First on Wednesday at Utica, Kozak scored a career-high five goals to lead the Royals to a 15-7 non-conference win. He then scored three goals and added an assist in a dominant 28-3 win over Goucher on Saturday afternoon. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Matt Ford, Catholic April 18, 2022 Catholic University freshman Matt Ford posted a career-high five ground balls as the Cardinals won the fourth Landmark game of the season to remain undefeated in conference play. Ford also contributed a career-high two caused turnovers in the 25-10 victory against Drew. Men's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Matthew McAree, Scranton April 11, 2022 Matthew McAree led the Royals to a 2-0 week as he recorded 12 points on eight goals and four assists. In an 18-10 win over Montclair St. on Wednesday, McAree scored a career-high six goals, all in the first half. He then followed up with another six-point performance against Susquehanna on Saturday as he finished with two goals and a game-high four assists. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Nic Pezone, Catholic April 11, 2022 Junior Nic Pezone led the Cardinals in a 14-13 thriller over Landmark opponent Elizabethtown to push Catholic to 3-0 in conference play. The goalkeeper made a season-high 23 saves for a 63.9 save percentage. Pezone also scored the first goal of his career against the Blue Jays in the first quarter, while contributing two ground balls. Men's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Trevor Dzama, Moravian April 04, 2022 Dzama helped Moravian to a 2-0 record last week, and he led the squad with 16 points on five goals and 11 assists. Dzama also had four ground balls. He started the week with four goals and three assists in a 21-6 victory at Bryn Athyn College, and Dzama then had a goal, eight assists, and four ground balls in a 22-9 Landmark Conference win at Juniata College. Dzama's eight assists are tied for the third-most in a match in program history and tied for most assists in a game in the conference record books. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Jozef Korpics, Susquehanna April 04, 2022 Jozef Korpics helped lead the River Hawk men's lacrosse team to a 2-0 record, as he posted a 60.0 save percentage on the week while also scoring a goal and making 18 saves. Wednesday at Gwynedd Mercy in a 14-5 win, Korpics made 13 saves and allowed only four goals, chalking up a 76.5 save percentage in the win while adding three ground balls. On Saturday against Goucher, Korpics made five saves but added five ground balls. On one of those ground balls, he went the entire length of the field and scored SU's first goalkeeper goal and the first of his career. Men's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Nick Cost, Elizabethtown March 28, 2022 Senior Nick Cost set a school record and tied a Landmark Conference record, leading the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team to a dominant 19-8 victory against Scranton Saturday afternoon. The Devon, Pa. native tallied eight assists in the Blue Jays' Landmark Conference opening win over the Royals to tie a Landmark Conference single-game record and set a new mark for the program. Cost finished the weekend with 10 total assists, tallying two more in Etown's game on Sunday against #6 York. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Justin Lugo, Goucher March 28, 2022 Goucher senior Justin Lugo stopped 13 of 20 shots faced as the Gophers opened Landmark Conference play with a 16-7 win over Juniata. Lugo also picked up five ground balls in the victory. Men's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Brennan Lorence, Susquehanna March 21, 2022 Lorence had a superb week for the River Hawks, who went 2-0 with victories over Lebanon Valley and Hood College. The River Hawks tallied 17 goals in each contest, while Lorence was involved on 11 of those tallies. The first-year posted 11 points on five goals and six assists, adding nine ground balls and a caused turnover. Lorence led SU with five points on four goals and an assist against Lebanon Valley and then turned into facilitator with five assists and a goal against Hood. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Thomas Lee, Moravian March 21, 2022 Lee made the first two starts of his career in goal for Moravian during a 2-0 week and registered a 7.38 goals-against average with 18 saves in 114 minutes of action. He had nine saves in a 14-7 win at Marywood University to go with three of his four ground balls for the week. Lee recorded another nine saves in 54 minutes of action as the Greyhounds defeated Gwynedd Mercy University, 18-7. Men's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Craig Wilkie, Drew March 14, 2022 Wilkie posted five goals and three assists in Drew's 19-9 victory at Immaculata. He came up big when it counted the most, netting two goals and two assists in the Rangers' 8-0 run to close the game. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Danny Gilbert, Elizabethtown March 14, 2022 Senior Danny Gilbert had another monster week at the face-off X, winning a total of 32 face-offs with a .640 winning percentage in two games for the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team. At #11/#12 Dickinson, the Davidsonville, Md. native won 15-27 face-offs with five ground balls and an assist in the Blue Jays' buzzer-beater loss to the nationally ranked Red Devils. Gilbert followed up that performance, winning 17-of-23 against Widener with a game-high 11 ground balls in Etown's 13-6 win against the Pride. Men's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Matt Solleder, Scranton March 07, 2022 The University of Scranton junior Matt Solleder tallied a career-high five goals in a huge 13-11 win at No. 17 Cortland on Saturday. Solleder also added four points on a goal and three assists versus RPI earlier in the week. On the week, he had six goals, three assists for nine points. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Evan Rosa, Scranton March 07, 2022 In his first career start, The University of Scranton freshman Evan Rosa made it one to remember. Rosa registered an impressive 17 saves as he led the Royals to the upset of No. 17 Cortland. The Royals defeated the Red Dragons, 13-11. Men's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Kevin Crowley, Catholic February 28, 2022 Crowley scored a career-high nine points as Catholic posted a 19-14 win over No. 19 Colorado College. He totaled seven goals and two assists while adding a career-high six ground balls. The Cardinals posted their second win over a ranked opponent this season, following a 13-6 victory over No. 20 Washington and Lee to open the season. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Brayden Franey, Elizabethtown February 28, 2022 Sophomore Brayden Franey compiled 31 saves across two games to lead the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse defense this past week. The Catonsville, Md. native made 10 saves in the Blue Jays' first win of the season against Arcadia. Franey followed up that performance with a career-high 21 saves against Stockton. Men's Offensive Athlete of the Week - Mike DeMayo, Drew February 21, 2022 Wilkie erupted for career-highs of six goals and four assists to power the Rangers to a 17-9 season-opening win over Albright. His six goals tied him for sixth in school history, and his 10 points are tied for fourth-most all-time at Drew. He played a huge role in a decisive second half, racking up three goals and four assists as the Rangers outscored the Lions 12-5. Men's Defensive Athlete of the Week - Mike McShea, Catholic February 21, 2022 McShea won 38-of-54 face-offs for 70.4 percent and totaled 28 ground balls in two games last week. He won 21 face-offs in a convincing win over Mary Washington, three shy of his career-high. In the game against Roanoke, the senior totaled 12 groundballs and had one caused turnover. He also won 17 of his 28 face-offs.
