TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna’s Amy Kaschak has been selected as the Landmark’s Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Senior Scholar Athlete for the 2016-17 season. Kaschak is the 28th River Hawk to earn senior scholar accolades, and she is the fifth women’s track & field honoree.
This spring, Kaschak won the steeplechase with a Landmark Conference record 11:08.82. She also finished fifth in the 1,500 meter run at the outdoor championships. At this past winter’s indoor championship meet, Kaschak was third in the mile and third in the 3,000 meter run.
Kaschak maintained a perfect 4.00 grade-point average as a mathematics major. She was selected to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team as well as being named to the Landmark Academic Honor Roll in each of her eligible semesters.
The Landmark Conference selects 20 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.
The honorees must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, faculty athletic representatives, senior woman administrators, and sports information directors. Chosen at the end of each sport season, the eight spring honorees will be announced over the next week.
