Catholic's Sean Neylon Becomes Sixth Player in Program History to Earn NABC Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Joining the likes of Jesse Hafemeister, Jay Howard, Bryson Fonville, Chris Kearney, and Matt Hilleary, Sean Neylon has been named a third-team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) making him the sixth player in program history to receive the honor. He is the 15th different player in program history to receive any All-America honor.

A day after earning all-region nods from both the NABC and D3hoops.com, Neylon continues to bring home the hardware after an impressive senior campaign that also saw him named Landmark Conference Player of the Year. 

Neylon, a native of Wilmington, Delaware, averaged 16.4 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game while knocking down threes at a rate up there with any in the country. On the season, Neylon hit 92 threes, making them at a 46 percent clip. Neylon played 31.3 minutes per contest, made 47.3 percent of his shots, and knocked down 95.7 percent of his free throws. 

The sharpshooter ranks sixth in the country in threes made and seventh in three-point percentage despite missing a tournament game with an illness. The Delaware native raised his level in conference play, up ticking his scoring to 18.4 points per game while shooting 50 percent from deep on 132 tries. He averaged 3.7 makes per game from three-point range. 

After becoming the 49th player in Catholic history to reach 1,000 career points, Neylon finishes his career 45th with 1,034 points in just three seasons. With 311 points as a freshman at Ursinus, Neylon finishes his career with 1,345 points. 

Neylon put forth 17 games with 15 or more points this season, scoring 20 or more points 10 times.
