Landmark Announces Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference has released the Athletes of the Week. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

For the fall season, field hockey, football, soccer, and volleyball will be announced on Monday, followed by cross country, golf, and tennis on Tuesday.

  • Men's Athlete of the Week: Nate Moore (Moravian)
    Nate Moore captured first place at the Stockton University Osprey Open, leading a field of 143 runners with a time of 25:27.8 on the 8,000-meter course. Moore’s individual victory helped propel Moravian to the team title, as the Greyhounds finished first among 15 competing schools.

    Women's Athlete of the Week: Helaina Acker (Moravian)
    Helaina Acker led Moravian at the Stockton University Osprey Open, placing ninth among 124 runners with a personal-best time of 23:23.7 on the 6,000-meter course. Acker’s performance helped the Greyhounds earn a third-place finish among 14 teams.

  • Men’s Athlete of the Week: Marshall Kain (Scranton)
    Marshall Kain delivered a record-setting performance at the King’s Tri-Match, capturing first place with a career-low 68 (-3). Kain’s round helped Scranton claim the team title while posting a program record score of 276. 

    Women’s Athlete of the Week: Kyleen McCance (Wilkes)
    Kyleen McCance earned medalist honors at the Misericordia Fall Invitational, posting a round-low 75 (+3) to capture the individual title. McCance dominated the course, finishing at least 10 strokes ahead of every other competitor to secure first place. 

  • Men’s Athlete of the Week: Lucas Kotcho (Scranton)
    Lucas Kotcho delivered a strong performance at the top of the lineup, helping Scranton earn a 5-2 victory over Lycoming. Competing at No. 1 singles, Kotcho earned a straight-set victory, 6-2, 6-3, before teaming up at No. 1 doubles to secure another win, 6-2. Kotcho finished the match unbeaten with victories in both singles and doubles, contributing two points to Scranton’s team triumph.

    Women’s Athlete of the Week: Carmen Valentino (Catholic)
    Carmen Valentino delivered a dominant weekend for Catholic, going a perfect 5-0 across singles and doubles competition. On Sept. 19, Valentino earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles over St. Mary’s Katherine Yao before partnering with Annie Nemoy for a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles against Batten. She also posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles over Batten’s Anouk Bluemm. Across the weekend, Valentino dropped just six games in singles while remaining unbeaten in all five matches.
