Freshman Mike Bouhall recorded eight points on six goals and two assists to lead Scranton to a 16-8 win at Moravian on Saturday as the Royals clinched the number two seed in the Landmark Conference playoffs and a home semifinal game. The freshman also picked up two groundballs and had one caused turnover in the win. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Miles Savage, Drew April 29, 2019 (So, FO - Vernon, N.J.) Drew sophomore Miles Savage won 17-of-25 face-offs and picked up 11 ground balls in Drew's 14-13 overtime victory at Goucher. He earned a pair of crucial face-off victories at the end of the game, including one that led to the game-tying goal with nine seconds left. He also won the opening draw in overtime, picking up the ground ball himself to give the Rangers possession they would not relinquish. His 16 face-off wins and 11 ground balls were both season-highs. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Jack Donnelly, Susquehanna April 22, 2019 (Sr, A - Webster, N.Y.) Sefnior Jack Donnelly had himself a game in leading Susquehanna to a win over Catholic as Donnelly had a hand in all but one of the River Hawks' 11 goals. He tallied career-highs of seven goals, three assists, and 10 points. Donnelly also recorded his 100th career point with his fourth point of the game. In addition, he tied the Landmark Conference single-game record for most points in a conference game. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Tom Mahoney, Elizabethtown April 22, 2019 (Jr, G - Hillsborough, N.J.) Elizabethtown junior goalie Tom Mahoney held Scranton to a season-low three goals in Thursday's 9-3 win at Weiss Field. Mahoney stopped nine shots over four quarters as the Blue Jays pulled away over the final two periods. The win pulled E-town into a first-place tie with a chance to finish atop the Landmark with a win against Susquehanna on Saturday. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Quinn Killeen, Scranton April 15, 2019 (Jr., A - Berkeley Heights, N.J.) Junior Quinn Killeen led Scranton to a pair of wins as the Royals clinched a berth in the Landmark Conference playoffs while moving into sole possession of first place in the standings. The junior attackman totaled nine points on seven goals and two assists to go along with five groundballs and one caused turnover. In a 14-5 victory over Drew on Wednesday, Killeen scored four goals and dished out an assist. He followed that performance up with a three-goal, one-assist effort in an 11-7 win at Catholic on Saturday. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Shayne Fallon, Scranton April 15, 2019 (So., G - West Deptford, N.J.) Sophomore Shayne Fallon led Scranton to a 2-0 week, making 22 saves while holding opponents to 6.0 goals against as the Royals clinched a berth in the Landmark Conference playoffs. He made 11 saves in a 14-5 win over Drew on Wednesday before turning aside 11 more shots while holding Catholic to just one second half goal on Saturday as the Royals posted an 11-7 victory on the road over the Cardinals. Fallon finished the week with a 64.7 save percentage with 22 stops on 34 shots faced. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Colton Dick, Susquehanna April 08, 2019 (So, A - Owings, Md.) Susquehanna sophomore Colton Dick had an incredible game for Susquehanna in its only contest of the week. Dick recorded his 100th career point with his fifth point of the game - his second goal of the afternoon. He also netted the game-winning goal with 13.9 seconds left in regulation. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Mike McShea, Catholic April 08, 2019 (Fr., M - Wayne, Pa.,) Catholic freshman Mike McShea won 11 of 17 faceoffs, including 9 of 12 over the final three quarters in Landmark Conference come-from-behind road win at Drew. The Cardinals trailed 6-4 in the third before scoring the final four goals for the win. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Vince Catenacci, Catholic April 01, 2019 (Jr., M - Centerport, N.Y.,) Catholic junior Vince Catenacci scored his second goal of the game with 1:53 remaining in overtime to cap a huge comeback for the Cardinals who in a 14-13 victory over a strong Moravian squad. Catholic trailed the Greyhounds by as many as six with 11:35 left in the second quarter before outscoring them 7-2 in third to punctuate an 8-1 run that saw the Cards take a 12-10 lead. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Tom Mahoney, Elizabethtown April 01, 2019 (Jr, G - Hillsborough, N.J.) Elizabethtown junior goalie Tom Mahoney got both wins for the Blue Jays this past week. Mahoney stopped eight shots against Frostburg State in a 14-10 win and then in three quarters of action at Goucher, only allowed three goals and made six saves in E-town's blowout 22-4 win over the Gophers. Mahoney finished the week with a 7.43 GAA and .519 save percentage. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Michael Elefonte, Scranton March 25, 2019 (Jr., M - Kinnelon, N.J.) Scranton junior Michael Elefonte had a huge week to lead Scranton to a pair of wins, racking up 11 points on eight goals and three assists. The junior midfielder scored five goals to lead the Royals to a 15-12 win at Misericordia on Wednesday while also adding five groundballs and one caused turnover against the Cougars. Elefonte then posted a career-high six points, scoring three goals and assisting on three others, as Scranton won its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday at Susquehanna, 15-7. He also had four groundballs and one caused turnover against the River Hawks. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Rick Guerra, Moravian March 25, 2019 (Sr., FO/Mid - Ringwood, N.J.) Moravian senior Rick Guerra helped the Greyhounds begin the 2019 Landmark Conference season with a 14-7 win over Goucher College on John Makuvek Field. Guerra was 17-for-25 on face-offs in the match, scooping up nine ground balls on those 17 wins to help set up the Moravian offense. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Matt Woodson, Goucher March 18, 2019 (Jr., A - Timonium, Md.) Goucher junior Matt Woodson posted six goals and 11 assists in a 2-1 week for the Gophers. In Goucher's two wins, he registered five goals and 11 assists while breaking the program's single-game assist record with eight helpers in a 13-8 win against Neumann on Wednesday while adding two goals. The junior started the week with a three goal and three assist performance in an 18-8 win against Gordon on Monday and added a tally against Frostburg State on Saturday. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Justin Lugo, Goucher March 18, 2019 (Fr., GK - Davie, Fla.) Goucher freshman Justin Lugo posted a 9.64 goals against average with a .610 save percentage and 36 saves in a 2-1 week for Goucher. In the Gophers two wins, Lugo made 27 saves and allowed 11 goals in 105 minutes of action. He made 14 saves and allowed only three markers in 45 minutes of an 18-8 win against Gordon on Monday and then turned away 13 shots in 60 minutes of a 13-8 victory against Neumann and then made nine saves against Frostburg State on Saturday. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Mark Laratta, Moravian March 11, 2019 (Sr., Att - Budd Lake, N.J.) Moravian senior Mark Laratta helped the Greyhounds to a 3-0 record last week as the Greyhounds improved to 5-0 for the first time in program history. He had 11 goals and four assists for 15 points to go with five ground balls and a caused turnovers while shooting 42.3 percent and putting 73.1 percent of his shots on goal. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Jimmy Schicke, Moravian March 11, 2019 (Jr., LSM - Boonton Township, N.J.) Moravian junior Jimmy Schicke helped the Greyhounds to a 3-0 week as the Greyhounds moved to 5-0 for the first time in program history. He had one assist, 20 ground balls and eight caused turnovers during the three matches. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Mike Scrafano, Elizabethtown March 04, 2019 (Jr, A - Easton, Pa.) Junior Mike Scrafano scored in each of the two games for Elizabethtown this past week. He tallied against #9 Dickinson on Wednesday and in Saturday's win over Messiah, the junior had a career-high 5 goals and 6 points for the Blue Jays. Scrafano scored twice on man-up situations and ended up with the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter that was the difference. He also picked up 7 ground balls between the two games. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Nate Sanders, Drew March 04, 2019 (Jr, GK - Annapolis, Md.) Drew junior Nate Sanders made a career-high 21 saves in Drew's 10-5 loss to Maritime. Facing a 42-shot attack, Sanders tied the fourth-highest save total in school history. He made 10 of his stops in the fourth quarter, when he allowed just one goal while the Privateers piled up 15 shots. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Mark Laratta, Moravian February 25, 2019 (Sr., Att - Budd Lake, N.J.) Senior Mark Laratta helped Moravian to a 2-0 mark to start the 2019 season. He had eight goals and three assists to go with six ground balls and one caused turnover. Laratta had two goals and two assists in a 21-2 win at Centenary (N.J.) University to open the 2019 season. He then had six goals, an assist and four ground balls in a 12-6 victory versus Delaware Valley University with his final goal of the match making Laratta the second player in school history to reach 100 career goals. Defensive Athlete of the Week - Kurt Dick, Moravian February 25, 2019 (Sr., G - Hatboro, Pa.) Senior Kurt Dick helped Moravian start the season with a 2-0 mark in non-conference action. He had a 4.67 goals-against average with 16 saves, a 69.6 save percentage, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in 90 minutes of action. He opened the season with three saves in the first half of a 21-2 victory at Centenary (N.J.) University. Dick then had 13 saves in a 12-6 win versus Delaware Valley University in the 2019 home opener. Offensive Athlete of the Week - Quinn Killeen, Scranton February 18, 2019 (Jr., A - Berkeley Heights, N.J.) Junior Quinn Killeen led Scranton to wins in its first two games of the season, totaling 11 points on eight goals and three assists. In Saturday's season-opening victory at Marywood, the junior attackman scored five goals and had two assists as the Royals defeated the Pacers, 18-9. On Sunday, he netted three goals and had an assist as Scranton won its home opener versus King's, 16-6. Killeen also contributed eight groundballs on the week for the Royals. Defensive Athlete of the Week - James Abramo, Susquehanna February 18, 2019 (Sr, LSM - Millstone, N.J.) Susquehanna sneior James Abramo helped to anchor a strong defensive front as the River Hawks posted its come-from-behind 9-8 home- and season-opening win over Lycoming. Abramo came up with a game-best five caused turnovers and three ground balls, including one caused turnover in the final 2:32 of the game to stall Lycoming's rally.
