TOWSON, Md. - As the Landmark Conference counts down to the start of the 2026-27 academic year, the Conference will revisit some of the best stories from its member institutions through the Landmark Rewind series.
Running August 3-14, Landmark Rewind will spotlight one Landmark institution each weekday by featuring two stories originally produced by that school's athletics department. From student-athlete features and championship moments to community impact and campus initiatives, the series gives fans another opportunity to discover the people and programs that make the Landmark Conference special before fall competition begins.
Susquehanna senior Julia Roth wrapped an incredible career with the River Hawks in 2025-26 with accolades that put her among the finest to ever wear the orange and maroon uniform. Before her final season, she was named a Kay Yow Servant Leader. Throughout the season, she was a driving force behind the River Hawks’ first 20-win campaign in over 30 years, while receiving votes in the d3Hoops national rankings. And finally, she was invited to appear in the WBCA Division III All-Star Game, which took place prior to the national championship game in Salem, Va.
Roth graduated with a double major in both political science and criminal justice. She was twice named to the CSC Academic All-District team and was named to the Landmark Conference All-Sportsmanship team in 2023. Entering her senior season, she was named a Kay Yow Servant Leader, bestowed to only 61 student-athletes across all three NCAA divisions.
Julia was Co-President of SAAC and is also part of Pi Gamma Mu Social Sciences Honors Society, where she served as President. Roth was a member of the Theta Xi Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Honors Society. Despite playing only three full seasons due to injury, she added her name to the record books with 644 career rebounds, putting her in ninth all-time, while scoring 912 career points and finishing with 162 career steals. Following her prolific senior season this winter, Roth achieved what very few Susquehanna women's basketball players have done, earning First Team All-Landmark, Second Team All-Region, and an invitation to play in the WBCA Division III All-Star Game.
Susquehanna University echoed these accolades, choosing Roth as the 2026 recipient of the Connie M. Harnum Senior Scholar-Athlete Award. This award is given annually to the senior female student-athlete who best represents the ideals of intercollegiate athletics. It is named for Hall of Fame head coach Connie Harnum, whose tenure at Susquehanna included 27 seasons as the head field hockey coach as well as head coach of the women's tennis team.
