TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference announced its 2022 Volleyball awards on Tuesday afternoon. The awards are voted on by the league's eight head coaches.
Player of the Year - Mackenzie Coley (Juniata College)
Specialist of the Year - Kiona Sky Rousset-Hernandez (Juniata College)
Rookie of the Year - Audrey Muth (Juniata College)
Coaching Staff of the Year - Juniata College (Heather Pavlik)
Coley adds her name to the list of great JC women's volleyball players who earned Player of the Year accolades. She is the 13th Eagle to earn the honor in the conference's 16-year history, and the youngest to be selected. Coley is a sophomore middle hitter for Juniata.
Coley has had an outstanding 2022 campaign so far. She helped guide the Eagles to their 15th straight Landmark title last Saturday, defeating The University of Scranton, 3-1. Coley was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after tallying 17 kills while hitting .400 with three block assists in the title match. On the season, Coley ranks third in hitting percentage (.391) and has 246 kills so far. She also has 19 block solos and 48 assisted blocks for a total of 67.
Rousset-Hernandez has anchored the Juniata defense for the last two seasons as the team's libero. The junior earns her second All-Conference selection and is the ninth Eagle to earn Specialist of the Year honors. She is the first JC winner since 2018 when Katie Byrne was named.
In the championship match, Rousset-Hernandez amassed 29 digs, five assists, and two aces. This fall, she has a team-leading 519 digs (5.35 dps), 83 assists, and 58 service aces, which is second in the conference.
Muth has had a standout rookie campaign this fall. The freshman has 263 kills, 60 digs, and 34 blocks on the season so far. She is the eighth Eagle to be selected as the Rookie of the Year, and the second straight, joining teammate Olivia Foley who was named in 2021.
The Juniata coaching staff, led by 11th-year head coach Heather Pavlik, guided the Eagles to their 15th straight Landmark title, and the program's 41st consecutive conference championship, dating back to their time in the Middle Atlantic Conference.
The Eagles led the all-conference teams with five selections, followed by Elizabethtown College and The University of Scranton with three. Susquehanna University had two selections, while Drew University had one.
