Men's Lacrosse Awards Announced

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference announced its 2023 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams on Tuesday afternoon.

Teams are nominated and selected by the eight league head coaches.

Offensive Player of the Year: Riley Langen (Elizabethtown College)
Offensive Player of the Year: Christopher Crapanzano (University of Scranton)
Defensive Player of the Year: Jacob Griffin (Elizabethtown College)
Rookie of the Year: Jacob Morgan (Goucher College)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Elizabethtown College (Kyle McGuire)

Langen helped the Blue Jays to a perfect 7-0 conference record, which clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Landmark Men's Lacrosse Championship. The senior, who earns his first nod on the All-Conference First Team, etched his name into the conference record books last Saturday, becoming the single-season points leader with 92. He is also now the leader in assists in conference games only with 31.

Through 15 games, Langen has scored 33 goals and dished out a league-leading 59 assists. He is the second straight Blue Jays to be named Offensive Player of the Year, joining former teammate Owen Yake who was honored in 2022.

Crapanzano is the second Royal to earn Offensive Player of the Year since the conference started awarding it in 2019. On Saturday, the senior scored his 100th career goal to lift Scranton to a 12-9 victory to lock in the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Men's Lacrosse Championship.

He ranks third in the conference with 49 goals and is fifth in groundballs with 95.

Griffin's Defensive Player of the Year honor is the third time in the last five years a Blue Jays player has been selected.

Griffin, a graduate faceoff specialist, etched his name into the Landmark's record book by breaking the conference game faceoff record (120), originally set last season by former teammate Danny Gilbert. He also tied Gilbert's conference game groundballs record (81), as well.

Morgan is the first men's lacrosse player from Goucher since 2009 when Kyle Boncaro was selected, to garner Rookie of the Year honors. The first-year player played in all 15 of the Gophers games this season where he scored 28 goals and added 29 assists for 57 points.

McGuire and his staff have guided the Blue Jays to an 11-4 overall record and an undefeated record in conference action. The Coaching Staff of the Year honor is the first for McGuire as a head coach at Etown.

Elizabethtown has made it to the championship game the last two years but has not won a title since 2019.
