Catholic Wins Third Straight Landmark Women's Golf Crown

Cardinals Win Title Via League Tiebreaker

DELAWARE, Pa. For the first time in league history, the Landmark Conference Women's Golf Championship was decided via a tiebreaker. Catholic University and Drew University both finished with a two-day total of 649 (+73) and after a thrilling final round, the Cardinals claimed their third consecutive Landmark Conference Women’s Golf title and their fourth overall.

Catholic shot 329 (+41) on Sunday, while Drew posted a 330 (+42). The two teams finished tied at 649 (+73), with Lauren Wright and Avery Mrak each shooting 86 (+14) for Catholic. Drew’s Emily Rhode shot 94 (+22), settling the tiebreaker in Catholic’s favor.

Susquehanna University finished third with a score of 696 (+120), followed by the University of Scranton in fourth at 749 (+173) and Elizabethtown College in fifth with 783 (+207). Wilkes University placed sixth at 791 (+215), with Goucher College (814, +238), Juniata College (835, +259), and Marywood University (931, +355) rounding out the field.

Moravian did not compete as a team but was represented by Heidi Wegscheider, who finished 11th with a two-day total of 172 (+28), and Ella Oswald, was tied for 26th with 195 (+51).

Individually, Drew’s Josephine Nguyen led the field with a score of 150 (+6). Catholic’s Brooke Smith and Lauren Lombardo took second and third with scores of 156 (+12) and 160 (+16), respectively. Drew’s Roxy Riles and Catholic’s Gabrielle Courtney rounded out the top five, shooting 161 (+17) and 163 (+19), respectively.

Susquehanna’s Kennedy Petrovich and Wilkes’ Kyleen McCance both finished tied for sixth with 165 (+21), while Drew’s Cassie Sengul took eighth with 166 (+22). Catholic’s Avery Mrak finished ninth with a 170 (+26), and Susquehanna’s Peyton Cerminaro completed the top 10 with a score of 171 (+27).
