2022 Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Megan Donnelly, Moravian April 18, 2022 Megan Donnelly helped Moravian to a 1-1 record last week with five goals, two assists, 12 draw controls, and three ground balls in the two matches. She had two goals and eight draws in a 12-10 loss to the University of Mary Washington. Donnelly then had three goals, two assists, four draws, and three ground balls in the Greyhounds' 16-15 Landmark Conference win at Susquehanna University. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Chloe Gerhard, Juniata April 18, 2022 Juniata College junior Chloe Gerhard helped the Eagles to another conference victory on Saturday. Gerhard made 14 stops against Elizabethtown College, including denying the Blue Jays on all three of their free position shots. Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Caroline Beckett, Catholic April 11, 2022 Junior Caroline Beckett helped lead No. 16 Catholic to a 2-0 week with wins over University of Mary Washington and Landmark Conference opponent Elizabethtown College. The attacker posted back-to-back hat tricks and contributed four assists while also scooping up six ground balls and causing a turnover. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Emily Schum, Scranton April 11, 2022 The University of Scranton's Emily Schum helped the Royals to 2-0 week against Widener and Susquehanna. Schum finished the week with 16 draw controls, 12 ground balls, and eight caused turnovers to lead her team on the defensive end. Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Julia Gazzola, Goucher April 04, 2022 Goucher College senior Julia Gazzola finished with nine points (seven goals, two assists) in a win over Notre Dame (Md.), scoring her 100th career goal against the Gators in her 31st career game. She added a pair of goals against Susquehanna Saturday. The senior also finished with seven groundballs and four draw controls. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Rachel Rubenstein, Catholic April 04, 2022 Catholic University sophomore Rachel Rubenstein posted seven ground balls and a career-high six caused turnovers in a win over conference Scranton on Saturday. She was a part of the defense that held the Royals scoreless in the fourth quarter. Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Grace Gibbs, Juniata March 28, 2022 Juniata sophomore Grace Gibbs helped the Eagles to a 2-0 week, which was highlighted by the program's first-ever conference win against Goucher. In the 17-0 win in nonconference action against Chatham University, Gibbs scored four goals to go along with two assists. She also added four groundballs, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers. Gibbs shined in the 19-7 victory against the Gophers, scoring a program-record eight goals. She added two groundballs, three draw controls, and two caused turnovers. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Emily Schum, Scranton March 28, 2022 University of Scranton senior Emily Schum helped lead the Royals to a pair of victories this week as she recorded five ground balls, nine draw controls, and five caused turnovers. In the conference opening victory over Elizabethtown, Schum notched her 100th career ground ball. Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Grace Gibbs, Juniata March 21, 2022 Gibbs helped the Eagles to a perfect 3-0, and she had 14 goals, one assist to go along with 17 groundballs, 19 draw controls, and 11 caused turnovers. Gibbs contributed four goals, nine draw controls, six ground balls, and five caused turnovers in the Eagles 19-10 win versus Bridgewater (Va). She turned in a five-goal, one assist performance against Averett, where she also had eight groundballs, five draw controls, and two caused turnovers. In JC's final game of the week, the sophomore scored five goals to go along with three groundballs, five draw controls, and four caused turnovers. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Emily Hoskine, Moravian March 21, 2022 Hoskin helped Moravian to a 1-1 record last week, and she had two goals, 10 ground balls, six draw controls, and three caused turnovers. Hoskin contributed two goals, five ground balls, and four draw controls in the Greyhounds' 22-14 win versus Cabrini University, and she added five ground balls, three caused turnovers, and a pair of draw controls in a 14-10 loss at Montclair State University. Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Lizzy Barrett, Drew March 14, 2022 Barrett erupted for 18 points on nine goals and nine assists to power the Rangers to a 2-0 week during the team's spring break trip to Boston. She started by netting three goals and four assists in a 19-7 victory at Regis, then exploded for six goals and five assists in an 18-6 win at Emerson. Barrett's 11 points versus Emerson fell just one shy of the school record, and her six goals were the most by a Ranger since 2020. In addition, her five assists were the most by a Drew player since 2019. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Emmy Regan, Susquehanna March 14, 2022 Junior goalkeeper Emmy Regan was strong against Arcadia in a 15-8 win over the Knights, as she made 11 saves while allowing just eight goals, posting a save percentage of 57.9 percent while adding one ground ball as well. Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Caroline Chase, Susquehanna March 07, 2022 Caroline Chase helped the Susquehanna women's lacrosse team to a 1-1 week, as she posted 14 points on back-to-back games with seven points apiece. The senior tallied a goal and six assists in a 13-4 win over Hood, adding a ground ball and a caused turnover. She then posted five goals and two helpers, scoring on both of her free-position shots, along with three ground balls in an 18-13 loss to McDaniel. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Kendall Hartt, Drew March 07, 2022 Hartt posted 17 draw controls in a 2-0 week for the Rangers. She registered a career-high 12 draw controls in Drew's 21-6 win over DeSales, a total that was just two shy of the school record. She also tallied five DCs in a 16-15 win over Stockton. In addition, Hartt contributed offensively, scoring two goals in each game. Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Caroline Chase, Susquehanna February 28, 2022 Senior attack Caroline Chase had one of the best games in program and Landmark Conference history Saturday, breaking the school and conference league record for points in a game with 15 in a win over Alvernia. She added four points Wednesday in a come-from-behind victory over Marymount. For the week, Chase finished with eight goals and 11 assists, adding seven ground balls. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Emmy Regan, Susquehanna February 28, 2022 Regan helped the River Hawks earn a 2-0 week, as she totaled 24 saves while finishing with a very strong save percentage of 48.9 percent. On Wednesday afternoon in Arlington, Va., Regan made 10 stops in the victory over Marymount. She then posted 13 saves and a save percentage of 59.1 percent in a 24-9 win over Alvernia. Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Julia Gazzola, Goucher February 21, 2022 Goucher senior Julia Gazzola scored on all four shots she took in Saturday's season opener against McDaniel. She also finished with three caused turnovers and a ground ball. Women's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Rachel Rubenstein, Catholic February 21, 2022 Catholic sophomore Rachel Rubenstein led the team with four draw controls against No. 1 Salisbury. She also had one ground ball and one caused turnover.
