Athlete of the Week - Kelly Reynolds (Juniata)
(Sr., all - Upper Saint Clair, Pa.) Reynolds totaled 186 assists in three matches for the Eagles this weekend in Chicago. She had 54, 59, and 49 assists in each match. Her 54 assists against Aurora put her over 4,000 for her career and became the 6th Juniata player to do so. On the week, Reynolds also had 15 service aces with a high of six made against the Maroons. She also put up 10 digs against Elmhurst and Chicago.
Athlete of the Week - Nakita Gearhart (Juniata)
(Sr., all - Waynesboro, Pa.) Gerhart had a strong weekend for the Eagles. In three matches, she hit .482 with 29 kills and five service aces. She had a team-best .625 hitting percentage as Juniata defeated Goucher 3-0 on Saturday. Gearhart also contributed on the defensive end with 14 total digs.
Athlete of the Week - Katie Byrne (Juniata)
(So., all - Annapolis, Md.) Byrne was a solid contributor for the Eagles this past week. She totaled 67 digs on the week with a high of 28 against Division II Clarion on Tuesday. In a Landmark win over E-Town, she had two service aces and 10 digs as the Eagles defeated the Blue Jays 3-0.
Athlete of the Week - Kathryn Herrington (Catholic)
(Sr., MH - Gainesville, Fla.) Herrington led Catholic to a perfect 5-0 week, including four victories at the CUA Guetle Invitational for the championship trophy. The senior went for double-digit kills in each of the tournament games and earned MVP and All-Tournament honors. She hit and impressive .427 for the week and added six service aces and 20 digs. She was also strong at the from of the net, totaling 15 blocks, posting five and four in the final two games.
Athlete of the Week - Marykate Sherkness (Susquehanna)
(Sr, OH - Treskow, Pa.) Sherkness combined for 55 kills, six digs and two blocks as SU went 3-1 on the weekend. The senior outside hitter was also nominated to the All-Tournament team. She averaged 3.24 kills per set for the weekend.
Athlete of the Week - Michelle Seals (Catholic)
(Jr., S - Danville, Calif.) Junior setter Michelle Seals led the Cardinals to a 3-0 week as the Cardinals swept its Landmark-opening weekend along with not dropping a single set in three straight-set wins. Seals was over 30 assists in every game, posting back-to-back games 37 helpers in both conference matchups. She also added a double-double performance with 32 assists and 10 digs in a regional test against Washington College. She averaged 11.78 assists per set for the week and totaled 106 assists, two service aces, 17 digs, two blocks and a kill. Seals currently leads the nation in total assists with 584.
Athlete of the Week - Suzanne Gloekler (Juniata)
(Sr., OH - Pittsburgh, Pa.) Gloekler had a strong weekend for the Eagles at the Clarkson Invitational. She had a weekend high of 20 kills and hit .500 as Juniata held off Ithaca 3-2. Overall, she totaled 46 kills and hit a collective .447.
