Landmark Announces 2025-26 Women's Basketball All-Conference

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference announced its 2025-26 Women's Basketball All-Conference selections and major award winners on Wednesday, March 4.

Coaches nominate student-athletes and vote for the All-Conference teams and individual "Of the Year" honors following the regular season.

Player of the Year: Kaci Kranson (University of Scranton)
Defensive Player of the Year: Kaeli Romanowski  (University of Scranton)
Rookie of the Year: Sophia Talutto  (University of Scranton)
Coaching Staff of the Year: University of Scranton

For the second time in her career, Kranson has been named the league's Player of the Year, marking the 13th time a Lady Royal has received the honor. The senior captain led her team to a perfect 27–0 regular season to secure the program's 11th consecutive conference championship. This season, Kranson cemented her place in conference history, becoming the all-time leading scorer with 1,922 career points, surpassing fellow Lady Royal Meredith Mesaris (2011–15). Now a four-time First Team All-Landmark selection, she continues to power the Scranton offense, averaging 18.7 points per game while adding 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 assists per contest. Kranson led the Landmark in points per game, field goal percentage, and three-point percentage, while also scoring double-figures in all but two games this year.

Romanowski's Defensive Player of the Year selection marks the second time in her career that she has earned the honor, joining Emily Sheehan as the only Lady Royal to receive the award twice. The senior continues to anchor Scranton's dominant defensive unit, which tops the nation by limiting opponents to just 42.1 points per game this season. Romanowski leads the conference with 104 steals, which ranks eighth in the NCAA, and set a new Landmark single-season record. She is also making a strong presence on the glass and on offense for the Lady Royals, totaling 157 rebounds while leading the Landmark with 116 assists and ranking third in the nation with a 3.74 assist-to-turnover ratio.

For the third time in the last four years, a Lady Royal has been named Rookie of the Year. Sophia Talutto joins current teammates Kaci Kranson (2023) and Meghan Lamanna (2024) in earning the honor. Talutto has played in every single game for Scranton this season, averaging 7.3 points per game, 2.15 steals, and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Ben O'Brien has earned his second Coaching Staff of the Year honor after guiding the Lady Royals to the program's 11th conference championship, 14th overall. Since taking over the program in 2022, he has led his team to three unbeaten Landmark seasons and four conference titles. O'Brien, alongside assistants Hannah Angelini, Tom Kosin, and Erica Haefele, has quickly elevated the Lady Royals, capturing this award for the second time in the last four seasons. Together, the staff has developed a high-powered squad that currently ranks third in the nation in scoring, averaging 80.9 points per game.

The Lady Royals are set to continue their season in the NCAA Tournament, tipping off against Framingham State University on March 6 at 8:30 p.m.
