Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year Finalist: Kaeli Romanowski

TOWSON, Md. – University of Scranton women’s basketball student-athlete Kaeli Romanowski has been named a finalist for the Landmark Conference Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, an honor recognizing graduating seniors who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service throughout their collegiate careers. The league’s overall Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be selected from four finalists and submitted for consideration for the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Romanowski established herself as a standout student-athlete while maintaining a 3.97 grade point average as a Finance major. She played a pivotal role in one of the most successful seasons in program history, helping guide the Lady Royals to a 32-1 record, an undefeated regular season, a third consecutive Landmark Conference championship, and a national runner-up finish in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship. Scranton's appearance in the national title game marked the program's first since 1985.

On the court, Romanowski earned First Team All-Landmark honors in 2024 and 2026 and Second Team recognition in 2025. She was named the Landmark Defensive Player of the Year twice (2024, 2026) and the conference Most Valuable Player in 2025. During her senior season, she ranked fifth nationally with 111 steals and third in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.81). Romanowski also garnered D3hoops.com Fifth Team All-America honors, Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Honorable Mention All-America recognition, and First Team All-Region accolades in 2026.

Academically, Romanowski was a three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and earned CSC Second Team Academic All-America honors in 2026, demonstrating her commitment to excellence in both the classroom and on the court.

Beyond competition and academics, Romanowski served as team captain during the 2025-26 season and was active in the Future Business Leaders of America. Through her involvement with FBLA, she managed internal communications, helped organize fundraising and service initiatives, and supported efforts to expand chapter membership and visibility. Her leadership extended to competition, where she earned first place in Parliamentary Procedure at both the 2025 State Leadership Conference and the 2025 National Leadership Conference.
