TOWSON, Md. – Moravian University hosted the 13th Annual Landmark Conference Research Symposium on July 21.

The goal of the Summer Research Symposium was to create a way for students to come together in an academic setting while allowing students working on summer research projects to present their work to faculty and peers from other Landmark institutions. Participants gave presentations in either a poster or oral format.

A total of eight Landmark Conference student-athletes participated in the Summer Research Symposium. As NCAA Division III members, the Landmark Conference has embraced the division's philosophy that places its primary focus on academics.

“The Landmark Research Symposium allowed me to share my research and learn about the research from people outside of Goucher,” said women’s soccer student-athlete Finley Lindsey. “This opportunity allowed me to work on my presentation skills and broaden my scope of Biology and other assorted subjects. I also enjoy the fact that I can learn more about the institutions in the Landmark, compared to the brief interactions when competing against them in athletics."

“The symposium was a great experience for me to share what I have been working on this summer,” said Elizabethtown cross county and track and field student-athlete Thomas Urrunaga. “It gave me an incredible opportunity to explore other fields of research and inquire fellow researchers about what they have been working on. Overall, it was a great time and helpful for all invited.”
