2015-16 Track & Field Athletes of the Week Men's Athlete of the Week - Zach Trama (Elizabethtown) October 19, 2015 (Senior, West Chester, Pa.) Elizabethtown's Zach Trama finished sixth overall for the second straight meet and ran an all-time best 8k in the process. Trama broke the 25-minute barrier for the first time in his career and cruised to sixth in a field of 231 competitors. The finish was his third top-ten placement in five meets in 2015. Athlete of the Week - Lydia Dearie (Elizabethtown) October 19, 2015 (Senior, Sykesville, Md.) Elizabethtown senior Lydia Dearie was inside the top 15 for the fourth time in five meets this past Saturday at Rowan's Inter-Regional Border Battle. Dearie placed 13th overall out of 229 runners in a new 6k PR time of 21:52.80, the first time she's broken 22 minutes in a collegiate 6k race. Men's Athlete of the Week - Connor Cole (USMMA) October 12, 2015 (Fr., Alpharetta, Ga.) Cole paced the Mariners with a 24th place finish at the James Early Invite this past Saturday up in Massachusetts. He crossed the finish line of the 8K race with a time of 27:10.20. Women's Athlete of the Week - Kayla Jackson (Drew) October 12, 2015 (Fr, Vineland, N.J.) For the fourth consecutive week to start the 2015 season, freshman Kayla Jackson paced the Rangers in a 6,000-meter cross country race with a time of 26:11 at the DeSales Invitational. She finished in 37th out of 175 total runners. Men's Athlete of the Week - Zach Trama (Elizabethtown) October 05, 2015 (Senior, West Chester, Pa.) Elizabethtown senior Zach Trama was in the top ten for the second time in three races on Saturday at Geneseo, running a new 8k PR of 25:14.3 to place sixth overall and lead E-town to a sixth-place finish in the team standings, the best of any Mideast Region team at the meet. Athlete of the Week - Ashley West (Susquehanna) October 05, 2015 (Sr., East Hampton, N.Y.) Competing against NCAA Division I, II and III schools, West finished 41st of 386 runners and 15th among Division III runners. Her time of 22:18 was the fastest time of any Landmark runners (four schools in attendance) by 36 seconds. She has the two fastest times in the 6K in the conference this year. Men's Athlete of the Week - John Crowe (Susquehanna) September 28, 2015 (Sr., Boalsburg, Pa.) Senior John Crowe finished sixth overall and was the first collegiate runner out of 257 runners at the Lock Haven Invitational. His time of 25:34.12 is a personal best and the top time in the conference thus far this season. Women's Athlete of the Week - Sarah Hughes (Moravian) September 28, 2015 (Junior, Telford, Pa.) Hughes ran a career best time of 23:16.61 to finish 11th of 164 runners on the 6,000-meter long course at the 2015 Dickinson College Long/Short Course Invitational at Big Spring High School Saturday. The race was on the same course that will be used for the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional in November. Men's Athlete of the Week - Connor Cole (USMMA) September 21, 2015 (Fr., Alpharetta, Ga.) Freshman Connor Cole helped lead the USMMA men's cross country team to a second place finish at Rowan's Bill Fritz/ Charlie Way Invitational this past Saturday in Southern New Jersey. The rookie crossed the finish line in sixth place and led the squad with a time of 27:16.96 in the men's 8K race. Women's Athlete of the Week - Melissa Hiatt (Catholic) September 21, 2015 (Fr., Newington, N.H.) CUA's rookie continues to impress, leading the Cardinals to a third-place finish at the Seahawk Invitational with a 13th-place finish and a time of 25:07. Men's Athlete of the Week - John Crowe (Susquehanna) September 14, 2015 (Sr., Boalsburg, Pa.) Crowe finished second of 165 runners at the Cougar Classic (hosted by Misericordia). His time over the hilly 8KM was 26:40.42. He was just 14 seconds off the first place runner. Athlete of the Week - Ashley West (Susquehanna) September 14, 2015 (Sr., East Hampton, N.Y.) West picked up her first collegiate cross country individual win at the Cougar Classic (hosted by Misericordia University). West was 14 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Her time is the fourth fastest time run on this challenging course. Men's Athlete of the Week - Corey Wasilnak (Scranton) September 08, 2015 (Sr., Endwell, N.Y.) Wasilnak led the Royals to third place in the season-opening Misericordia Invitational, a 5K event, on Tuesday, Sept. 4. Four days later, he finished 29th out of 112 to help Scranton finish fifth among 10 teams at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational at Vassar College. He completed the 6K course in 20:52.6. Women's Athlete of the Week - Brenna McNamee (Elizabethtown) September 08, 2015 (Sophomore, Downingtown, Pa.) Elizabethtown sophomore Brenna McNamee started off her 2015 season strongly, taking seventh overall at the Galen E. Piper XC Challenge hosted by Shippensburg University this past Friday night. McNamee dropped nearly 30 seconds off her previous 4k-best, running 15:13 as the first Blue Jays' runner to finish. She led the Jays to a team victory, the second time in the past four seasons E-town has won the Ship meet.
