Stricker posted her biggest hit of the week for the final at-bat of her career at Scranton, as an RBI single against Moravian in game two on Saturday tied the game up at 2-2 in the third inning, as the Royals went on to win the game, 3-2. She had back-to-back multiple hit games in a doubleheader sweep of Misericordia on Monday, slamming a three-run home run in the Royals' 8-0 victory in six innings. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Kelly Lynch, Catholic May 01, 2017 (So., P - Eldersburg, Md.) Lynch was sensational in Catholic's perfect 6-0 (2-0 Landmark) week as she went 3-0 with three complete games and added two multi-inning saves. She finished with a 0.28 ERA over 24.2 innings pitched as she allowed just a single earned run over five games. The sophomore struck out 13 for the week and helped Catholic clinch the No. 3 overall seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament. Women's Athlete of the Week - Lauren Creamer, Susquehanna April 17, 2017 (Sr., IF - Langhorne, Pa.) Susquehanna senior Lauren Creamer has a solid week for the River Hawks, going 6-for-10. Creamer had nine RBI with two walks, and three homeruns, including a grand slam. She hit .600 with a slugging percentage of 1.500 and an on base percentage of .667. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Josie Novak, Moravian April 17, 2017 (Jr, P - Neshanic Station, N.J.) Novak tossed three shutouts and allowed just seven hits and two walks while striking our 24 batters in a 6-0 week for the No. 8 Greyhounds. Novak allowed one hit and two walks while striking out 11 in a 5-0 win at DeSales to start the week, her fifth one-hit shutout of the season. She then allowed four hits to go with seven strikeouts in a 4-0 victory over rival Muhlenberg College. Novak finished the week with two hits allowed and six strikeouts in an 8-0, five-inning shutout of Landmark Conference foe Drew University. Women's Athlete of the Week - Erin Adams, Catholic April 10, 2017 (Sr., 3B - Dunkirk, Md.) Catholic's senior third baseman Erin Adams batted and impressive .400 is six games last week as the Cards went 4-2 overall. Adams slugged .667 with four extra-base hits including a triple. She also plated seven runs and put up a three-RBI game in a 9-0 win over Elizabethtown. Adams also totaled five runs, two sacrifice hits a walk and a stolen base, while adding nine putouts and seven assists at the hot corner. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Josie Novak, Moravian April 10, 2017 (Jr, P - Neshanic Station, N.J.) Novak had a win and a save in the No. 11 Greyhounds' Landmark Conference sweep at Susquehanna University. She allowed just two hits in 8.1 innings of action to go with a pair of walks and five strikeouts. Novak scattered two hits and a walk in a 1-0 shutout in the opener with two strikeouts before coming in to toss the final 1.2 innings with three strikeouts for the save in the 4-2 win in the night cap. Novak also had two putouts in the field. Women's Athlete of the Week - Janae Matos, Moravian April 03, 2017 (Jr, C - Catasauqua, Pa., 24) Matos hit .727 in a 4-0 week for the No. 15 Greyhounds as she had eight hits in 11 at-bats. Matos added four runs, five RBIs, five doubles and three walks for a .786 on-base percentage and a 1.182 slugging percentage at the plate to go with 22 putouts and three assists in 25 chances in the field. Matos now has 15 doubles on the season, which is tied for second in a single season in Moravian's record books. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Josie Novak, Moravian April 03, 2017 (Jr, P - Neshanic Station, N.J.) Novak had a 2-0 week for the No. 15 ranked Hounds with a 0.00 ERA. She allowed an unearned run on two hits and two walks while striking out 13 batters. She became the third player in school history with eight strikeouts in a 2-1 win over Wilkes, and Novak tossed her fifth one-hit shutout of the year in a 5-0 victory over Juniata College on Sunday. Women's Athlete of the Week - Alyssa Shedlock, Juniata March 27, 2017 (Fr., OF - State College, Pa.) In the last four games, Juniata freshman Alyssa Shedlock had multiple hits in all four. In those contests she hit .909 with two homers and two doubles. Against Scranton, Shedlock was 5-for-6 with a double and a homer, five runs scored, and two batted in as Juniata swept the Royals for the first time since 2009. In the field, she was a perfect 8-of-8 on the week. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Amanda Carisone, Moravian March 27, 2017 (Jr, P - Neshanic Station, N.J.) Carisone posted a 3-0 week in the circle as No. 13 Moravian went 5-1 during the week including a sweep of Elizabethtown College to open the Landmark Conference season. Carisone had a 0.94 ERA with five runs, three earned, on 18 hits and three walks to go with 16 strikeouts in 22.1 innings over four appearances. She became the seventh pitcher in school history to reach 250 career strikeouts, and Carisone is eighth in school history with 45 career wins including an 8-0 mark this spring. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Morgan Rentzheimer, Scranton March 20, 2017 (Jr., P - Laurys Station, Pa.) Rentzheimer appeared in three games on the week in Florida and won them all, improving her record to 4-2 overall for the year. She posted a dominant performance in the MCLA game on Thursday, retiring the first 13 batters in a row before giving up a hit with one out in the fifth inning. The junior didn't allow an earned run in three starts, tossing a complete game against RPI on Wednesday in a 4-2 win. Women's Athlete of the Week - Shannon Stricker, Scranton March 20, 2017 (Sr., SS - Morrisville, Pa.) Stricker Led the Royals to a 4-1 week in their games in Clermont, Florida over Spring Break. The senior won the RPI game on March 15 with a three-run home run with two outs in the fifth inning, lifting Scranton to a 4-2 win. On the week, she hit .529 with seven RBI and a slugging percentage of .882. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Amanda Carisone, Moravian March 13, 2017 (Jr, P - Neshanic Station, N.J.) Carisone had a 4-0 week in the circle for No. 14 Moravian as the Greyhounds posted a 7-1 record at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. Carisone had a 0.81 ERA with just five runs, three earned, allowed in 26 innings of action, and she allowed just 19 hits and four walks while striking out 16 batters. Carisone started all four games and had three complete games, combining with freshman Paige Lesher on a 12-0 shutout of Mount Union. Carisone also had one putout and nine assists in the field during the week. Women's Athlete of the Week - Janae Matos, Moravian March 13, 2017 (Jr, C - Catasauqua, Pa.) Matos helped No. 14 Moravian to a 7-1 week at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida as she hit safely in all eight games and posted a .630 average. Matos was 17-for-27 with seven doubles, a home run, which was a grand slam, five runs and 12 RBIs for a .643 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Matos had 48 putouts behind the plate while catching seven of the eight games. Matos had six multi-hit games was added three hits in three different contests. She had two doubles in wins over Haverford College and Wittenberg University while connecting on a grand slam in a victory over Penn State-Behrend. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Josie Novak, Moravian March 06, 2017 (Jr, P - Neshanic Station, N.J.) Novak tossed a one-hitter to go with two walks and nine strikeouts in the Greyhounds' 10-0 win over Misericordia University in the second game of the opening day at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. The shutout was the 13th of Novak's career to move her into a tie for 10th in the Moravian record book. Women's Athlete of the Week - Julie Siragusa, Moravian March 06, 2017 (Sr, LF - Cranford, N.J.) Siragusa helped No. 17 Moravian begin the season with a pair of victories at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. She hit .571 over the two games, going 4-for-7, with two doubles, three RBIs and a walk for a .625 on-base percentage and a .857 slugging percentage. Siragusa also had one putout in her left field position. She was 2-for-4 in the season-opening 4-3 win over SUNY Oneonta with a three-RBI double. Siragusa was then 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in a 10-0 victory over Misericordia. Women's Pitcher of the Week - Kelly Lynch, Catholic February 27, 2017 (So., P - Eldersburg, Md.) Kelly Lynch continued her dominant run in the circle for the Cardinals from last season as she started the first game fo the season for Catholic and put forth a sterling performance. She went six strong innings at Gallaudet as she allowed just a single hit while striking out eight batters. She also helped her own cause registering four assists. Women's Athlete of the Week - Kesley Brown, Elizabethtown February 27, 2017 (Sr, C - Long Valley, N.J.) Elizabethtown senior Kelsey Brown went yard twice during Friday's doubleheader at Lebanon Valley. Brown jacked a two-run shot to left field and also added an RBI single in E-town's 11-5 win in the first game. Brown hit a solo homer in game two and finished 3-for-5 (.600) at the plate with a pair of runs scored, two homeruns and four RBI.
