Friday Focus with Abobeleh Nkemawung

Goucher College | Men's Soccer

TOWSON, Md. - Friday Focus is the Landmark Conference’s weekly student-athlete spotlight, giving us a chance to get to know the people who make up our conference both on and off the field.

This week, we’re catching up with Goucher College men’s soccer student-athlete Abobeleh Nkemawung, who shares the mindset that helps him navigate life as a student-athlete, the person who has inspired him most, and the legacy he hopes to leave at Goucher. Abobeleh also reveals his love of cars, his adventurous bucket list, and a few of his favorite things away from the field.

What's something people might be surprised to learn about you, and why is it important to you?
The fact that I don’t take many things seriously, and that’s important to me because it actually keeps me sane

If you weren't competing in your current sport, what sport would you choose and why?
I’d be a race car driver, as I like cars.

What's one item on your bucket list and what makes it meaningful to you? To eat a shark in Iceland, because it’s a symbol showing that I can do whatever I want whenever I want

Who inspires you the most and what have you learned from them?
My father; he taught me that you’ll have to fight for whatever you want.
