2021-22 Track & Field Athletes of the Week Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Christian Schaaf, Elizabethtown April 19, 2022 Elizabethtown senior Christian Schaaf gave it his all Friday night at Bucknell in the 5,000m. Schaaf won his section in 14:24.22 to set a new Elizabethtown and Landmark Conference record. The Etown record stood since 2004 while the Landmark record was set back in 2011 before Schaaf's record-breaking performance. The time currently ranks him 21st in NCAA Division III. Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Isaiah Blatt, Susquehanna April 19, 2022 Junior Isaiah Blatt tied his career-best in the pole vault at the Greyhound Invitational, finishing third behind two Division III jumpers with a regional-qualifying mark of 4.60 meters. The height is the best in the Landmark Conference this spring. He also helped the 4x100 meter relay take second overall. Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Crystal Robinson, Moravian April 19, 2022 Robinson was the runner-up in the 100-meter dash final at the Greyhound Invitational in an All-Atlantic Track & Field Region qualifying, personal record, and school-record time of 12.15 seconds. Her time is also tied for 16th in the nation on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list. Robinson also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in an AARTF qualifying time of 25.09 seconds, which is 29th on the TFRRS list, and she ran a leg of Moravian's winning 4x100 meter relay that had an AARTF qualifying time of 47.74 seconds, which is ninth on the TFRRS list. Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Remi Acord, Susquehanna April 19, 2022 Freshman Remi Acord posted the top distances of the spring season in the Landmark in both the long and triple jump Friday at the Moravian Greyhound Invitational. Acord set a new personal-best in the triple jump with an 11.55m leap, taking second behind only a Division I athlete. Her effort in the triple ranked third all-time at SU. In the long jump, she also posted the third-best distance ever at Susquehanna, jumping to a 5.25-meter mark to take sixth with a regional-qualifying mark. Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Rob Novak, Catholic April 12, 2022 Junior Rob Novak helped lead the Cardinals to a first-place team finish on Saturday at the Bison Classic. His 400-meter dash time of 49.76 is the best in the conference this year, while he anchored the conference's best time (3:24.57) and the 23rd-best time in the country in the 4x400 relay. Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Keith Green, Susquehanna April 12, 2022 Keith Green had a banner day at the Messiah Invitational this weekend after picking up a pair of individual wins in the long and triple jump. Green was first in the long jump with a leap of 6.86 meters, posting the Landmark Conference's best mark in the outdoor season so far. He also won the triple jump, posting a leap of 13.36 meters, second-best in the Landmark this year. Both marks were personal bests. Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Kallan Carter, Susquehanna April 12, 2022 Susquehanna University junior Kallan Carter posted a huge personal-best time in the 3000-meter steeplechase (11:33.25), as she won the event at the Messiah Invitational. Carter's time is the best in the Landmark Conference by nearly 30 seconds, and she currently sits 23rd nationally in the event. Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Erin Miller, Elizabethtown April 12, 2022 Elizabethtown sophomore Erin Miller won the javelin for the first time this season and the fourth time overall on Saturday at the Messiah Invitational. Miller's winning toss was 37.35m, which is the best in the Landmark by over 4.00 meters. She also competed in the hammer for the Blue Jays, where she finished with a mark of 26.39m. Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Shane Houghton, Moravian April 05, 2022 Moravian University Shane Houghton took second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Muhlenberg College Invitational in an All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field qualifying time of 9:42.52. The time also ranks 42nd nationally on the TFRRS list in the event. Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Shane Mastro, Moravian April 05, 2022 Moravian University graduate student Shane Mastro won the discus at the Muhlenberg College Invitational with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying distance of 45.80 meters (150-03), which is 23rd on the TFRRS list nationally. Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Crystal Robinson, Moravian April 05, 2022 Robinson was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash at the Muhlenberg College Invitational in an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying time of 25.34 seconds, which would be 21st on the TFRRS list nationally but Robinson is already tied for 10th on the list with a better time from the Lafayette Open to begin the outdoor season. Robinson also placed as the runner-up in the 400-meter dash in an AARTF qualifying time of 58.61 seconds, which is 18th on the TFRRS list. Robinson ran a leg of Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad that won with an AARTF qualifying time of 48.39 seconds, which ranks 12th on the TFRRS list. Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Lexi Groff, Moravian April 05, 2022 Moravian University's Lexi Groff took first in the high jump at an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying height of 1.65 meters (5-5), which is also a personal record and ties the school record set by Melissa Cheong in 2015. Groff's height is tied for tenth in the nation on the TFRRS list. Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Owen Shields, Catholic March 29, 2022 Junior Owens Shields was responsible for two of Catholic's four first-place finishes at the Doc Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College in less than ideal conditions with wind, rain, and even hail at one point. He won the 800 meters (2:02.94) and then was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed first with a time of 3:41.71. Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Jordyn Walker, Catholic March 29, 2022 Catholic junior Jordyn Walker finished first in the long jump at the Doc Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College in less than ideal conditions with wind, rain, and even hail at one point. His mark of 6.67 meters is the second-best in the Landmark Conference. Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Clare Marsh, Catholic March 29, 2022 Freshman Clare Marsh was responsible for two of Catholic's three first-place finishes at the Doc Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College in less than ideal conditions with wind, rain, and even hail at one point. She won both the 100 and 400-meter hurdles with times of 17.17 and 1:10.44 respectively. She currently holds the top time in the Landmark Conference in the 400 hurdles. Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Ciara Donegan, Catholic March 29, 2022 Catholic freshman Ciara Donegan won the shot put at the Doc Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College in less than ideal conditions with wind, rain, and even hail at one point. Her mark of 11.48 meters is the second-best in the Landmark Conference. Men's Track Athlete of the Week - John O'Rourke, Catholic March 22, 2022 Catholic University junior John O'Rourke was the top finisher for the Cardinals after finishing second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:03.87, just two seconds off his career-best. The Cardinals opened their outdoor season at the Maryland Invitational. Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Joey Masser, Susquehanna March 22, 2022 Susquehanna sophomore Joey Masser started his outdoor season this weekend at the Washington & Lee Carnival with a strong performance in the long jump. Musser posted a regional-qualifying mark in the event with a 6.82-meter leap, finishing second overall in the event. Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Kallan Carter, Susquehanna March 22, 2022 Susquehanna junior Kallan Carter had a strong race in the 5000 meters Friday evening at the Washington & Lee University Carnival as she finished with a time of 18:36.88 for third place, the seventh-best time in program history while qualifying for the AARTFC meet later this spring. Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Maggie Boyer, Susquehanna March 22, 2022 Susquehanna sophomore Maggie Boyer started the spring outdoor season with a bang at the W&L Carnival in Lexington, VA, as she earned the win in the shot put while finishing sixth in a strong hammer throw field. Both of her distances in the shot and hammer were personal-best distances, as she won the shot put with a toss of 12.45 meters, the third-best shot distance in school history. It was also an AARTFC qualifying mark. She then posted a distance of 40.83 meters in the hammer, taking sixth with SU's 8th best distance in school history. Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Ian Dyson, Susquehanna February 15, 2022 Dyson had a great day at the SU Tune-Up meet, as the junior won the 60-meter dash while finishing a very close second in the 200 meters. Dyson's winning time of 7.12 was a personal best in the 60 meters and is now the third-best time in the Landmark Conference this season. His 200-meter time was also a personal best, posting the second-best time in the Landmark Conference this year to only teammate Elliott Davis. Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Keefer Goodspeed, Susquehanna February 22, 2022 Goodspeed was the winner in the pole vault Friday evening at the SU Tune-Up event, as he posted the Landmark Conference's third-best height at 4.40 meters to earn the victory. Goodspeed also finished sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.50 meters. Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Megan Gorman, Scranton February 15, 2022 Scranton senior Megan Gorman broke a four-year-old program record in the 800 meters on Friday at the SU Tune-Up. She won the event in 2:27.25, surpassing the previous program-best time of 2:28.96 that had been set by Nora Boussatta on Feb. 24, 2018. Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Sarah Bower, Susquehanna February 22, 2022 Sarah Bower earned first in the women's pole vault at the Susquehanna Tune-Up, as she posted a height of 3.05m or 10 feet. Bower's height is the best in the conference this season, tying her previous collegiate best. Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Elliott Davis, Susquehanna February 15, 2022 Freshman Elliott Davis was a double winner for the River Hawks in the SU Invitational Saturday, as he was the top runner in both the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash. Davis won the 200m with a season-best time of 23.04, the top time in the Landmark this year, while also running a conference-best time in the 400m. Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Bryce Ellinger, Susquehanna February 15, 2022 Junior Bryce Ellinger continued his standout season at the SU Invitational on Saturday, as he won the high jump with a Landmark and Susquehanna record leap of 2.06 meters. The previous record of 2.05 meters was set by Graham Huber of Susquehanna in 2009. Ellinger now has the fourth-best mark in the country, and the junior has won all four high jump events he's competed in this season. Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Jessica Hoffmann, Scranton February 15, 2022 Senior Jessica Hoffmann broke her own indoor program record by nearly 12 seconds in the 5,000 meters and won the event at the Susquehanna Invitational on Saturday with a time of 18:10.65, nearly 17 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. The time is also the fastest in the Landmark Conference this season. Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Carter Hinton Ayodele, Goucher February 15, 2022 Goucher freshman Carter Hinton-Ayodele set a school record and placed third in the long jump with a leap of 5.29 meters at the Susquehanna Invitational on Saturday. The mark currently is the best in the Landmark Conference this season. Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Christian Schaaf, Elizabethtown February 08, 2022 Elizabethtown senior Christian Schaaf ran the Landmark's fastest 3,000-meter time of the season Friday night at the NYC DIII Invitational. Schaaf won the 3k in 8:33.76. His time is also the second-fastest time in program history. Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Christian Di Nicolantonio, Catholic February 08, 2022 Di Nicolantonio finished first in the pole vault at the Alvernia PLEX Shootout with a career-best height of 4.60m. His mark is currently the top mark in the Landmark Conference this season, 24th in Division III, and second all-time at Catholic. Load More
