TOWSON, Md. - After the completion of the 2024 Landmark Conference Women's Golf Championship, the league office announced its 2023-24 Women's Golf All-Conference teams on Monday afternoon.
The conference recognizes a First Team, Second Team, and an Honorable Mention team.
Player of the Year: Lauren Lombardo (Catholic University)
Rookie of the Year: Kyleen McCance (Wilkes University)
Coaching Staff of the Year: Catholic University (Ed Dolan)
Lauren Lombardo etched her name in the Landmark Conference history books by winning the tournament in a one-hole playoff over Drew's Kayla Diaz, one of the best players to ever play in the conference. Lombardo erased a four-stroke day-one deficit by matching her personal best and the program-record-low round with an even-par 72 on Sunday. The junior clinched the victory and Landmark Conference Player of the Year honors when she produced a par on the first playoff hole while Diaz bogeyed.
Wilkes University Kyleen McCance finished off a stellar first season for the Colonels finishing third overall and earning First Team All-Landmark Conference honors and Rookie of the Year.
McCance was brilliant on day two carding a personal low 73 (+1) after shooting a 76 in the opening round. Her two-day total of 149 was just one stroke shy of the leaders, who had to go to a playoff hole to decide a winner. McCance becomes the first Wilkes women's golfer to earn All-Conference honors and the first to be named Rookie of the Year.
Ed Dolan and Kaleigh McDonald were honored as the coaching staff of the year after leading the Cardinals to a comprehensive victory. The Cardinals produced the third and fourth-lowest single-day rounds in program history to win the tournament with a score of 629 (+53), 43 strokes better than Drew.
