TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes annually, recognizing student-athletes in each sport, and considering academic and athletic achievements.
Senior Scholar-Athlete History
These honorees must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are chosen by a committee comprising Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications personnel, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.
Madi Cunningham of Moravian University is the 2024 Landmark Conference Softball Senior Scholar-Athlete. She is the fifth Greyhound to win the award, and the first since Mary Schlosbon in 2016.
Leading the Greyhounds to their second consecutive Landmark Conference softball championship, Cunningham's 1.83 ERA was third in the Landmark this season and led all pitchers with 18 wins on 21 starts. She had 82 strikeouts with the second-lowest batter average in the conference (.201).
In 2023, Cunningham was a First Team All-Conference selection and was NCAA Division III Cambridge (Mass.) Super Regional Most Outstanding Player as the Greyhounds advanced to the 2023 NCAA Division III Championship.
Cunningham has made her mark from the moment she stepped foot in the Landmark Conference. She was Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-Conference in 2022, totaling three All-Conference selections, and won the 2023 Landmark Conference Tournament Most Oustanding Player award to go along with her two conference championships.
Cunningham was a two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete (2022, 2023) and was selected to the CSC All-District team in 2023.
With a stellar 3.98 GPA, the Economics-Finance major and Art minor will graduate in three years, balancing student roles as an Economics tutor and teacher assistant for America Reads.
