  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Brittney Eady, Moravian
    May 01, 2017
    (Senior, - Jamaica, N.Y.) Eady had a perfect week with a 2-0 mark at first singles and a 2-0 record at first doubles as she helped the Greyhounds to a pair of 5-4 victories in Landmark Conference action as Moravian clinched the third seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament. Eady became the ninth player in school history to reach 50 career singles wins with a straight sets win over Scranton, and she moved into a tie for second in school history with 47 career doubles wins as she and junior Skylar Oliwa captured two wins during the week.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Julia Frattaroli, Scranton
    April 24, 2017
    (Jr., - Newtown, Conn.) Frattaroli pushed her record in conference singles matches to 5-1 overall, as she went 3-0 this past week in the number one flight in singles for the Royals. She also won her seventh match of the year at number one doubles, taking a pair of contests over the weekend.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Eiman Nazif, Moravian
    April 17, 2017
    (Freshman, - Whitehall, Pa.) Nazif picked up to points as the Greyhounds defeated rival Muhlenberg College, 5-4, in the team's only match of the week. She and freshman Lauren Steinert bumped up to first doubles due to an injury and recorded a victory to give Moravian a 2-1 lead. Nazif was then victories at second singles to push the lead to 3-1.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Ashley Camel, Drew
    April 10, 2017
    (Fr., - Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) Freshman Ashley Camel wins her fourth Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week following a 3-1 overall week for Drew, who went 2-0 in Landmark play to remain undefeated at 4-0 in the league. Camel's two wins against Catholic proved vital in a tight 5-4 victory as she won in straight sets at No. 1 singles and 8-3 at the top doubles spot. She then won an important first singles match at Goucher in straight sets to help push Drew to a 5-4 win and a perfect start on their Landmark schedule.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Taylor Helsel, Elizabethtown
    April 03, 2017
    (Sr., - Lancaster, Pa.) Elizabethtown senior Taylor Helsel completed a stunning comeback at No. 1 singles. Helsel teamed with Madison McCall for the first time this season at No. 1 doubles and the duo bested Julia Frattaroli and Nastashia DeNunzio, 8-6. Helsel's result against Frattaroli at No. 1 went a long way in securing the win for the Blue Jays. Helsel won the first set 6-3, but was blanked 6-0 in the second and was on the ropes in the third, trailing 5-1. Helsel battled back, however, forcing the set to extra games before winning the set and match in a tiebreaker 7-6 (8).
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Ty Ty Witten, Drew
    March 27, 2017
    (So., - New Haven, Conn.) Sophomore Ty Ty Witten played a crucial role in the Rangers' 6-3 win over two-time defending Landmark Conference champion Elizabethtown on Saturday. The loss for the Blue Jays snapped a 47-dual match regular season winning streak dating back to E-town's days in the MAC Commonwealth Conference. Witten was 2-0 against the Jays, handily winning at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1. She then teamed with freshman Ashley Camel at No. 1 doubles for an 8-6 victory against E-town's top doubles duo.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Maria Navas Espinal, Drew
    March 20, 2017
    (Fr., - Valle, Columbia) Freshman Maria Navas Espinal was unblemished in singles and doubles victories in Drew's 8-1 win against John Jay on Friday. She breezed past the Bloodhounds' No. 4 singles player, 8-0, in a pro-set before combining with senior Jessica Cheng for an 8-0 whitewash at the second doubles position. Navas Espinal is 8-2 overall in singles this year with a 6-1 mark in dual matches, including a six-match winning streak.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Ashley Camel, Drew
    March 13, 2017
    (Fr., - Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) Freshman Ashley Camel didn't drop a set against opponents' top competition and totaled a 6-0 record throughout singles and doubles play during a 3-0 week for Drew on spring break in Hilton Head, S.C. She won a tiebreaker in the second set against Eastern Nazarene's No. 1, and won a tight first set against the first singles player from Sweet Briar, 7-5, to help the Rangers edge the Vixens 5-4. Her doubles duo outscored opponents 24-12 during the week.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Brittney Eady, Moravian
    March 06, 2017
    (Senior, - Jamaica, N.Y.) Eady helped the Greyhounds open the spring season with a 5-4 win over NCAA Division II Southwest Minnesota State University with both a first singles and first doubles win Sunday evening in Orlando. Eady teamed with junior Skylar Oliwa for an 8-6 win at first doubles for Moravian's only point in doubles play. She then posted a 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 win at first singles to clinch the match and break a 4-4 tie.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Erin Cole (Catholic)
    (So., - Clarksville, Md.) Sophomore standout Erin Cole led the Cardinals to an impressive shutout victory against Hood, 9-0. Cole did not drop a point in two matches for Catholic. She played in the No. 1 singles spot, winning 6-0, 6-0 and teamed with rookie Sierra Musumeci in No. 2 doubles action, going over, 8-0.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Alyssa Fleischman (Susquehanna)
    (Sr., - Aberdeen, N.J.) Over the weekend, Susquehanna senior Alyssa Fleischman posted 2-1 record in singles action, and a 2-1 record in doubles.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Amy Jennings (Susquehanna)
    (Fr., - Canadaigua, N.Y.) SU competed, for the first time this season, at the King's College Invitational in round format. Jennings competed at number 7/8 singles and defeated two opponents - first round against Misericordia's (2-6, 7-5, 10-7); semi-final agaisnt Marywood (2-6, 6-3, 15-13) - to make it to the singles. Jennings and her partner, Julia Spear, competed in the number three doubles spot and won the first round 9-8 against King's College to move to the semi-finals. In the finals, Jennings/Spear lost 8-3 to Misericordia.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Brittney Eady (Moravian)
    (Senior, - Jamaica, N.Y.) Eady helped the Greyhounds open the 2016-17 season with a 9-0 win at Arcadia University by winning in straight sets at first singles and posting an 8-4 win at first doubles.
     
  • Women's Athlete of the Week - Meghan Chemidlin (Elizabethtown)
    (So., - Stewartsville, N.J.) Sophomore Meghan Chemidlin went 3-1 in singles play to reach the final of the Blue 5 Singles bracket at last weekend's ITA Southeast Regional Championships at the University of Mary Washington. Chemidlin, cruised to straight set victories in her first round, quarterfinal and semifinal matches before dropping the final to Bridgewater College's Whitney Kiser in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 10-7, Sunday. Saturday, she defeated Goucher's Leigh Oehrig 6-2, 6-2 and Grove City's Linnea Peters 6-4, 6-3. Chemidlin advanced to the final against Kiser by defeating Virginia Wesleyan's Katie Staman 6-2, 6-4 Sunday morning.
