2018-19 Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week Offensive Athlete of the Week - Elena Gallo, Scranton April 29, 2019 (Sr., A - East Meadow, N.Y.) Scranton senior Elena Gallo Put together her best performance of the season on the offensive end against Moravian on Saturday, as her season-best six-goal effort lifted the Royals to a 21-16 win to clinch the second seed in this week's Landmark Conference playoffs. Shed tied for the team lead for the season in goals with 41 to go along with four assists for a 45 -point total. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Meaghan McMullan, Moravian April 22, 2019 (So., M - Tatamy, Pa.) Moravian sophomore Meaghan McMullan helped Moravian to a 2-0 record with 21 points in two matches as she reached 100 career goals. McMullan had 17 goals, four assists, two ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover during the week. She had six goals and three assists with one draw control in an 18-17 victory over FDU-Florham in non-conference action. McMullan then scored a school record 11 goals including the 100th of her career with her first of the match in a 23-15 Landmark Conference win over Drew University. She also had an assist, two ground balls and a caused turnover in the contest. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Becca Russo, Scranton April 22, 2019 (Jr., M - South Windsor, Conn.) After missing the Catholic game on Apr. 13, Scranton junior Becca Russo came back to the Royals lineup in a big way on Thursday at Elizabethtown, as she posted four ground balls and a team-high three caused turnovers in a 19-8 win over Elizabethtown. She also had seven draw controls in the victory, as well. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Jillian Picciuto, Moravian April 15, 2019 (Sr., A - Long Valley, N.J.) Senior Jillian Picciuto helped Moravian to a 2-0 mark in Landmark Conference action last week as the Greyhounds clinched a berth in the 2019 Landmark Conference Tournament. She had five goals and nine assists for 14 points to go with five draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Picciuto had three goals, three assists and four draw controls in a 22-12 victory at Elizabethtown College before adding two goals, six assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 21-5 win at Juniata College. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Alyssa Bishop, Catholic April 15, 2019 (Jr., D - Medford, N.J.) Junior Alyssa Bishop headlined Catholic's defensive effort in two Landmark Conference victories last week. After helping to hold Goucher to just three goals and scoreless over the final 46:33, she totaled four ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 16-13 win at No. 20 Scranton on Saturday in a match-up of league unbeatens. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Kate Ziegler, Elizabethtown April 08, 2019 (So, M - Line Lexington, Pa.) Elizabethtown sophomore Kate Ziegler hit 100 career points this past week for the Blue Jays and helped her team to a 2-0 week including a Landmark Conference win on Saturday. Ziegler reached the century mark in points in less than two years of collegiate action with six points at Penn State Abington in a 17-1 win. Ziegler came into the came four points shy of the milestone and with 4 goals and 2 assists, passed it easily. She had her second hat trick of the week in Saturday's 16-2 win over Juniata where she also added three assists. Ziegler also did some defensive work for E-town with three caused turnovers and eight groundballs along with six draw controls. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Abby Kopytko, Elizabethtown April 08, 2019 (Sr, G - Newtown, Pa.) Elizabethtown senior goalie Abby Kopytko did not allow a goal in 63:07 this past week as the Blue Jays won twice. Kopytko played the first half at Penn State Abington and made 2 saves against the Lions without allowing a goal. She did the same on Saturday in the team's 16-2 win over Juniata. She played the first half and came in for the final 3:07 of the game and didn't concede a score in any of her two appearances on the field for E-town. She only needed to make one save in the first half and did have to stop anymore the rest of the game. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Ally Criscuolo, Catholic April 01, 2019 (Jr., M - Southampton, N.J) Catholic junior Ally Criscuolo led the team in goals, assists, points, ground balls and caused turnovers in two games last week as Catholic ran its win streak to five overall and 33-straight in conference contests. She set new career highs with five goals, three assists and eight points in a 23-15 Landmark win at Moravian. She also added six ground balls and four caused turnovers. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Emily Schum, Scranton April 01, 2019 (Fr., D - East Hanover, N.J.) Scranton freshman Emily Schum led the defense on the week, as the Royals held two opponents to single-digit goals, a feat they have now accomplished in five straight games and seven games overall for the year. She was dominant in the Farmingdale State win, finishing with seven ground balls and six caused turnovers. She then added three more ground balls and caused three more turnovers in the win at Juniata on Saturday. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Ally Criscuolo, Catholic March 25, 2019 (Jr., M - Southampton, N.J) Catholic junior Ally Criscuolo scored with 3:37 left in overtime to give the 14th-ranked Cardinals a 10-9 win over No. 2 Franklin & Marshall Wednesday in the first game at the new Carlini Field. Her game-winning goal was the third of her career. Criscuolo posted her second hat trick of the season and a season-high four points on Saturday as Catholic opened Landmark Conference play with a 20-4 victory over Elizabethtown. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Nanci Hernandez, Catholic March 25, 2019 (Jr., G - San Diego, Calif.) Catholic junior Nanci Hernandez made a season-high 12 saves as the 14th-ranked Cardinals posted a 10-9 win over No. 2 Franklin & Marshall Wednesday in the first game at the new Carlini Field. She totaled seven saves in the second half to help force overtime. She added three first half saves as Catholic jumped out to a 14-3 halftime lead in its win over Elizabethtown in the Landmark Conference opener for both teams. McMullan had five goals, two assists, three ground balls, eight draw controls and a caused turnover in a 16-8 win over Alvernia University. She the scored a school record 13 points on career highs of eight goals and five assists to go along with five ground balls and one caused turnover in a 21-16 victory at Widener University. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Rachel Searle, Catholic March 18, 2019 (Fr., G - Highlands Ranch, Colo.) Catholic freshman Rachel Searle picked up her first career win as the Cardinals posted a 14-12 win over No. 15 Cortland. The Red Dragons led 6-5 at the halftime before Catholic made the switch in goal to Searle. She finished with two saves in her second career appearance, playing the entire second half to pick up her first win. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Lexie Sharp, Elizabethtown March 11, 2019 (So, A/M - Woodbine, N.J.) Elizabethtown sophomore Lexie Sharp tied a school record with 10 goals in the Blue Jays' 21-11 win over Alvernia on Saturday. Sharp scored five in each half and added two assists for E-town. Her 10 goals not only tied a school record, but tied for the most in a game this season in all of NCAA Division III. Sharp scored four times at Chapman last Wednesday and leads the Jays with 20 goals on the year. Sharp collected 10 draw controls and 6 ground balls in the two games this past week. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Kat Michalski, Drew March 11, 2019 (So, GK - Eastchester, N.Y.) Drew sophomore Kat Michalski made nine saves in Drew's 17-3 victory at Washington & Jefferson. She turned aside seven of her shots in the opening half as the Rangers raced to an 11-0 lead. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Shannon Stull, Goucher March 04, 2019 (Jr., A - Westminister, Md.) Goucher junior Shannon Stull posted 13 goals and three assists for 16 points to lead Goucher to a 2-0 week. After registering six points in a win against Immaculata on Wednesday, Stull posted a career-high nine goals and 10 points in a 23-5 win against Randolph on Friday. The junior registered four goals and two assists in an 11-9 win against Immaculata on Wednesday. Stull added seven draw controls, five ground balls and a caused turnover in the two games. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Allie DiDario, Drew March 04, 2019 (Jr, - Whitehouse Station, N.J.) Drew junior Allie DiDario piled up 14 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers to help lead Drew to a 3-0 week. She notched five ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 13-6 victory at DeSales, then notched three GBs and 4 CTs in an 18-15 win over Vassar. DiDario wrapped up the week with six grounds and two caused turnovers in a 12-8 victory at Lebanon Valley. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Talia Bertrando, Juniata February 25, 2019 (Fr., M., Lititz, Pa.) In her first career game, Juniata freshman Tallia Bertrando completely dominated the midfield and had a efficient day shooting the ball. She rattled off seven goals while adding three groundballs, eight draw controls, and two caused turnovers to help the Eagles to a 21-3 victory over Alfred. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Allie DiDario, Drew February 25, 2019 (Jr, - Whitehouse Station, N.J.) Drew junior Allie DiDario earned 12 of her team's 20 draw controls in Drew's 19-7 season-opening win over King's. Her 12 DCs tied her career-high and were just two off the school record. She helped her team dominate possession as the Rangers won 20 of 27 draws on the day. In addition, DiDario scored three goals and handed out one assist, and she also notched three ground balls and one caused turnover. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Raegen Dunn, Scranton February 18, 2019 (So., A - Freehold, N.J.) Scranton junior Raegen Dunn put together the best game of her short career on Saturday against 16th ranked Messiah, scoring a career-high four goals while recording three assists to lead the offense in a dominating 22-7 win. She scored one goal in the first half and three more in the second and two of her three assists also came in the second half of the contest, as well. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Becca Russo, Scranton February 18, 2019 (Jr., M - South Windsor, Conn.) Scranton junior Becca Russo was outstanding in her first game of the year against 16th-ranked Messiah on Saturday, helping Scranton collect a dominating 22-7 win at home. She caused a game-high four turnovers and collected five ground balls, as the Royals defense forced 23 turnovers on the afternoon. RUsso also had four draw controls and an assist on the offensive end in the victory.
