Sanders Named Women's Golf Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors.


Drew University's Nyah Sanders was selected as the conference 2022-23 Women's Golf Senior Scholar-Athlete. Sanders is the fourth Ranger this academic year to be selected as a Senior Scholar-Athlete, and the second women's golfer. She joins Kristine Masseria who was named in 2021.

A three-time All-Conference First Team selection, Sanders was named the Rookie of the Year in 2021, and she helped the Rangers win the 2022 conference title. At the 2023 conference championship, Sanders finished third with a two-day score of 157 (83-74). For her career, Sanders has played in 29 rounds with a scoring average of 86.2.

Sanders, who has a 3.52 grade points average as a marketing major, will graduate from Drew in three years. She is a two-time Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll selection and was an intern at Creative Investigative Services in the Fall of 2021.

She additionally studied abroad in the Fall of 2022, interning for Raishamn, London.
