United Soccer Coaches Men's Soccer All-Region Announced

TOWSON, Md. - A total of nine Landmark Conference men's soccer student-athletes garnered United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Region honors, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams

  • Kevin Kiernan - Drew University
Kiernan picked up his first career all-region award while becoming the 18th first-team all-region selection in team history and the first since Aidan Cserhat C'20 in 2017. He posted a prolific scoring campaign this past season in which he piled up 29 points on nine goals and 11 assists. Among the Landmark Conference leaders, he finished first in assists (0.58 apg), second in points (1.53 ppg), and fourth in goals (0.47 gpg). Kiernan ended the season on a flurry, netting all nine of his goals over the last 11 games. He notched the first hat trick by a Ranger in four years with three goals in a 5-0 win over DeSales, and he also posted two goals in the team's 3-0 Landmark Conference regular-season win over Moravian. Additionally, Kiernan scored a goal at Catholic in the Landmark semifinals, and he handed out two assists in three different matches.

    Brayden Wise - Lycoming College
Wise, who was also the 2023 Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year, again served as the team's beating heart as an outside back. He posted four goals during the season and played a major role in each of the team's 11 shutouts, as opponents averaged less than 10 shots per game against the Warrior backline. He is the first two-time player of the year in program history, earning MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022. Wise is the third Lycoming men's soccer player to earn three all-region accolades in a career, joining Jordan Logan '19 and Abdullahi Abdi '18, as he was a first-team defender in 2021 and a second-team pick in 2022 in Region IV.

  • Mudi Jagha - Catholic University
In his first season as a Cardinal, Jagha earned the honor thanks to strong performances in the backline. Playing largely in three center-back set up, Jagha started 20 games, only missing the regular-season finale due to yellow card accumulation. He played a key role in Catholic's keeping of five clean sheets and logged over 1,550 minutes, third-most on the team. Jagha also moved into a midfield role at times for coach Beauchamp.

    Domenico Caltabiano - Catholic University
Caltabiano earned the honor after scoring five goals and providing five assists. He was the only player to start every match for head coach Travis Beauchamp and his 10 goal contributions were the third-most on the team. The attacking midfielder both scored and assisted in the same match on back-to-back occasions in October, including when he scored the equalizer and assisted on the game-winner in a massive come-from-behind win over Elizabethtown on Oct. 10. He also provided an assist in Catholic's 2-1 NCAA Tournament loss to No. 23 SUNY Oneonta to break the program's all-time assists record.

    Gordie Bernlohr - Catholic University
Bernlohr adds this all-region selection to a long list of career accolades. The senior produced a magical season for the Cardinals, leading the Landmark Conference with 15 goals en route to offensive player of the year honors. A staggering seven of his goals were game winners, putting him in the top five nationally in that category. He also finished the season in blistering form, scoring 13 times in the final 13 minutes of the season and found the net in all three of Catholic's postseason contests.

    Tino Puentes - Drew University
Also a second-team all-region honoree last year, Puentes captured his second consecutive all-conference honor after gaining first-team recognition last season as well. Offensively, he scored one goal apiece in a victory at St. Joseph's Long Island and in a Landmark Conference win over Goucher. He also helped the Rangers limit their opponent to less than two goals in 11 of their 19 matches while posting seven shutouts, including clean sheets versus Landmark Conference foes Juniata, Susquehanna, and Moravian, who the Rangers blanked twice.

    Pedro Guizardi - Elizabethtown College
Guizardi led the team in goals, points, shots and game-winning goals. The junior set a new single-season career-high with his eight goals and 20 points. His four assists tied his career-high. Guizardi scored twice at Alvernia back in September and had a season-high four points (1g, 2a) in a conference win over Wilkes on Homecoming. He was also fourth in the Landmark in goals, points and shots. Guizardi was named all-conference for the third consecutive year and second straight time as a First Team midfielder.

  • Michael Adekanmbi - Goucher College
Adekanmbi, in his first season with the Gophers, was also a Landmark Conference Second Team All-Conference selection.  One of two players to start all 21 games for Goucher, Adekanmbi led the team in scoring with seven goals and 10 assists for 24 points.  A two-time Landmark Offensive Athlete of the Week, Adekanmbi finished the season ranked No. 5 in the conference in points, seventh in goals and second in assists.

    Kenny Clapp - Lycoming College
Clapp repeated as a third-team all-region defender in 2023 after earning the honors in Region IV in 2022. A two-time second-team all-conference honoree, he finished 2023 with a goal and eight assists, good for second in the conference and 33rd nationally in the category.
