Catholic & Scranton to Represent the Landmark in NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS - The Landmark Conference is sending two of its top programs to the 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament. Catholic University and the University of Scranton will both compete in First and Second Round action this weekend.

Catholic University secured its eighth Landmark title and the first three-peat in conference history, earning its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 10th overall. The Cardinals (15-3-3), will travel to Cortland, N.Y., to face Amherst College in the First Round on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m. at T. Fred Holloway Field. Amherst, the defending national champions, captured last year’s title with a 4-3 victory on penalty kicks over Connecticut College.

The other teams in the four-team Cortland pod are hosts Cortland and SUNY Delhi.

Catholic’s best NCAA run came in 2022 when the program reached the Sweet 16.

Scranton earned an at-large bid and will host a four-team pod at Weiss Field. The Royals will open against St. Joseph’s (L.I.) on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 3:30 p.m., following the Williams vs. La Roche match at 1:00 p.m. Winners advance to the Second Round on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 3:00 p.m., with a berth in the Sweet 16 at stake.

Scranton’s standout 2025 season has featured one of the nation’s top defenses, leading Division III in goals against average (0.110), goals allowed (2), shutout percentage (0.889), and save percentage (0.955).
