Track and Field 5/21/2026 10:21:06 PM Catholic Athletic Communications Brunet Caps of Season at the DIII NCAA Championships LA CROSSE, Wis. – Michael Brunet of the Catholic University men's track and field team ended his season on the national stage after competing in the 1500m prelims. The freshman racked up an impressive first year at Catholic, topped off with the opportunity to travel to the NCAA championship and race in the 1500m. Brunet ran 3:53.43 in the event, placing 18th out of the 22 athletes in the championship field. He finished only 7.25 seconds behind the first-place finisher in the prelims. With his appearance, this marks the fourth consecutive year that a Catholic athlete will compete at the outdoor championships. Also, this is the third time that a freshman has competed in the outdoor championships in program history and the third to compete in the 1500m.
