a double-double, posting 16 points and 10 rebounds to go with five steals, four assists, and a pair of blocked shots in an 80-57 home win. Then in an 80-59 road victory, she pumped in 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting while also racking up eight rebounds and another five steals. Women's Rookie of the Week - Sarah White, Catholic February 22, 2021 Catholic University freshman Sarah White averaged 7.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in three games last week. Six of her seven field goals were three-pointers. In a win over Juniata on Tuesday, she scored a career-high 11 points, going 4-of-7 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. On Sunday, she earned her first career start and scored nine points in a career-high 32 minutes as the Cardinals snapped a four-game losing streak against five-time defending conference champion Scranton at John Long Center, marking their first road win in the series since Jan. 21, 2017. Women's Athlete of the Week - Rachel Bussanich, Catholic February 15, 2021 Sophomore Rachel Bussanich averaged 15.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in three games last week, all Catholic victories. She posted her first career double double with 14 points and a career-high 12 rebounds to lead the Cardinals to a 79-71 road victory over Juniata on Tuesday. She had five points and seven rebounds in the fourth quarter as Catholic outscored the Eagles 19-8 to rally from a 63-60 deficit after three. On Sunday, she scored a career-high 24 points as the Cardinals rallied from a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit to post a 69-62 victory over Moravian. Bussanich was 10-of-18 from the floor while adding nine rebounds, just missing her second career double double in the last three games. She totaled 11 points and five rebounds in the decisive fourth-quarter. Women's Rookie of the Week - Maddie Hartnett, Scranton February 15, 2021 Freshman Maddie Hartnett started the first two games of her collegiate career and made an instant impact offensively for Scranton by averaging 9.0 points per game in the two contests. The freshman guard scored seven points in a 56-47 win at Moravian on Tuesday and was one of four Lady Royals in double figures in Sunday's win over Drew with 11 points, four rebounds and three assists. Women's Athlete of the Week - Sekya Campbell, Drew February 08, 2021 Drew University junior Sekya Campbell opened the season with a monster double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds in a 76-71 victory at Catholic. She shot 8-for-13 from the field and 7-for-7 at the foul line while 10 of her boards came on the offensive glass. Campbell helped ice her team's win with two clutch baskets in the final 1:35, then grabbed a big defensive rebound with 20 ticks showing before hitting a pair of free throws that set the final score. Women's Rookie of the Week - Sam Osorio, Moravian February 08, 2021 Moravian College freshman Sam Osorio has had an impressive collegiate debut, helping the Greyhounds start the year at 3-0. She is averaging 9.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game while starting all three contests, and she is 12-for-22 from the floor (54.5 percent) to go along with four steals and two blocked shots. Osorio had a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds to go with two blocked shots in her collegiate debut, a 65-45 win at Lancaster Bible College. She the had nine points and seven rebounds in the Hounds' 68-57 victory at Juniata College before finishing the week with five points, three rebounds and two steals in a 65-55 win versus Juniata in Moravian's home opener.
