Scranton Wins First-Ever Landmark Women's Indoor T&F Title

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The University of Scranton made history at the 2026 Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship, becoming just the third program ever to claim the women's crown and the first for Scranton since sponsoring the sport as an NCAA varsity program in 2018.

Track Highlights
Samantha Sharrow of Scranton was the meet's most versatile athlete, winning the 60m in 7.70, a new championship record set in the prelims, and adding the 200m in 25.42, plus a long jump victory at 5.62m. Scranton's Kyrianna Nemitz also turned in a double win, taking both the mile (5:06.79) and 3,000m (10:22.58).

Drew University's Emily Camlet set a championship record in the 400m with a time of 57.06, while Kirsten Navich of Elizabethtown College claimed the 800m in 2:21.79. Emma Shafnisky of Moravian University won the 60m hurdles in 9.05. Catholic earned top honors in two relay events: the 4x400 relay (McConnell/Byrnes/Brown/Vo) in 4:04.31 and the distance medley relay (Sampong/Walsh/Hannan/Roche) in 13:07.71. Scranton's 4x200 relay squad (Miller/Miniotis/Grantham/Smith) also crossed first in 1:45.95.

Field Event Excellence
Molly White of Scranton dominated the jumps, winning both the high jump (1.55m) and triple jump (11.22m). In the pole vault, Kendall Simms of Susquehanna cleared 3.61m to earn the title. Elizabethtown's Isabella Cowger broke both the championship and Landmark records in the shot put with a throw of 13.34m, while Moravian's Kara Vashey took the weight throw at 16.25m.
