The Landmark Conference Sportsmanship Cup was created by the Landmark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2009 to recognize the institution who best demonstrated good sportsmanship during a given year.
Throughout the year, coaches in collaboration with their captains rank the top three teams in their sport. The team with the highest point total in each sport will be recognized as the team sportsmanship winner. At the end of the year, each school's point total will be divided by the number of Landmark sports its sponsors to determine the Landmark Sportsmanship Cup winner.
Coaches and captains should rank opponents based on their view of the sportsmanship of each institution with factors including, but not limited to: fair play, graciousness in victory, respectfulness in defeat, fan behavior and conduct, courtesy and helpfulness as hosts. Award should under no circumstances be viewed by the voters as a consolation award to be given to the last-place team in its respective sport.
