Track and Field 5/3/2026 10:10:13 PM Scranton Women's Track & Field Capture First-Ever Outdoor Landmark Title HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The University of Scranton women’s track and field team made program history, capturing its first-ever outdoor conference title at the 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Juniata College. Scranton finished with 196 points to secure the championship. Scranton’s championship push was highlighted by a dominant Sunday showing that included multiple individual titles and podium finishes across the track and field events. Jocelyn Smith won the 100-meter dash in a facility-record time of 12.21, while Olivia Miller captured the 800-meter title in a program-record 2:15.35. Kyrianna Nemitz added another championship in the 5,000 meters, with Emily Hopkins finishing second to give Scranton a 1-2 finish in the event. Molly White delivered one of the biggest performances of the weekend, winning both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles, with her 1:02.40 in the 400-meter hurdles setting a program and facility record. She also added a triple jump title and multiple podium finishes across the meet. Scranton added depth throughout the lineup, including a third-place finish in the 4x100 relay and another podium in the 4x400 relay to close out the meet. Moravian finished runner-up behind a strong all-around effort that included a meet-record performance from Tara Smurla in the 10,000 meters (36:23.33). The Greyhounds also scored heavily across the field events and relays, with Emma Shafnisky winning the 100-meter hurdles and steady scoring across the jumps, throws, and distance events. Catholic placed third behind a strong sprint and relay, showing that it featured multiple event wins and record-setting performances. The Cardinals opened the final day with a pair of relay victories, as the 4x100 team tied the program record in 48.06 and the 4x400 squad broke the venue record in 3:55.93. Catholic also picked up major points in the sprints, led by Kortney Clipper’s runner-up finishes in both the 100 and 200 meters, along with strong scoring depth across the 400 hurdles, 800 meters, and field events.
