GRAND LAKE, Colo- The IWLCA has announced the 57 student-athletes who were named to one of the 2019 Division III All-American team.

An historic 2019 season for The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team and junior defender Becca Russo continued to be recognized on Monday evening, as she was named to the 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III All-American Team, nabbing a Second Team selection. With her selection to the IWLCA All-American Team, Russo becomes just the second Scranton women's lacrosse student-athlete to earn the recognition from the organization in program history, joining Liz Baumbach, who earned All-American honors after the 2003 season. Russo is also the 70th All-American selection in the history of The University of Scranton athletics programs.

With her selection to the IWLCA All-American squad, Russo is also the first student-athlete (male or female) in Scranton history to be named an All-American in two different sports, as she earned the honor from the United Soccer Coaches in November for her play on the women's soccer team (Second Team All-American).

The selection to the IWLCA All-American team for Russo bookends an incredible 2019 campaign for her and the Royals.

Overall, Scranton finished with their best record in program history at 16-3 and were runners-up in the Landmark Conference. The Royals were also a mainstay in the IWLCA Division III Top 25 for most of the season, ending the regular year 20th in the rankings nationally.

On the season, Russo led the Landmark Conference in ground balls with 74 and was second in caused turnovers with 41. She also helped ignite the offense, ending the year with 79 draw controls, the seventh-best mark in the Landmark. For her efforts, Russo was named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team as a defender for the third straight season, as well, and to the IWLCA All-Boardwalk Region First Team for the second straight season.

Off the field, Russo has also been honored for her work, as she was named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Division III At-Large Team.

Catholic University women's lacrosse seniors Erin Dugan and Jess Lyons were both named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American Third Team on Monday, marking the fifth-straight year that the Cardinals have had at least one All-America selection.

Dugan earned her second-straight selection after being named to the second team a year ago. She is the fourth Cardinal to earn multiple All-America honors, joining Kate Robinson, Mary Swarthout and Becky Borrell, and first since 2011.

Dugan was a four-time All-Landmark Conference and three-time IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region selection. She was one of six players to start all 22 games this season and finished third on the team with 38 ground balls and 68 draw controls. She also totaled 12 caused turnovers. The 2019 Landmark Conference Women's Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete, she finished her career with 148 ground balls, 237 draw controls and 77 caused turnovers in 84 games while making 82 starts.

Lyons is the 11th different player to earn IWLCA All-America honors for Catholic and sixth in the last five years. A three-time All-Landmark Conference and two-time IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region selection, she started all 22 games this season and led the team with 56 goals, 66 points, 83 draw controls and 33 caused turnovers while ranking second with 48 ground balls. She finished her career with 131 goals, 23 assists, 154 points, 135 ground balls, 194 draw controls and 79 caused turnovers in 83 games while making 60 starts.
