Panico Chosen As Landmark Men’s Lacrosse Senior Scholar-Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athletes in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.

Moravian University men’s lacrosse student-athlete James Panico has been named a 2025-26 Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete. A health sciences major with a concentration in pre-physical therapy, Panico graduated with a 3.75 grade point average and helped the Greyhounds reach the Landmark Conference Tournament three times during his career. He becomes the second Moravian student-athlete this academic year to earn Senior Scholar-Athlete recognition, joining Bryan Kerchner of men’s cross country, and the first Greyhound men’s lacrosse player to receive the honor.

Panico helped Moravian earn conference tournament appearances in 2024, 2025, and 2026, while picking up Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition in 2026. He closed his career with 77 ground balls and 33 caused turnovers.

In the classroom, Panico earned College Sports Communicator (CSC) Academic All-District honors and was a three-time selection to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. He was also named to the Moravian Dean’s Honors List six times and became a member of Moravian’s Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.

Panico also stayed active in campus and community initiatives throughout his time at Moravian, participating in events such as Boo at the Zoo, Moravian Heritage Day, and The Hidden Opponent in support of mental health awareness.
